Mario Chalmers had 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and three 3-pointers on 6-of-13 shooting in Wednesday's loss.
He was completely overshadowed by rookie Michael Carter-Williams, but played very well in the loss. He probably did a little more than usual with Dwyane Wade sidelined, but could help fantasy teams that are thin at point guard.

Mario Chalmers had five steals in 27 minutes on Tuesday to go with 13 points, three boards, four assists and one 3-pointer against the Bulls.
It was a great start to the season, but we've seen this movie before with Chalmers. The Heat lean on their stars far too often for the role players to be consistent, so the Kansas product will be a tough guy to keep locked into your lineup in most leagues.

Heat guard Mario Chalmers changed his diet and quickly lost 10 pounds over the summer.
Chalmers and LeBron James both say he is much faster than he was last season, which can only help his game. Chalmers will have fantasy value this season, but should be looked at as a No. 2 point guard given the way the Heat's offense runs through the LeBron and Dwyane Wade.

Tue Jun 25 201314:54Heat hold $4 million option on Chalmers
The Heat hold a $4 million player option on Mario Chalmers for the 2013-14 season.
It's a very fair price for an underrated 3-point shooter and the World Champions' starting point guard. The problem is that the Heat are already way over the 2013-14 salary cap, with $80 million in commitments. Ownership is going to have to open up its wallets in a big way to pay all the luxury tax that's coming. They shouldn't pinch pennies on Chalmers.

Mario Chalmers (ankle) played on Friday against the Bobcats, scoring six points on 1-of-4 shooting (4-of-4 FTs) with seven assists and three steals in 27 minutes.
If any of the Big Three are out on any given night you can bump him up in your projections a bit, but with the ankle issue and his general inconsistency there is no guarantee he'll be able to convert.
