Davis started in place of Carlos Boozer on Sunday, but fouled out early in the fourth quarter having scored only four points and five rebounds.
Coach Byron Scott has been looking for an interior defensive presence, and Ed Davis has shown that he values that end of the floor. However, Davis has not been with the starting lineup this season, and his production might take a hit for the first few games that he is in this role. Fouling out early in the fourth is not ideal, but Boozer's absence spells more production from Davis.

Davis came off the bench to play 19 minutes in a win against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. He posted six points, 11 rebounds, one assist, and one blocked shot.
Davis has been huge off the bench for the Lakers this season. He has shot 63 percent from the field and averaged 1.5 blocks thus far in this young season. His play has screamed for more minutes. Coach Byron Scott hinted at changes to his starting lineup this past week, Ed Davis instead of Carlos Boozer seems like the most logical move. Davis is worth a speculative add in all leagues in case he gets more run. He already provides decent value with limited minutes.

Davis scored 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-5 FT) in 33 minutes off the bench for the Lakers in a blowout loss to the Suns on Wednesday.
This was the Lakers' first game without Julius Randle, who was lost for the year Tuesday night with a fractured tibia. Carlos Boozer got the start at power forward, but Davis was more effective, pulling down nine rebounds (six of them on the offensive end), in addition to three assists, two steals and two blocks. While it's unlikely Boozer loses his starting spot any time soon, Davis could be in line for some major minutes with Randle's injury.

Davis scored 11 points (5-7 FG, 1-2 FT) with six rebounds, one steal, and two blocks in just 21 minutes before fouling out Tuesday in the blowout loss to the Rockets.
With the disheartening news of Julius Randle's leg fracture, Davis gets a bump in value as he'll now likely be the primary backup at both power forward and center, at least until we see how coach Byron Scott works Ryan Kelly into the rotation. Davis is a worth a look in leagues slightly deeper than standard, especially if you need rebounds and blocks.

Davis scored only four points (2-4 FG) with four boards and two assists, but a monster four blocks in 26 minutes Wednesday against the Blazers.
Davis has now blocked seven shots in his past 49 minutes of court time across two games and as the backup center to Jordan Hill, is an interesting streaming option for blocks off your waiver wire. If he was to start in the case of an injury, he should become a must own player due to his low end double-doubles and handy block numbers. He's one for your watchlist for now.

Davis played just 23 minutes off the bench, but was productive with 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, one assist, two steals, and three blocks Tuesday.
David has averaged 2.0 blocks per game this preseason in just 17 minutes, as well as shooting an ungodly 79 percent from the field. He looks like he'll be the primary backup to starting center Jordan Hill and will have value in deeper league, as evidenced by his productive preseason.

Davis came off the bench in Monday's preseason loss to the Nuggets, and scored 12 points (6-7 FG), grabbed just one rebound, but added a huge four blocks in just 12 minutes.
Davis staked his claim for the primary backup center job, with this incredibly efficient performance. Four blocks in 12 minutes is nothing to sneeze at and when given minutes in the past in Toronto, he's been very productive. The role he is likely to play in Los Angeles, however, dampens our enthusiasm for him in standard 10 or 12 team fantasy leagues.
Wed Jul 16 201422:45Big man Ed Davis signs with Lakers
Free agent forward Ed Davis has agreed to a two-year deal with the Lakers, reports Yahoo! Sports.
The Lakers need a little bit of everything and while Davis has the potential to be a nice player, he isn't likely to be a difference maker alongside Kobe. The deal is for two years and $2 million, with the second year being a player option.

Wed Jul 2 201416:37Clippers reach out to Ed Davis on deal
The Clippers have reached out to Ed Davis about a contract.
There was reported interest on Tuesday and the Clippers seem serious to replace Glen Davis with a fellow having the same surname. Ed was a bit of a letdown with the Grizzlies after a productive 2012-13 in Toronto. He'd backup Blake Griffin in L.A.

