Sun Mar 9 201422:57Terrence Jones vanishes vs. Blazers on Sunday
Terrence Jones vanished on Sunday, scoring two points with four rebounds in just 20 minutes of action.
Jones was struggling vs. LaMarcus Aldridge and the Rockets quickly found success with a small lineup, so coach Kevin McHale shifted gears and sat Jones for all but six minutes of the second half and overtime. This makes two straight duds for Jones, whose pattern of explosive weeks followed by stretches of barren production continue to be a thorn in his owners' side. With any luck he'll re-emerge as a force during Houston's upcoming three-game week, beginning Tuesday at Oklahoma City.

Wed Mar 5 201421:35Terrence Jones stays hot with 17 & 10
Terrence Jones stayed hot on Wednesday, hitting 8-of-10 shots and a 3-pointer for 17 points, 10 rebounds, a steal and two blocks in a win over the Magic.
Jones was playing on a back-to-back and the Rockets traveled from Houston to Orlando overnight. After going through a dreadful slump, TJ is rocking again, racking up double-doubles in three straight games and averaging 19.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks over that stretch. He could disappear again at any time, but it looks like he has reclaimed his hold on the power forward minutes after struggling for much of the month of February.

Wed Mar 5 201400:00Terrence Jones looks to be back, scores 19
Terrence Jones turned in another productive game against the Heat on Tuesday with 19 points, 12 boards, two assists, one block and one 3-pointer on 8-of-13 from the field in 35 minutes.
He was tenacious on both ends of the floor and gave the Rockets a terrific interior presence next to Dwight Howard. This was the plan all along and Jones' horrible February seems to be a thing of the past. Jones lit up the Pistons with a 22-point, 10-board game on Saturday, so hopefully you stayed patient with one of this year's breakout power forwards.

Sat Mar 1 201423:45Terrence Jones finally comes through in win
Terrence Jones had a long overdue positive outing on Saturday night vs. the Pistons with 22 points, 10 boards, one assist, one block and no turnovers on 10-of-15 shooting in 32 minutes.
February was not TJ's month. In his 10 games last month, Jones averaged just 10.0 points, 5.3 boards, 0.8 blocks, 0.4 steals and 0.3 triples. As a reminder, he lit it up in January with 15.8 points, 9.5 boards, 1.4 blocks, 0.9 steals and 0.2 triples in 33.4 minutes. His field goal shooting is also a plus, so it seems like a good idea to add him where he's available and hope March resembles January.

Thu Feb 27 201403:27Terrence Jones struggles again in loss
Terrence Jones had just four points, four rebounds and no blocks in 19 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Clippers.
It's officially time to panic, if not drop Jones. He might bounce back at some point this season, but he's in a prolonged slump, while Donatas Motiejunas and Omer Asik are quietly getting more minutes, and new acquisition Jordan Hamilton had a big game tonight. Jones is down to 8.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 0.4 blocks over his last five games in just 20.4 minutes. If you're in a standard league and there's someone on waivers playing well, making a move might pay off. Having said that, we still like TJ's game and Kevin McHale could unleash him again at any time, but the odds appear to be stacked against it from happening.

Wed Feb 26 201401:24Terrence Jones disappointing again for HOU
Terrence Jones hit 5-of-5 shots on Tuesday night, but was still disappointing, finishing with 11 points, two rebounds and a block in just 20 minutes.
We're not sure why Kevin McHale has soured on Jones, but we're getting worried. He had 15 points, seven boards and a block on Sunday, but was really struggling prior to that game. Shooting woes were to blame, but he's corrected that problem over his last two games and it's tough to read too much into tonight's line since the game was over after the first quarter. Here's to hoping he bounces back against the Clippers on Wednesday. If he doesn't, it might be time to start scouring the wire, although Omer Asik still doesn't appear to be a threat to TJ's starting job.

Mon Feb 24 201401:58Terrence Jones finally turns in a good game
Terrence Jones had a very long overdue game on Sunday with 15 points, seven boards, one steal and one block on 7-of-10 from the field vs. the Suns.
He shot a combined 7-of-22 from the field over his previous three and really needed to turn in a nice line tonight. Jones is capable of putting up big lines for his presence on defense and fantastic field goal percentages, so he should be held in all standard formats.

Fri Feb 21 201401:54Terrence Jones struggles yet again in loss
Terrence Jones shot 1-of-7 from the field for three points with six boards and one turnover in 18 minutes.
Coach Kevin McHale has never been slow to keep Jones on the bench when he doesn't have it and that was the case tonight. The troubling thing here is Jones is in a slump over his last five. He was just too good earlier this season and not much has changed around him, so his owners should try to weather the storm.

