Tue Jul 22 201411:46Mason Plumlee named to USA Select team
Mason Plumlee has been named to the USA Select team.
This is a huge honor for the 24-year-old as he attempts to build off his strong Summer League showing. Plumlee will join his brother, Mason, and 10 other young players who will help prepare Team USA for this summer's World Cup of Basketball. Plumlee will open the 2014-15 season backing up Brook Lopez, but should be able to carve out a role for himself in the Nets' rotation and provide fantasy value to owners in deeper leagues.

Mason Plumlee (sore left foot) will not play against the Sixers on Wednesday.
He has been outstanding in Orlando so far and there was no major sign of an injury prior to today. Plumlee is likely going to earn a role in the rotation, but his playing time figures to be sparse while Brook Lopez (foot) is healthy.

Sat Jul 5 201411:32Mason Plumlee drops 23 in summer league
Mason Plumlee made 8-of-11 from the field for 23 points vs. the Pacers on Saturday, adding seven boards, one assist and three steals.
He continues to thrive around the basket and looked great today. Plumlee's rookie season went well down the stretch and he'll look to back up Brook Lopez next season. He won't be on the radar in standard leagues off the bat, but playing time could open up for him.

Tue Jul 1 201410:56Mason Plumlee will play in summer league
Mason Plumlee will headline the Nets' summer league roster this month.
He'll be joined by the three rookies, Marquis Teague and Jorge Gutierrez. Cory Jefferson, Xavier Thames and Markel Brown could all see minutes, but Plumlee may be the most interesting player to watch after really improving down the stretch last season.

Thu May 22 201414:33Mason Plumlee named to All-Rookie First Team
Mason Plumlee was named to the All-Rookie First Team on Thursday.
He filled in admirably for an injured Brook Lopez and an aging Kevin Garnett during the regular season, averaging 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds. Unfortunately for Brooklyn, his production in the playoffs plummeted down to 2.2 points in just 11 minutes of action. Despite his postseason failures, he proved that he can perform at the NBA level and has promise as a late-round add in fantasy drafts.

Tue Apr 15 201423:33Mason Plumlee goes for 16 & 9 in loss
Mason Plumlee hit 7-of-9 shots for 16 points and nine rebounds in 30 minutes on Tuesday.
He's made a name for himself over the past 30 games and should have another nice one on Wednesday, with or without the regular starters playing for Jason Kidd.

Fri Apr 11 201423:30Plumlee scores 17 points on 6-of-6 shooting
Mason Plumlee hit all six of his field goal attempts on Friday, scoring 17 points with four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 29 minutes off the bench.
Plumlee is cruising right now with averages of 14.3 points, 6.0 boards, 1.5 combined steals and blocks, and 83.3 percent field goal shooting over his last four games. He's averaging 27.4 minutes in that span and it wouldn't be surprising if he keeps it up while the Nets rest their older players. Those numbers are good enough for mid-round value and owners needing a big man should pick him up.

Tue Apr 8 201422:56Mason Plumlee saves game, Nets sweep
Mason Plumlee blocked LeBron James shot near the end of the game as the Nets held on for an 88-87 win over the Heat to complete a four-game season sweep of the champs.
Plumlee had eight points, eight rebounds, a steal and three blocks, although the one he had on LeBron to save the game certainly could have been called a foul. Plumlee will likely move back to the bench for his next game, as Kevin Garnett is expected to start after sitting this one out.

Tue Apr 1 201423:07Mason Plumlee has season-high four assists
Mason Plumlee handed out a season-high four assists vs. the Rockets on Tuesday, adding 11 points and six rebounds with one steal and two blocks.
Plumlee is only averaged 21 minutes as a starter this season, yet he's still scoring 7.4 points with 6.0 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in those games. His 62 percent FT shooting is compensated for by an equal 62 percent mark from the field, and his impressive per-minute averages are worth remembering with his role likely to expand next season.

Sun Mar 23 201423:04Mason Plumlee held to single-digits on Sunday
Mason Plumlee's streak of double-digit scoring games ended on Sunday with five points on 2-of-8 shooting, six rebounds, three assists and one steal.
The biggest limitation for Plumlee's fantasy value has been playing time, and he's still averaging only 23 minutes as a starter with Kevin Garnett sidelined by back spasms the past two weeks. Foul trouble is occasionally the culprit, but owners looking ahead to Plumlee's sophomore NBA season should remember his terrific per-36-minute splits -- 14.7 points on 64.1 percent shooting, 8.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.6 blocks and only 1.9 turnovers.

