Thu Jan 31 201312:57Ed Davis not expected to play on Thursday
Ed Davis is not expected to play on Thursday, but will likely be available on Friday.
Davis will backup Zach Randolph when he is ready to go, but without him, the Grizz will use a lot of Randolph and Darrell Arthur on Thursday.

Wed Jan 30 201319:29Ed Davis takes a hit in trade to Memphis
Ed Davis will now back up Zach Randolph for the Grizzlies after being tentatively traded on Wednesday.
This is a tough break for Davis, who was starting for the injured Raptors. However, his arrow was already pointing down with Jonas Valanciunas and Andrea Bargnani nearing returns for the Raptors. Now he'll play behind Zach Randolph for his new team, meaning he's no longer a must-own, must-start fantasy player.

Tue Jan 29 201300:45Ed Davis scores 12 points with nine boards
Ed Davis scored 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting with nine rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three blocks in Monday's loss.
Now would be a great time to try and sell Davis before the frontcourt conceivably gets crowded when Andrea Bargnani and Jonas Valanciunas return. Otherwise, just ride him until the wheels fall off.

Sun Jan 20 201316:05Ed Davis scores 18 points on Sunday
Ed Davis scored 18 points with eight boards in 31 minutes against the Lakers on Sunday.
The Lakers had no answer for Davis and his athleticism allowed Toronto to push the ball in the win. Interestingly, coach Dwane Casey didn't play Davis in the fourth quarter even though he was playing well. Amir Johnson sat out most of the first half with foul trouble, so perhaps Casey wanted to go with fresher legs. Davis should be owned in all leagues.

Fri Jan 18 201322:04Ed Davis puts up 18 points and 10 boards
Ed Davis filled the stat sheet in a loss to the Sixers on Friday with 18 points, 10 boards, six assists, one steal and two blocks in 42 minutes.
Davis has established some nice consistency in his last six games, averaging 15.0 points and 8.7 boards. On the other hand, he's converted only 51.8 percent of his free throws in his last nine games to put a dent in his value. Davis is cruising along and there's a decent chance he can retain his job as the starting power forward even when Andrea Bargnani comes back. He should be owned in all leagues.

Sun Jan 13 201316:49Ed Davis goes off for 20 and 12 on Sunday
Ed Davis had his fifth double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 boards on Sunday, adding two assists and one steal in 36 minutes.
He shot 8-of-12 from the field and 11 of his 12 shots came from inside the paint. Davis' post-up game has improved and he's getting better at creating his own shot. He's shooting 54.8 percent from the floor this season and should be owned in all leagues.

Fri Jan 11 201322:21Ed Davis goes for 12 points, eight boards
Ed Davis had 12 points, eight boards, one assist and one block in just 23 minutes against the Bobcats on Friday.
He has been a much bigger part of the offense in his last nine games, attempting 11.8 shots per game for 12.2 point per game in that stretch. Davis is shooting 54.3 percent from the field this season and should be owned in all standard leagues.

Fri Jan 11 201314:51Casey continues to rave about Ed Davis
Coach Dwane Casey continues to rave about the improved play of Ed Davis.
For more than a week now, Casey has been saying that Davis will continue to start at power forward even when Andrea Bargnani (elbow) returns. "Unless [he] goes backwards, which I don't see him doing, it's going to be very difficult to get him out of there and difficult to keep him off of the floor," Casey said. In the 14 games Davis has started this year, the Raptors have gone 9-5. He's averaging 11.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 0.9 blocks and shooting 56.2 percent from the field during that span.

Wed Jan 9 201322:41Ed Davis goes for 17 & 9 in win
Ed Davis had 17 points and nine rebounds on 8-of-14 shooting in 35 minutes in another start at power forward in Wednesday's win.
He didn't have a block or a steal, but is averaging 14 points, eight boards and nearly a block over his last five games. Davis, Amir Johnson and Jose Calderon are all playing very well, and should continue to start until Andrea Bargnani and Jonas Valanciunas return from their injuries, and even then it may be up for debate as to who will come off the bench.

Wed Jan 9 201309:03Casey wants Davis to stay aggressive
Dwane Casey wants Ed Davis to stay "aggressive" and be in "that hungry mode."
Davis is averaging 11.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 1.0 blocks on 56 percent shooting in a starting role this season, and it's easy to see why his fantasy-friendly game has had owners calling for him to play more before this season. Davis is worth a look for owners in need of a big man with Andrea Bargnani (elbow) sidelined if he's still available in your league.