Thu Feb 20 201402:51Terrence Jones scores just four points in win
Terrence Jones played just 21 minutes during Wednesday's blowout win at Staples Center with 11 points, five boards and one 3-pointer.
The score was 81-55 when Jones checked out with 18 minutes left in the game and he did not return in garbage time, so the low minutes are nothing to worry about. Jones has been in a bit of a slump in his last four, averaging 7.8 points, 5.3 boards, 0.5 blocks and 0.5 steals, but the minutes have been there for the most part. His mini-slump is a bit of a false negative and he should remain owned in all standard leagues.

Thu Feb 13 201400:23Terrence Jones scores just four points in win
Terrence Jones scored four points with eight boards, two blocks and two turnovers in 31 minutes vs. the Wizards on Wednesday.
He had a two-point game on Saturday and might be at his lowest point in value in over two months. Jones had himself a nice January, averaging 15.8 points, 9.5 boards, 1.4 blocks and 0.9 steals on 54.9 percent shooting, so his owners will want to hang in there.

Tue Feb 11 201400:31Terrence Jones bounces back a little bit
Terrence Jones bounced back on offense with 14 points on 7-of-11 from the field, adding one assist and two steals in 29 minutes.
Jones played solid defense on Kevin Love and had a better night than his two-point game on Saturday. There was never really much to worry about here, but hopefully this game makes his owners feel a little better even though he didn't grab any rebounds.

Thu Feb 6 201400:11Terrence Jones goes off vs. Suns on Friday
Terrence Jones owned the paint against the Suns on Wednesday with 19 points, nine boards, two assists, three blocks and one 3-pointer on 8-of-12 shooting in 31 minutes.
Excluding his 3-pointer, all other of his seven field goal makes came inside the paint. Jones's efficiency has been magnificent in his last four games, making 66.7 percent of his shots for 18.3 points per game. His owners shouldn't be looking to sell high and he's in the mix for pickup of the year.

Thu Jan 30 201401:13Terrence Jones loses a bit of playing time
Terrence Jones played 32 minutes against the Mavericks during a win on Wednesday, scoring 16 points with five boards, one assist, two steals and five fouls on 7-of-10 shooting.
He didn't play in the last eight minutes of this game and kind of fell apart in the second half. Most of his fouls came in the third quarter and he was exposed on an island by Dirk Nowitzki. Jones is having a breakout season and there's no way his owners should be concerned, especially after he just scored 21 on Tuesday.

Tue Jan 28 201423:51Terrence Jones goes for 21 & 9 Tuesday
Terrence Jones, who had been struggling in his return from a thigh injury, hit 9-of-12 shots for 21 points, nine rebounds, a steal and a block as the Rockets beat the Spurs for the third time this season on Tuesday.
Jones' slump is over and if owners were getting frustrated, this should ease any concerns. He looks to be locked and loaded into the starting power forward job the rest of the way, and we'd be hard pressed to find a league he shouldn't be owned in.

Sat Jan 25 201422:59Terrence Jones quiet again in ugly loss
Terrence Jones hit 3-of-7 shots for eight points, six rebounds and a block in Saturday's ugly loss to the Grizzlies.
The entire team was in a funk tonight, but Jones hasn't looked great in either game since returning from a thigh injury. Hopefully this was his last off night and he'll get hot again starting on Tuesday against the Spurs, but going up against Tim Duncan is no joke. Donatas Motiejunas has fallen off a cliff with TJ's return, and failed to score in 12 minutes tonight.

Sat Jan 25 201403:32Jones (thigh) returns to action on Friday
Terrence Jones (thigh) returned to action on Friday, scoring nine points on 4-of-10 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 28 minutes.
It's not the greatest line but Jones was cooking pretty good before going down and a return game isn't the time to be nitpicky. Owners may want to consider their options in lineups until he gets hot again, though.

Fri Jan 24 201418:19Terrence Jones will 'give it a shot' Friday
Terrence Jones (thigh) is going through pre-game warmups for Friday's game against the Grizzlies and will "give it a shot" to play, according to coach Kevin McHale.
He sounds like he's got a very good chance to play after five days from his thigh bruise in practice. Jones was on fire before his injury and should be able to pick up where he left off. Fantasy owners should plug him back in their lineups.

Fri Jan 24 201409:57Terrence Jones remains a game-time call Fri.
Terrence Jones (thigh bruise) remains a game-time call for Friday's matchup against the Grizzlies.
Due to icy conditions in Houston, the morning shootaround has been canceled. So we won't have an update on Jones' status until 6:30pm ET at the very earliest, and he may take the decision until even closer to the 8pm ET tip. If Jones sits again, Donatas Motiejunas will likely draw another start. The Lithuanian is averaging 7.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 0.5 3-pointers in his two starts so far this season.

Thu Jan 23 201413:52Terrence Jones misses practice with illness
Terrence Jones (thigh) missed Thursday's practice due to an illness.
After missing the Rockets' last two games with a thigh bruise, Jones had seemed on track to play against the Grizzlies Friday before this news. We'll consider him questionable until more information comes out of Friday's shootaround, but Donatas Motiejunas and Omri Casspi are the players who stand to gain value if Jones is out again Friday.
