Mon Feb 10 201418:34Caron Butler is still out of the lineup
Caron Butler (ankle) will not play against the Celtics on Monday night.
He's out indefinitely with a high-ankle sprain and is highly unlikely to play on Wednesday. Khris Middleton has been outstanding as the primary small forward and should be in all lineups tonight. The Bucks won't be in a rush to bring Butler back, meaning he's not worth stashing almost anywhere.

Mon Feb 3 201423:47Caron Butler out with a high-ankle sprain
Caron Butler suffered a high-ankle sprain on Monday and will be out indefinitely.
High-ankle sprains have cost some players over a month of playing time while some can make it back much sooner. Regardless, Butler has been far too inconsistent hold in most leagues. Giannis Antetkounmpo and Khris Middleton get a bit of a bump with Butler out of the lineup.

Mon Feb 3 201422:14Caron Butler suffers ankle sprain on Monday
Caron Butler suffered a left ankle sprain against the Knicks on Monday and will not return.
He played just 15 minutes with three points and five boards on 1-of-6 shooting. Butler has been up and down all year while he's dealt with a multitude of injuries in the past few years of his career. He'll likely miss time considering how the Bucks handle injuries, so Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokoumpo may get more playing time.

Sat Feb 1 201423:15Caron Butler cools off with 10 points
Caron Butler cooled off against the Grizzlies on Saturday with 10 points, two boards, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes.
He put up 20 points on Friday and was inevitably not going to be able to match that production tonight. Butler's January averages of 9.7 points, 3.8 boards, 1.7 assists and 1.2 triples serve as a fair expectation for his fantasy value.

Fri Jan 31 201422:43Caron Butler scores 20 points off the bench
Caron Butler scored 20 points against the Magic during a 113-102 loss on Friday with four boards, one assist, one steal, one block and four 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
He was the first player off the bench for coach Larry Drew tonight in what was one of the sloppiest rotations of the year -- even for him. Butler's minutes have increased in each of his last three games, but he's still going to be a little too untrustworthy in his bench role for most leagues.

Mon Jan 27 201423:33Butler scores 11 points with three treys
Caron Butler scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting (including three treys) with five rebounds and one steal in 23 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Butler scored 30 points on January 22 but scored just 12 points in the two games after that. Owners can simply do better than him unless he goes on a prolonged hot streak.

Thu Jan 23 201421:49Caron Butler says he wants to stay with Bucks
Caron Butler said on Thursday he is happy in Milwaukee with the Bucks.
He was a DNP-CD back on Jan. 11 and it led to some reports of Butler not being happy. "If a hometown guy can't be happy here or guys like that, who will come here? I've never been one to bite my tongue and I've got a lot of friends in the NBA and I express myself," Butler said. "As of now, I'm happy and I want to be here, but I'm going to continue to express myself." He is coming off a 30-point game and is back on the radar in most fantasy leagues.

Thu Jan 23 201411:17Caron Butler overcomes root canal surgery
Caron Butler (root canal) exploded for 30 points two days after a root canal surgery.
Two days removed from a root canal procedure, Butler lit it up on his bobblehead night. "I wasn't feeling good yesterday and felt extremely weak, and coach just walked through the practice and he believed in me tonight and gave me the opportunity," Butler said. "That's why it was even more special." Fantasy owners will want to see more of this before picking up the 12th year veteran, but it's nice to see he still has these types of games in him.

Thu Jan 23 201400:13Caron Butler scores 30 in first win of 2014
Caron Butler led the Bucks to their first win of 2014 with his season-high 30 points against the Pistons, adding seven boards, five assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes.
He shot 12-of-21 from the field and made all four attempts from the line in the 104-101 victory. Interestingly, it was Caron Butler Bobblehead Night in Milwaukee tonight, which might get fantasy owners excited for Larry Sanders Bobblehead Night on Mar. 27. Kidding aside, Butler did have a huge start to his season, but most owners will probably want to see it again before picking him up, unless it's for a player they're not going to miss.

