Ross Ohlendorf became the Brewers' latest victim on Tuesday, allowing seven runs (four earned) on 11 hits in five innings of a Pirates loss.
He struck out three and walked two. Now 1-2 with a 7.24 ERA, 2.12 WHIP and 9/7 K/BB ratio in 13 2/3 innings since coming off the disabled list, Ohlendorf is looking like he can be safely ignored in NL-only leagues.

Fri Aug 12 201115:59Ohlendorf comes off DL, sent to Triple-A
Pirates activated RHP Ross Ohlendorf from the 60-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis.
The Bucs simply had no room on their 25-man roster for Ohlendorf, who has been sidelined since April 9 with a strained right shoulder. If he's not recalled sooner, he'll certainly be amongst the Pirates' call-ups when rosters are expanded in September.

Ohlendorf recently finished his rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis, giving up four runs on eight hits and a walk over 6 1/3 innings Tuesday. Sun Aug 7 201113:58Ross Ohlendorf to make one more rehab start
Ross Ohlendorf (shoulder) will make one more rehab start for Triple-A Indianapolis before the Pirates decide what to do with him.
Ohlendorf holds a 3.42 ERA over five rehab starts to this point and appears to be totally over his shoulder ailment. But, the Pirates simply don't know what role he will fill. It's possible he'll remain at Triple-A to provide starting depth, or he could be promoted and serve as a long man out of the bullpen. It's unlikely he'll join the rotation.

The Pirates remain unsure of when Ross Ohlendorf (shoulder) will rejoin the club.

Ross Ohlendorf (shoulder) is expected to make another minor league rehab start with Triple-A Indianapolis.
Ohlendorf has been on the disabled list since the second week of the season with a right shoulder strain. He allowed one run over three innings in his most recent rehab outing last Friday. Assuming all goes well with his next outing, he could be activated from the disabled list. The Pirates haven't said whether he will return as a starter or a reliever, though it's a pretty good bet he's bullpen-bound.

Ross Ohlendorf (shoulder) will make his next minor league rehab start Sunday with Double-A Altoona.
Ohlendorf allowed four runs in eight innings over his first two rehab starts with High-A Bradenton. There isn't a sense of urgency to bring him back with the Pirates' rotation pitching so well, so he'll likely make at least a couple more starts in the minors.

Ross Ohlendorf (shoulder) has begun throwing simulated games at the Pirates' spring training complex.
Ohlendorf was transferred to the 60-day disabled list at the end of May and probably won't be ready to return to the major leagues until late July. "We ideally want to get him almost 60, 65, maybe even 70, 75 pitches before we start the clock in a rehab [assignment]," said Pirates GM Neal Huntington. "We're being ultra-conservative with Ross, but everything's going along fine."

Sun May 29 201120:39Ohlendorf could move to 60-day D.L. for Marte
Beat writer Rob Biertempfel suggests that Ross Ohlendorf could be moved to the 60-day disabled list to make room on the 40-man roster for INF Andy Marte.
Marte will likely be called up with Ryan Doumit and Steve Pearce both expected to be placed on the disabled list. Ohlendorf isn't going to be ready for major league action before June 8th anyways (60 days from when he was originally put on the 15-day D.L.), so moving him to the 60-day D.L. allows the team to avoid removing an additional player from the 40-man roster when they recall Marte.
