Sun Mar 25 201210:41Cuban: Lamar Odom will remain w/ Mavs
Mark Cuban said after Saturday's game that Lamar Odom won't be bought out or sent home by the Mavericks this season.
"Lamar's not going anywhere," Cuban said. The Mavs are doing their best to support Odom and keep him in the fold, but he's still not getting it done on the court.

Sat Mar 24 201223:44Lamar Odom plays but struggles vs. Rockets
Lamar Odom played 13 minutes on Saturday, after picking up a DNP-CD in his last game, but he was scoreless with only two rebounds.
The Mavericks simply want Odom to buy into the team's mission of repeating as NBA champions, but it seems his off-court drama has prevented that from happening. In spite of his erratic and ineffective play this year, they're not giving up on the versatile forward just yet.

Fri Mar 23 201223:46Lamar Odom receives a DNP-CD on Friday
Lamar Odom received a DNP-CD on Friday, although it doesn't sound like something that will continue.
According to head coach Rick Carlisle, he wanted to get a look at a different rotation with Shawn Marion as the backup PF. The plan was to bring Marion off the bench to guard Manu Ginobili, but that plan changed when it was announced that Ginobili would start. Odom should re-join the rotation soon, but he is a long way from having any real fantasy value.

Tue Mar 20 201201:19Odom grabs season-high nine rebounds
Lamar Odom grabbed a season-high nine rebounds on Monday, and also chipped in with six points, four assists, and one steal in 26 minutes off the bench.
Odom saw some extra time with Shawn Marion (knee) out, so along with his body of work this year we're going to ask that he does this again before we move the needle.

Sun Mar 18 201211:36Lamar Odom returning to normalcy for Mavs
Lamar Odom reportedly asked the Mavericks for a buyout last month, but was denied by Mark Cuban and GM Donnie Nelson.
Odom's four-game personal leave of absence was related to his father's health, but it seems as though he's settling down for a run into the playoffs. He's still not providing fantasy value, but is reportedly more engaged and upbeat with his teammates.

Tue Mar 6 201201:50Odom disappears once again on Monday
Lamar Odom disappeared again on Monday against the Thunder, scoring six points on 3-of-9 shooting with two rebounds and one block in 24 minutes.
His energy might have been up compared to normal, but the results didn't build off of a versatile nine-point, five-rebound, three-assist, and three-block performance on Saturday. Just keep watching him from afar, or if you want, don't watch him at all and we'll let you know if he thaws out.

Sat Mar 3 201223:35Lamar Odom returns w/ solid effort for Mavs
Lamar Odom returned to the Mavericks on Saturday after being away from the team for over a week due to personal issues -- he came off the bench for nine points, five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and zero turnovers in 18 minutes.
Odom looked engaged and was quite effective tonight, which is great news. His departure, along with his lousy play to this point in the season, has the Mavericks organization a bit miffed. He's expected to address the team, and everything should blow over as long as he steps up his play.

Sat Mar 3 201211:53Lamar Odom to join Mavs, not D-League on Sat.
Lamar Odom will not play a game in the D-League, instead being called up for the Saturday's game vs. the Jazz.
Odom will be worked slowly into the mix, but the Mavs have lost five out of six games and can't wait much longer for him to get his head straight. Patience is wearing thin in Dallas, according to coach Rick Carlisle, and it will be interesting to see how Odom reacts to the pressure.

Fri Mar 2 201219:32Carlisle lays down the gauntlet for Odom
Rick Carlisle laid down the gauntlet for Lamar Odom on Friday, saying that he would receive scrutiny from all levels of the Mavs organization when he returns from his personal issue.
This is a complex issue and we'll let you read the article and be the judge, if you care. The bottom line is that Odom's act is wearing thin, and it's time for him to put on his big boy pants and play or he's going to be written off in Dallas. Odom will return to action on Saturday in the D-League, a move he requested, and while we're not anywhere near recommending an add for him -- it's possible this final 'chance' causes him to actually try.