Tue Jul 1 201401:43Clippers interested in free agent Ed Davis
The Clippers are reportedly interested in unrestricted free agent Ed Davis.
Anybody watching Big Baby flopping around the court during the playoffs knows the Clippers need a quality backup power forward. Davis would certainly fit the bill and his market has softened since his time in Memphis.

Fri Jun 27 201414:17Ed Davis' departure from Grizzlies 'imminent'
Ed Davis will become a free agent this summer, and the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that his departure from the Grizzlies appears "imminent."
The Grizzlies haven't yet decided whether to extend a $4.3 million qualifying offer to make Davis a restricted FA, but either way it sounds like his tenure in Memphis is over. The four-year veteran averaged 5.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 15.2 minutes per game last season, and will need a much bigger role to be a reliable fantasy option.

Sat May 3 201414:28Ed Davis listed as starter w/ Z-Bo Suspended
Ed Davis is listed as the Grizzlies' probable starting PF for Saturday's Game 7 in Oklahoma City.
Davis started four games this season, averaging 10.3 points on 60 percent shooting, with 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 25 minutes per contest. The league isn't budging from their decision to suspend Zach Randolph and Memphis may also turn to guys like James Johnson, Kosta Koufos or Jon Leuer in his absence.

Wed Mar 5 201423:37Ed Davis invisible despite start for Z-Bo
Ed Davis started in place of Zach Randolph (illness) on Wednesday, but played just 13 minutes, missed both his shots and finished with zero points, one rebound and one block.
So much for that. Z-Bo won't be out for long and we're just hoping you didn't take the bait and toss Davis into a lineup tonight.

Thu Jan 16 201400:37Ed Davis plays well off bench vs. Bucks
Ed Davis stepped up on Wednesday with 14 points, nine boards and one assist on 7-of-8 shooting vs. the Bucks.
Marc Gasol played just 14 minutes tonight and Davis was a more effective player. That won't happen too often, so fantasy owners can pretty much disregard Boss' explosion tonight.

Sat Jan 11 201401:31Ed Davis goes for 10 and 17 off the bench
Ed Davis double-doubled with 10 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in 30 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Suns.
Davis also chipped in with three blocks and he had a similar line on Sunday, but he and fellow reserve Jon Leuer have oscillated in their production, and with Marc Gasol's return on the horizon he's a short-term desperation pickup at best.

Sun Jan 5 201416:23Like a Boss? Ed Davis double-doubles
Ed Davis was outstanding vs. the Pistons on Sunday with 17 points, 11 boards and one block on 7-of-11 shooting in 17 minutes.
He had a horrible start to the game with his first two minutes including two fouls, two turnovers and one rebound. Davis was getting the ball on the move in pick-and-rolls while also hitting the glass hard on both ends. He's been a little too inconsistent to pick up in most leagues, especially with Marc Gasol doing light workouts.

Sat Jan 4 201402:11Ed Davis cools off in loss to Nuggets
Ed Davis cooled off on Friday against the Nuggets, playing just 19 minutes with five points on 1-of-5 shooting, two rebounds and one steal.
Davis went for 16 and 11 on Thursday but predictably couldn't keep things up given his tenuous bench role. With Marc Gasol returning soon there's not enough to grab onto here for fantasy owners.

Fri Jan 3 201400:41Ed Davis double-doubles in win over Suns
Ed Davis hit 8-of-11 shots on his way to 16 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and zero blocks in just 22 minutes on Thursday.
This was quite a game for Davis, considering Zach Randolph had 20 points and 15 rebounds and Davis came off the bench. Davis is averaging 10.6 points and just 4.8 rebounds over his last five games and Marc Gasol is rumored to be nearing a return. Therefore, we'd recommend just leaving Davis on waivers for now. While this wasn't a season high in rebounds for Davis, it was the first time he hit double figures there since Dec. 3.

Sun Dec 29 201301:11Ed Davis scores 17 points in win
Ed Davis hit 6-of-8 shots for 17 points (and just one rebound) in 23 minutes off the bench on Saturday, but also had a steal and a block.
He appears to have passed Jon Leuer on the depth chart, but as long as Zach Randolph is healthy, probably won't have any fantasy value. Just keep an eye on him.
