Tue May 3 202222:15Mitch Garver Blasts Two-Run Homer In Tuesday's Win
Texas Rangers catcher Mitch Garver went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. He took Ranger Suarez deep in the first inning for his third long ball of the season. He's off to a slow start at the plate with his new team. The 31-year-old is slashing .183/.272/.310 with three homers and eight RBI across 81 plate appearances in 2022. Garver has elite power and mashed 31 homers for the Twins in 2019. Fantasy managers should continue to stick with Garver in most league formats. The Rangers slugger should turn things around after his rough start and is expected to see close to everyday at-bats between catcher/designated hitter this season.

Sat Apr 9 202212:45Mitch Garver Absent From Saturday's Lineup
Texas Rangers catcher Mitch Garver is not in Saturday's lineup against the Toronto Blue Jays. After a monster performance in Friday's 10-8 loss, he will get a routine day off. The 31-year-old went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored. Fantasy managers with daily moves should remove Garver from their starting lineups. Jonah Heim is batting ninth and will handle catching duties for Saturday's game.

Sat Apr 9 202208:42Mitch Garver Homers In Rangers Debut
Texas Rangers catcher Mitch Garver had a strong debut for the team on Opening Day on Friday. The 31-year-old veteran went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored. He hit cleanup in the game, batting right behind two other recent additions to the team, Marcus Semien and Corey Seager. If Garver can stick in that No. 4 spot throughout the bulk of the season, he could be in store for a big year. The veteran hit 31 home runs over just 93 games back in 2019, but has struggled with injuries and inconsistent playing time since.

Sat Mar 12 202211:44Rangers Acquire Mitch Garver From Twins
The Texas Rangers acquired catcher Mitch Garver from the Minnesota Twins on Saturday in exchange for shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa and an unnamed prospect. Garver will be the team's new starting catcher in 2022, which those investing in Jonah Heim stock won't be too thrilled about. Garver broke out in 2019 with 31 home runs and 67 RBI in 359 plate appearances over 93 games, but he played in only 23 games in the shortened 2020 season and hit a putrid .167 with two long balls and five RBI. The 31-year-old backstop couldn't stay healthy in 2021 and hit .256/.358/.517 with 13 homers and 34 RBI in 68 games. RotoBaller currently has Garver ranked as the No. 11 fantasy catcher, but his ADP is surely to rise a bit with the move to a much more powerful lineup in Texas.

The Minnesota Twins activated catcher Mitch Garver (back) from the 10-day injured list. He is starting behind the plate and batting eighth in Tuesday's game against Alec Mills and the Chicago Cubs. Fri Aug 27 202118:24Mitch Garver Placed On 10-Day Injured List Friday
Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a lower back strain. Garver has missed five of the last seven games, sitting out Thursday due to back tightness, though it appears to be something that will require an extended absence. The backstop has been excellent when in the lineup, posting a .880 OPS with 13 homers in 182 at-bats, but has had some problems with injuries. Garver's absence will mean more playing time for Ryan Jeffers and Willians Astudillo. Jeffers suffered a heel injury during Thursday's contest- though he is toughing it out and is in Friday's lineup.

Mon Aug 9 202116:42Mitch Garver Sitting On Monday
Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver is absent from Monday's lineup for the contest against the White Sox. It's a routine day off for Garver, who has had a slight edge in the catching competition with Ryan Jeffers, having started five of the last seven games, going just 4-for-25, though two of his hits have been homers. Jeffers will bat seventh against White Sox ace Lucas Giolito. With six hits, including three homers and a double, in his last four starts, Jeffers possesses cheap upside at the catcher position in DFS formats on Monday.

It'll be Ryan Jeffers starting in Garver's place and hitting sixth on Saturday against Garcia. Jeffers could be worth a look as a streaming option in deeper leagues for fantasy managers in search of home runs. In 173 plate appearances this season, the 24-year-old is batting .214 with a .301 on-base percentage and nine home runs.

Sat Aug 7 202100:39Mitch Garver Belts 13th Homer
Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver swatted his 13th homer of the season in Friday's 5-4 win over Houston. Garver put the Twins on the board with a solo shot, a 393-footer that left his bat at 106.1 MPH. The veteran backstop is hitting just .227 on the season, but continues to provide fantasy managers with plenty of power, as evidenced by his .545 slugging percentage. Garver has gotten back to mashing fastballs in 2021, posting an insane .707 slugging percentage against the pitch, after just a .368 mark last year. That should continue to make him one of the better power-hitting options at his position.

Wed Aug 4 202111:31Mitch Garver Gets Day Off After Big Night At Plate
Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver is not in the lineup for Wednesday's matinee game against the Reds. Garver enjoyed a strong game Tuesday night, belting a three-run homer, his fourth since returning from the injured list in July. The veteran backstop has delivered solid value to fantasy managers who waited to select a catcher on draft day, posting a .907 OPS in 143 at-bats, good for the second-best mark of his career. Garver will cede the catching duties to Ryan Jeffers on Wednesday. Jeffers has seen sporadic playing time but has homered three times in his last two games, making him a low-risk DFS play.
