Mon Jan 13 201413:22Mario Chalmers (Achilles) iffy for Wednesday
Mario Chalmers (Achilles) didn't practice on Monday, leaving his status for Wednesday's game uncertain.
He did some work on the side while his teammates practiced and fantasy owners will have to wait until Tuesday for a more substantial update. With Chalmers unavailable, Norris Cole has started each of the past three games.

Thu Jan 9 201412:32Mario Chalmers (Achilles) out vs. Knicks
Mario Chalmers (Achilles) will miss another game on Thursday, which means Norris Cole will start at PG vs. the Knicks.
Cole may get another start on Friday, also, but even with a starting job in hand he's a marginal fantasy option. He had nine points, two 3-pointers and two assists vs. the Pelicans on Tuesday so hopefully he can at least top that performance. Anyone relying on Chalmers should check for status updates after Friday's shootaround.

Tue Jan 7 201418:15Chalmers ruled out Tuesday w/ sore Achilles
Mario Chalmers (Achilles) will not play on Tuesday.
He remains day-to-day but this gives him a maximum two-game week, and Miami's schedule over the next month isn't favorable on a week-by-week basis. Norris Cole will assume starting PG duties in Chalmers' absence and he's worth a look in daily fantasy leagues, but isn't worth grabbing elsewhere while Chalmers is day-to-day.

Tue Jan 7 201411:18Mario Chalmers a game-time call for Tuesday
Mario Chalmers (Achilles') is a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with the Pelicans.
Chalmers was forced out of Sunday's win over the Raptors early. With the Heat always taking the long view, we'd put him on the wrong side of this questionable tag. Backup point guard Norris Cole has averaged just 5.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in his two starts earlier this year.

Mon Jan 6 201410:45Mario Chalmers battled sore Achilles all week
Mario Chalmers (Achilles tendinitis) revealed that he's been dealing with pain in his foot for the past week, but Erik Spoelstra said his absence during the second half on Sunday was a precaution.
"[Chalmer's Achilles] got really sore toward the end of the first half and we felt it would be best to sit him in the second," Spoelstra said. Miami's next game is on Tuesday, at home vs. the Pelicans, and owners will need to stay alert for updates on Chalmers' status. If he's unable to play, Norris Cole will step into the starting lineup at PG.

Sun Jan 5 201420:05Mario Chalmers leaves w/ Achilles tendinitis
Mario Chalmers left Sunday's game with right Achilles tendinitis and he will not return.
Norris Cole started the second half in his place and would have a big role if Chalmers is forced to sit out any games, which isn't certain. The Heat have one day off before playing the visiting Pelicans in Miami, so check back for updates after Monday's practice. For what it's worth, Chalmers does not have a history of Achilles injuries.

Thu Jan 2 201422:48Mario Chalmers goes for 17 points in loss
Mario Chalmers had 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and a 3-pointer on 6-of-10 shooting in Thursday's loss to the Warriors.
Stephen Curry had his way with Mario C tonight, but Chalmers still came through with a solid fantasy line. He's an underrated point guard and while he'll rarely blow your socks off, he usually puts up quality numbers on a nightly basis.

Sun Dec 29 201302:37Mario Chalmers goes for 9-9-9 in win
Mario Chalmers had nine points, nine rebounds, nine assists and a steal in Saturday's win over the Blazers.
While Chalmers isn't a fantasy dynamo by any means, he is effective, and is averaging 11.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.2 steals and 0.8 3-pointers in his last five games, meaning he should be starting for most of his owners.

Sat Dec 28 201301:53Chalmers double-doubles in loss to Kings
Mario Chalmers double-doubled in Friday's loss to the Kings, scoring 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, 10 assists and three steals in 44 minutes.
Chalmers didn't have a game for the scrap book but he has gotten his stride back in fantasy leagues and should be in most lineups.