Sun Jan 6 201316:17Ed Davis struggles mightily on Sunday
Ed Davis had a rough outing in 34 minutes with four points and three rebounds in 34 minutes against the Thunder on Sunday.
It was arguably his worst game since taking over as a starter. Davis was forcing shots and made just 2-of-7 from the field. In his four previous games, he shot 57.8 percent from the field and scored 15.3 points. Davis owners shouldn't worry and expect him to rebound against the Sixers on Wednesday.

Sat Jan 5 201301:57Ed Davis double-doubles with three blocks
Ed Davis double-doubled against the Kings on Friday, scoring 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting with 13 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and three blocks in 41 minutes.
With DeMarcus Cousins abusing the Raptors inside, Davis was able to log some extra minutes with Amir Johnson (nine minutes) fouling out extremely quick. Both players are worth owning in most formats.

Fri Jan 4 201318:08Casey: 'It will be hard to bench Ed Davis'
Coach Dwane Casey said Friday that "it will be hard to pull Ed Davis out of the (starting) line up" when Andrea Bargnani (elbow) returns.
Davis has started the last 10 games, averaging 12.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 0.9 blocks and 0.9 steals. The Raptors have gone 8-2 during that stretch. "He's earned it," Casey said. Bargnani is rumored to be out another month with his injury and the Raptors are likely to merely showcase him for a trade upon his return. Both Davis and Amir Johnson are well worth carrying on most fantasy rosters.

Wed Jan 2 201321:54Ed Davis, Amir Johnson solid vs. Portland
Ed Davis hit 9-of-12 shots for 19 points and seven rebounds in another start on Wednesday, when the Raptors crushed the Blazers.
Amir Johnson came off the bench for 17 points, seven rebounds and a block, and you can flip a coin on which of these players is going to play better from night to night. And as long as Andrea Bargnani and Jonas Valanciunas are out, both are worth owning in most leagues.

Sat Dec 29 201221:45Ed Davis puts 18 points on the Magic
Ed Davis played 34 minutes against the Magic on Saturday and scored 18 points with seven rebounds, two assists and one block.
It's taken some time, but Davis is starting to settle in as the starter. He's been in double figures for scoring in four of his last five games and played 29.6 minutes per game in that span. He is worth owning in all leagues while Andrea Bargnani is out. Amir Johnson was quiet on Saturday with just six points, six boards and no blocks in 23 minutes. Amir should hold value in standard leagues with Jonas Valanciunas on the shelf.

Sat Dec 29 201202:22Ed Davis scores 13 points vs. Hornets
Ed Davis scored 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting with five rebounds, three assists, and one block over 29 minutes in Friday's overtime win.
Davis is producing at a late-round level and while owners were hoping for more, he should be owned in all 12-team formats while Andrea Bargnani is out.

Thu Dec 27 201201:29Ed Davis quiet in start for Raptors
Ed Davis started at power forward again on Wednesday, but had just six points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block on 3-of-7 shooting in 25 minutes.
Amir Johnson came off the bench for 12 points, six boards, a steal and a block in 24 minutes, and has outplayed Davis over the past couple weeks. Jonas Valanciunas is expected to miss four to six weeks with a broken finger, while Andrea Bargnani remains out with an elbow injury, so both healthy big men are going to continue to get run. And given the choice, we'd rather own Johnson than Davis for now.

Wed Dec 19 201223:26Ed Davis plays better in Wednesday's win
Ed Davis hit 5-of-7 shots for 11 points, nine rebounds and two blocks on Wednesday.
Amir Johnson went down with a right ankle injury and Andrea Bargnani is out indefinitely with an elbow injury. We were very high on Davis when Bargnani went down and he fizzled, but could finally be ready to start producing consistently. If you need a big man, he's still worth a serious look - especially if Johnson is going to miss time.

Tue Dec 18 201221:51Ed Davis quiet in win over Cavaliers
Ed Davis hit 2-of-7 shots for just four points, four rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes on Tuesday.
He didn't block a shot or grab a steal, and was overshadowed by Amir Johnson, who played very well off the bench. Davis is still starting in place of injured Andrea Bargnani, but after Sunday's late benching and tonight's disappointing line, it's becoming apparent he's going to be inconsistent regardless of his role for the Raptors. Davis should bounce back in his next game, but isn't the must-start fantasy player we thought he was going to be when Bargnani went down.

Sun Dec 16 201216:06Ed Davis rebounds with a solid outing
Ed Davis bounced back on Sunday with 13 points, six rebounds, two assists and three blocks in 26 minutes against the Rockets on Sunday.
Dwane Casey didn't give Davis run to close the game, which was a mild disappointment considering that Davis was playing well. He shot 6-of-9 from the field today and we still like him more than any other big man on the Toronto roster as a must-own player.