Sun Jan 19 201423:15Caron Butler (illness) sits out vs. Spurs
Caron Butler (illness) did not play vs. the Spurs on Sunday.
Butler hasn't been shy about his displeasure with his role in Milwaukee, but the last-place Bucks aren't about to deploy their veterans at the cost of player development. Regardless of his health, he's not a fantasy option while rooted to Milwaukee's bench.

Sun Jan 19 201417:41Caron Butler is sick, might not play
Caron Butler is sick and might not play against the Spurs on Sunday.
He has voiced his displeasure about the Bucks and went on Instagram to talk about his worth. Whether this illness is just a coincidence is anyone's guess, but Butler's fantasy value is pretty much useless right now.

Sun Jan 12 201400:23Caron Butler picks up DNP-CD vs. Thunder
Caron Butler picked up a DNP-CD vs. the Thunder on Saturday.
He played just eight minutes in the Bucks' previous game and shouldn't have been in any fantasy lineups, but it's still mildly surprising to see the veteran SF rooted to the bench all game. This could quietly mark a turning point for the lottery-bound Bucks, who have lost six straight games and are on pace to have the most draft-lottery balls thanks to an NBA-worst 7-29 record. Let the tanking begin in earnest.

Sun Jan 5 201400:48Caron Butler hits four 3-pointers, scores 16
Caron Butler played 27 minutes off the bench and hit 6-of-11 shots and four 3-pointers on his way to 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists in Saturday's loss.
Butler had scored 9, 0, 6 and 0 points in each of his previous four games, so there wasn't much incentive to have him in fantasy lineups tonight. And given the Bucks random playing rotations, it would not be surprising to see him lay another goose egg next time out. Like almost every Buck not named Brandon Knight, Butler will cause plenty of heartache and produce too inconsistently unless Drew decides to get his house in order. And it doesn't look like we're anywhere close to that point.

Wed Jan 1 201402:17Caron Butler plays just eight minutes
Caron Butler did not score against the Lakers on Tuesday night, adding one rebound, three assists and three turnovers in a career-low eight minutes.
His minutes have really taken a significant dive from a 40-minute return back on Dec. 21. In his last four, Butler averaged just 4.3 points, 3.0 boards and 3.8 assists on 20 percent from the field in 19.8 minutes per game. That's a big enough sample size to cut him in standard leagues, but he could bounce back with the unpredictable rotations of coach Larry Drew.

Fri Dec 27 201323:37Caron Butler is off on Friday night vs. Nets
Caron Butler did not score on his seven shot attempts from the field in a bench role against the Nets on Friday.
He came off the bench and really didn't get many great looks at the hoop tonight. Butler played well in his first two games back from a knee injury, averaging 16.5 points, 7.5 boards, 3.5 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.5 blocks and 1.5 triples, so this dud was unexpected. Fantasy owners shouldn't hit the panic button just yet.

Mon Dec 23 201323:10Caron Butler plays 30 minutes on Monday
Caron Butler played 30 minutes in Monday's 111-110 overtime loss to the Bobcats and had 11 points, four boards, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.
He shockingly played 40 minutes on Saturday for his return to the lineup, so tonight seems like a fair expectation now that the Bucks are at least somewhat healthy. Butler was playing 30.2 minutes per game before tonight, averaging 13.8 points, 6.0 boards, 0.9 steals and 2.0 triples in 13 games. He's worth owning in standard leagues while he's healthy.

Sun Dec 22 201300:38Caron Butler returns with 22 and 11 in win
Caron Butler returned on Saturday after a 12-game absence, scoring 22 points with 11 boards, four assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes.
Well, so much for the minutes restriction. Butler was playing well before his knee injury sidelined him with averages of 13.2 points, 5.6 boards, 1.0 steals and 2.0 triples in 29.5 minutes, so he picked up right where he left off. There are some major durability concerns with the 33-year-old forward, but he's worth owning as long as he's active.

Sat Dec 21 201318:57Caron Butler (knee) back in action vs. 76ers
Caron Butler (knee) will return to action vs. the 76ers on Saturday.
He hasn't played since late November and is sure to have a thick layer of rust on his game, so we're not expecting much from him tonight. Anyone relying on Khris Middleton should watch to see how the return of Caron and Gary Neal affects his playing time.