Fri Dec 20 201323:41Chalmers scores 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting
Mario Chalmers scored 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting (including a three) with one rebound, five assists, four steals and one block in the Heat's 122-103 win over the Kings on Friday.
After LeBron tried to kill him in the huddle of Wednesday's big game against the Pacers, and the disappearing act he had in that game, some easy buckets against the Kings was definitely a welcome development. Chalmers had played bad enough to be benched a few weeks ago but has since turned it around with top-50 value over the past two weeks.

Tue Dec 17 201300:34Chalmers bounces back, takes shot to thigh
Mario Chalmers got back on the right side of the ledger in the Heat's 117-94 win over the Jazz on Monday, scoring 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting (3-of-3 from deep) with three rebounds, eight assists and two steals in just 25 minutes.
Chalmers also took a shot to his right thigh but stayed in the game, and if we didn't hear anything more about it we wouldn't be surprised. Mario C. hadn't been keeping it very clean for owners over the past few weeks, but he's still a guy that should be owned in most formats as the clear-cut fourth cog in Miami's attack.

Sat Nov 30 201301:08Chalmers scores six points with eight assists
Mario Chalmers hit 2-of-8 shots in Friday's win over the Raptors, finishing with six points, two rebounds, eight assists, three steals and one block in 28 minutes.
Chalmers had a dud on Wednesday in his return from a hip injury, and while the shooting numbers aren't there the activity numbers look good. Both of his makes were 3-pointers and he should be in most, if not all lineups.

Wed Nov 27 201323:20Mario Chalmers quiet in return to action
Mario Chalmers returned from a hip injury on Wednesday, but struggled, hitting 1-of-4 shots for three points, three rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes.
Chalmers has been a nice surprise this season, but the injury threw a wrench in his plans. He should bounce back soon, but Chalmers just couldn't get it going tonight against the Cavs.

Wed Nov 27 201312:05Mario Chalmers (hip) expects to play vs. Cavs
Mario Chalmers (hip) went through Wednesday's shootaround and expects to play vs. the Cavaliers, but he's listed as a game-time decision.
He sat out Monday's game with a sore hip but it wasn't a serious ailment, and he should immediately resume playing 30 minutes per game ahead of Norris Cole. Check back prior to tip-off to confirm his status.

Mon Nov 25 201317:56Mario Chalmers (hip) will not play Monday
Mario Chalmers (hip) will not play against the Suns on Monday.
He popped up on the injury report this morning after coach Eric Spoelstra said Chalmers was "sore." Chalmers should be considered questionable for Wednesday's game against the Cavs. They will lean on Norris Cole tonight for most of the point guard work. He was suspended on Nov. 16 and Cole was able to turn in a line of eight points, seven boards, five assists and one steal in 36 minutes, so he's worth a look as a spot-start.

Tue Nov 19 201323:50Mario Chalmers back from suspension
Mario Chalmers returned from a one-game suspension and had 14 points, three rebounds, four assists, three steals and three 3-pointers in Tuesday's win over the Hawks.
He's quietly become a solid point guard option in fantasy leagues, especially on nights when Dwyane Wade is resting, as he was on Tuesday.

Sat Nov 16 201313:25Mario Chalmers suspended one game
The NBA suspended Mario Chalmers for Saturday's game against Charlotte.
The one-game suspension stems from his flagrant-2 foul on Dirk Nowitzki on Friday and comes a week after the league fined Chalmers $15,000 for a hard foul on Blake Griffin. If Chalmers can keep his attitude in check, he will continue to be a cheap source of 3-pointers and steals. He is averaging 1.7 3-pointers and 2.1 steals per game.

Fri Nov 15 201321:47Mario Chalmers gets ejected Friday night
Mario Chalmers was charged with a flagrant-2 foul on Dirk Nowitzki in Friday's game and was ejected.
The foul was off the ball and it was a little silly. Chalmers likely won't be suspended for it or anything with the refs having to review it before making the ruling to eject him. He finished with four points, two boards, three assists, one steal and one block in 24 minutes.
