Fri Jun 7 201316:55Rickie Weeks back in Friday's lineup
Rickie Weeks is in Friday's lineup against the Phillies.
Scooter Gennett has started the previous three games at second base, but Weeks is back in there with left-hander Cliff Lee on the hill for Philadelphia. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke plans to go with a platoon for the time being, but Weeks should be able to take back the job if he starts producing like he's capable of doing.

Thu Jun 6 201316:18Weeks not in Thursday's lineup vs. Phils
Rickie Weeks is not in Thursday's lineup against the Phillies.
Part of a newly-formed platoon at second base, Weeks is sitting again in favor of Scooter Gennett. We expect Weeks to be back in there Friday with left-hander Cliff Lee on the mound for Philadelphia, but it's tough to use him in standard mixed leagues right now.

Tue Jun 4 201315:26Weeks sitting in favor of Gennett on Tuesday
Rickie Weeks is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Athletics.
In other words, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke is going ahead with his plan to start Scooter Gennett against right-hander A.J. Griffin, even after Weeks' big game on Monday. Roenicke plans to go with what he's describing as a "loose" platoon at second base, but Weeks is obviously capable of playing at a much higher level than what he has shown to this point.

Mon Jun 3 201323:49Rickie Weeks homers, triples in loss
Rickie Weeks homered and tripled in a run to account for all of Milwaukee's offense against the A's on Monday.
Interesting timing. The Brewers called up Scooter Gennett before the game and turned Weeks into a platoon player. Weeks responded to the threat, hitting his first homer since May 15, collecting his first multihit game since May 2 and tripling for the first time this season. The triple was originally ruled a two-run homer before being overturned on replay. The plan was for Weeks to sit against a right-hander on Tuesday, with Gennett starting at second base. It will be interesting to see if manager Ron Roenicke sticks with that now. Weeks has had an awful year, but he has twice the upside of Gennett and the Brewers can't afford to sit him if he's on the verge of turning it around.

Wed May 15 201322:13Rickie Weeks knocks solo homer
Rickie Weeks launched a solo homer in Wednesday's loss to the Pirates.
Unfortunately for the Brewers, Weeks' blast was their lone tally on the night. The longball was the second baseman's first this month and just his third of the season. Weeks upped his average to a depressing .187 with the 1-for-3 showing.

Wed May 1 201301:49Weeks drives in five, Brewers defeat Pirates
Rickie Weeks went 3-for-5 with five RBI in the Brewers' 12-8 victory over the Pirates on Tuesday.
The second baseman had been ice cold of late, so Tuesday's outburst was a welcome occurrence. Three of the five RBI came on a home run in the eighth inning, and Weeks also added a two-run single and a double on the evening. Weeks has a rare combination of power and speed that make him worth owning in mixed leagues, but the batting average will always keep him from being an elite option. A second baseman that contributes in three or four categories is still plenty valuable, though.

Wed Apr 24 201301:30Rickie Weeks goes hitless yet again
Rickie Weeks went 0-for-3 on Tuesday, striking out twice and walking once.
It's his fourth straight hitless game, dropping his average to .164. He's struck out 28 times and homered just once in 73 at-bats to date. The Brewers have no real choice but to stick with him, but they have to be awfully frustrated by his streakiness. Last year, he was still hitting under .200 until late July.

Sat Mar 30 201317:12Weeks hits third spring homer. Brewers win
Rickie Weeks hit his third home run of the spring Saturday in the Brewers' 4-3 defeat of the White Sox.
A nice exclamation point for Weeks, who carries many question marks into 2013 after a somewhat down 2012. The 30-year-old is capable of bouncing back in a big way. Or maybe his four-year OPS slide will continue.

Mon Mar 11 201318:48Weeks has RBI triple in win over Dodgers
Rickie Weeks delivered an RBI triple in Monday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers.
Weeks nearly had a two-run homer against left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu, but he had to settle for an RBI triple after the ball nearly missed going over the fence in straightaway center field. The 30-year-old is hitting .348 (8-for-23) this spring and should be considered a top-10 option at second base in mixed fantasy leagues.

Sat Mar 2 201318:16Weeks goes deep for first time in 2013
Rickie Weeks hit his first home run of the spring during the Brewers 4-3 victory over the Angels Saturday.
Weeks also doubled in his three at-bats, raising his spring average to .231. Batting average isn't where Weeks makes his money, though. The 30-year-old hit 21 home runs last year, with 13 coming after the All-Star break. A rough couple months served to derail his 2012, but the power potential is still very much there. Weeks could be a nice source of counting stats in 2013.

Rickie Weeks remained red-hot, blasting a two-run homer in Saturday's 9-4 rout over the Mets.
He finished the night 2-for-4 with a homer, double, two runs scored and three RBI. His two-run shot came off Jeremy Hefner as part of the Brewers' five-run fourth inning. He later added an RBI double in the seventh, increasing the Brewer advantage to 9-4. Over his last 13 games, Weeks is hitting .298 (17-for-57) with seven homers and 14 RBI.

Rickie Weeks stayed hot in Wednesday's 8-2 rout of the Braves, going 2-for-5 with a three-run homer.
Weeks tagged Paul Maholm in the Brewers' eight-run fifth. The multi-hit effort was his sixth in 12 September games, while the home run was his 19th of the season. Weeks' next blast will give him his third consecutive 20-bomb campaign.

Wed Sep 5 201222:46Weeks' two bombs pace Brews past Marlins
Rickie Weeks stayed hot in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Marlins, ripping a pair of two-run homers.
The multi-homer night was the first of Weeks' lost 2012, though he's now gone deep three times in his past four games, and has four multi-hit nights since August 27. If Weeks is finally ready to go on a tear, he might as well do it during the fantasy playoffs. Signed through 2014, the soon-to-be 30-year-old second baseman is batting .230/.336/.395 on the year.

Sun Sep 2 201217:54Weeks' monster day leads Brewers in slugfest
Rickie Weeks had a monster day at the plate on Sunday, leading the Brewers to a wild 12-8 win in a slugfest over the Pirates.
He finished the afternoon 3-for-4 plus a walk, with a homer, four runs scored, two RBI and a pair of steals. Weeks' two-run blast off James McDonald in the fourth inning was one of five Brewers' long balls in the game. After a horrendous start to the season, he's really turned it on since the start of August, hitting .295 (33-for-112) with three homers, 10 RBI and five steals over 29 games.

Thu Aug 30 201218:43Rickie Weeks goes 5-for-5 versus Cubs
Rickie Weeks went 5-for-5 with two doubles and four runs scored versus the Cubs on Thursday.
It's Weeks' first career five-hit game. He had four hits on six occasions, including once this year. The outburst raised his average from .213 to .222, which is as high as he's been since April 18. He's batted .276 with seven homers and 17 doubles in 192 at-bats since the beginning of July.

Fri Aug 10 201223:16Rickie Weeks has three hits in losing effort
Rickie Weeks went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs in a losing effort against the Astros on Friday.
Weeks has been much improved since the start of July, hitting .297 (35-for-118) with six homers and 17 RBI over 34 games. He's certainly capable of keeping up this pace over the remainder of the season, and should still be owned and started in most formats.