Fri Mar 2 201212:47Mavs officially assign Lamar Odom to D-League

A weird sentence to read, but Odom will head to the D-League on a rehab assignment before ultimately joining the Mavericks following a lengthy personal leave.

Thu Mar 1 201217:57Odom expected to play one game in D-League
Lamar Odom (personal) is likely to play with the Mavs' D-League affiliate Saturday in order to "get his legs back."
Odom has been away from the team for more than a week. Before that, he was playing perhaps the worst basketball of his career. The Mavs will try to jumpstart him with a rehab game on Saturday before rejoining the major-league squad.

Thu Mar 1 201214:27Report: Odom close to returning to team
The Mavs expect to have Lamar Odom (personal) back on the active roster within a few days, sources tell ESPN.com.
There have been rumors that Odom was seeking a buyout of his contract. The Mavs have shot that down and say it's solely a family issue that has caused Odom to be away from the team since before the All-Star break. Odom could be back with the Mavs as soon as this weekend, but he's a poor bet to top his current 21.3 minutes per game unless Dirk Nowitzki (back) misses time.

Thu Mar 1 201209:16Lamar Odom facing uncertain future in Dallas
Citing a source close to the situation, there is a "growing feeling" that Lamar Odom might not return to the Mavericks.
Mark Cuban has gone on the record repeatedly that he's not interested in a buyout, and Odom has absolutely no value in a trade right now. There is a lot of uncertainty around Odom right now, who just hasn't been himself on the court all season.

Tue Feb 28 201212:28Lamar Odom out at least two more games
Lamar Odom (personal) will be away from the Mavericks for at least two more games.
Odom has become irrelevant in standard-sized leagues and it doesn't appear that a rebirth is coming any time soon. He should be avoided by owners, and the Mavericks aren't sure when he'll be back with the team.

Tue Feb 28 201209:11Mavericks will not buy out Lamar Odom's deal
The Mavericks have no interest in buying out the remainder of Lamar Odom's contract this season.
Rumors are swirling that Odom is seeking a buyout, but Mark Cuban said that would not be happening. "We haven't discussed a buyout and we wouldn't do a buyout. No chance that happens at all," said Cuban. Odom remains away from the team at this time due to a personal matter.

Mon Feb 27 201221:51No timetable for Odom's (personal) return
There is no timetable for Lamar Odom's return from personal issues according to coach Rick Carlisle.
Depending on what you read, his father is either ill or he's not, and we'll wait for the next report before jumping to conclusions. Either way, Odom has had a nightmare of a season and should be avoided by fantasy owners.

Lamar Odom (personal) was not at Mavs practice Monday.

Sun Feb 26 201210:10Mavs optimistic Lamar Odom will improve
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle is optimistic that Lamar Odom will continue to improve in the second half of the season.
"I think we're closer than we've ever been to him playing well," said Carlisle. "The guy's too good of a player and . he has two bad games in a row and everybody's ready to jump again, but I'm not going there." Despite the positivity, fantasy owners shouldn't be relying on a resurgence from Odom this year. The Mavs play nine games in 12 days soon after the All-Star break.

Wed Feb 22 201220:08Lamar Odom out Wednesday for family matter
Lamar Odom will miss Wednesday's game due to a family matter.
That should mean more minutes for Shawn Marion tonight.

Thu Feb 16 201203:56Odom scores 14 points off the bench
Lamar Odom scored 14 points off the bench on Wednesday, hitting 6-of-12 shots from the field (including a three) with three rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block in 30 minutes.
Delonte West (finger) was knocked out of action for a while after breaking his finger, and both Jason Terry (mild quad strain) and Roddy Beaubois (personal) were out. That left Odom alone to play point forward and he now has three modestly improved games under his belt. He should only be watched for now, but we wouldn't put it past him to need to feel wanted in order to play well for the Mavs.