Sat Mar 22 201402:49Mason Plumlee coming on after the break
Mason Plumlee exceled in another start at center for the Nets during a win over the Celtics on Friday, making 6-of-7 from the field for 18 points with five boards, three assists and three steals in 21 minutes.
He's really turned the corner since the break and leads all rookie in field goal percentage in that span (minimum of 2.0 attempts per game). It certainly wasn't a good day for Duke, but Plumlee has been a nice find for the Nets and he's on the radar as a player to own in standard leagues with Kevin Garnett (back) out for at least three more games.

Thu Mar 20 201400:05Mason Plumlee scores 11 in start
Mason Plumlee was put into a Youtube video by Gerald Green's monster dunk on Wednesday, but also had 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block on 4-of-6 shooting in 19 minutes in another start for the Nets on Wednesday.
Plumlee's worth a deep-league look right now, averaging 12.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals over his last two games. And over his last five, those numbers come in at 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks.

Mon Mar 17 201422:33Mason Plumlee shines vs. big bro in win
Mason Plumlee got the best of his big brother in Monday's win over the Suns with 14 points, 11 boards, one assist and two steals on 27 minutes.
It was the third double-double of his career and he's played in at least 22 minutes for four consecutive games -- his longest such streak in his career. Kevin Garnett is going to miss at least two more games, so Plumlee looks to be on the radar in deeper leagues for points, boards, blocks and field goal percentage.

Mon Mar 10 201423:22Plumlee gets a steal and block in start
Mason Plumlee started for injured Kevin Garnett (back) in the Nets' 101-97 win over the Raptors on Monday, scoring six points on 3-of-7 shooting with eight rebounds, one steal and one block in 26 minutes.
This is what you hope for if you spot-start a guy like Plumlee in a deep league. He could become a mild factor if and when guys rest down the stretch but there is no real fantasy value to get behind at this time. Garnett almost suited up tonight and he'll be day-to-day until his career ends.

Sun Mar 9 201420:42Mason Plumlee gets five fouls in 12 minutes
Mason Plumlee racked up five fouls in 12 minutes while attempting to defend DeMarcus Cousins on Sunday.
The rookie has shown flashes of potential this season, but he's been struggling as a starter with Kevin Garnett (back spasms) on the sidelines. He has 13 personal fouls and zero blocks in a combined 51 minutes of action over Brooklyn's past three games, which sums up his lack of fantasy appeal.

Fri Mar 7 201410:19Mason Plumlee will start on Friday again
Mason Plumlee will start in place of Kevin Garnett (back) once again Friday.
In five starts so far this year, Plumlee is averaging 5.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks. Owners looking for a streamer here are better off with Andray Blatche, who is averaging 14.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.3 blocks over his last three games.

Wed Mar 5 201417:58Mason Plumlee starting again on Wednesday
Mason Plumlee will start again on Wednesday night vs. the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies have been putting clamps on centers for much of this season, so it'll be a real test for the rookie. Andray Blatche should see most of the minutes as the Nets' primary big man, which makes sense to help space the floor a little bit better. Only desperate owners should look to Plumlee in a spot start while Blatche should be viewed as a high-upside play in all formats.

Mon Mar 3 201423:36Mason Plumlee sores six points in start
Mason Plumlee made his second consecutive start on Monday with six points, four boards and one block in 22 minutes.
He doubled his 11 minutes from Saturday and Plumlee has been very efficient all season. In his last five, he's averaged 7.4 points, 5.4 boards and 1.0 blocks on 64.0 percent from the field in just 16.8 minutes per game. His ceiling won't be very high with the low minutes, but deep league owners can give him a look while Kevin Garnett (back spasms) is on the mend.

Sat Mar 1 201423:24Mason Plumlee starts, sees 11 minutes
Mason Plumlee drew a start for injured Kevin Garnett (back) on Saturday but played just 11 minutes in the win over the Bucks.
He had five points and seven rebounds, but the minutes are a huge concern. Andray Blatche tore it up off the bench and is the guy you'll want to use any time Garnett is in street clothes.
