Scott Sizemore was forced from Saturday's workout with an apparent knee injury.

Wed Sep 28 201100:45Sizemore homers and doubles in win
Scott Sizemore homered and doubled to knock in three Oakland runs in Tuesday's 7-0 win against the Mariners.
He also walked. Sizemore has been a butcher at third base for Oakland after spending most of his career at second, but he's been decent offensively. He's batting .244/.340/.397 with 11 homers and 56 RBI in just 365 at-bats. Since he's making the minimum, the A's certainly have to be considering going forward with Sizemore as a 2012 regular. Still, upgrading at third base this winter can't be ruled out.

Thu Sep 22 201115:53Scott Sizemore out with shoulder tendinitis
Scott Sizemore was held out of Thursday's lineup against the Rangers due to shoulder tendinitis.
It doesn't sound like a major concern and he should be back in there Friday against the Angels. Eric Sogard made the start at third base on Thursday.

Wed Sep 14 201118:30Scott Sizemore goes hitless in loss
Scott Sizemore went 0-for-4 and committed his 16th error in Wednesday's loss to the Angels.
He has 13 errors in 80 games at third base for the A's. Now, he's still learning the position after spending most of his career at second, but that's still too many. He's been a solid hitter, and since he's making the minimum, the A's certainly have to be considering going forward with him as a 2012 regular. Still, upgrading at third base this winter can't be ruled out.

Tue Jul 19 201123:26Sizemore (neck) unlikely to play Wednesday
Athletics manager Bob Melvin said that Sizemore (jaw, neck) is unlikely to play Wednesday.
Not a surprise. Sizemore left Tuesday's game against the Tigers in the fourth inning after taking a fastball to his jaw/neck area. X-rays came back negative, but it's unlikely we'll see him until this weekend against the Yankees.

Tue Jul 19 201121:17Scott Sizemore listed as day-to-day
Scott Sizemore is listed as day-to-day after leaving Tuesday's game following a hit by pitch in the jaw/neck area.
X-rays were negative. You've got to think he'll probably be unavailable for a day or two, but it appears Sizemore won't need a trip to the disabled list. He entered Tuesday's game batting .264/.325/.418 in 32 games since joining the A's.

Scott Sizemore was removed from Tuesday's game after being hit by a pitch below the neck.
Sizemore was squared around to bunt and couldn't get away from one high and tight. He came out of the game right away, but at this point the severity of the ailment isn't known. We'll update his progress once more information is available.

Fri Jul 8 201123:05Scott Sizemore hits one out
Scott Sizemore belted a solo homer in Friday's loss to the Rangers.
Sizemore has really impressed at the dish since being called up last month, batting .314 with four longballs and 13 RBI over 87 at-bats. Though we don't expect that kind of production to continue over the long haul, he's certainly talented enough to help fantasy teams while he's hot.

Scott Sizemore homered and singled to knock in both Oakland runs in Wednesday's win.
Sizemore is hitting .325 with three homers in 80 at-bats since joining the A's last month. He's still not promised anything, but we expect him to hold on to the third-base gig the rest of the way.

Sun Jul 3 201119:05Scott Sizemore helps A's past D-Backs
Scott Sizemore went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBI in Oakland's 7-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Sizemore is now batting .343 with two home runs, six doubles and 10 RBI through his first 21 games in an A's uniform. You could do worse for a mixed-league flier.

Sat Jun 11 201100:16Sizemore, Weeks have big nights for A's
Scott Sizemore went 3-for-4 with three RBI in Oakland's 7-5 win over the White Sox on Friday, helping the A's snap a 10-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Jemile Weeks went 2-for-4 with a triple. It would do a world of good for the A's if both Sizemore and Weeks could get hot and stay hot, as Oakland has gotten comically little production from both second and third base this season.

Wed May 4 201114:19Sizemore batting second again Wednesday
Scott Sizemore is batting second again for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.
Sizemore was called up from the minors following Monday's game and went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI against the Yankees on Tuesday night. He's in a cozy spot in Jim Leyland's lineup, so he's well worth grabbing in AL-only leagues and even in some deeper mixed formats.

Tue May 3 201122:12Sizemore keeps raking, collects three hits
In his first game since being promoted from the minors, Scott Sizemore went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Tuesday's win versus the Yankees.
Batting second, the 26-year-old showed that he probably should have been summoned from Triple-A Toledo prior to early May. Sizemore was off to an incredible start offensively with the Mud Hens, batting .408/.495/.605 with two homers and 15 RBI over his first 92 plate appearances before getting the call to the bigs. He's well worth owning in AL-only leagues and could have mixed league relevance eventually if he continues to rake.

Mon May 2 201122:41Tigers send Rhymes down, call up Sizemore
Tigers recalled 2B Scott Sizemore from Triple-A Toledo.
That's what we thought. Sizemore, 26, was off to an incredible start offensively with the Mud Hens, batting .408/.495/.605 with two homers and 15 RBI over his first 92 plate appearances. His offensive potential far exceeds anything Will Rhymes could have offered, so he's well worth owning in AL-only leagues with a clear path to playing time at second base.

Mon May 2 201120:45Tigers' Sizemore a healthy scratch Monday
Scott Sizemore was a healthy scratch from Monday's game with Triple-A Toledo.
It's unlikely he was involved in a trade, so Tom Gage of the Detroit News speculates that he could be with the Tigers for Tuesday's game against the Yankees. Sizemore is batting .408/.495/.605 with two homers and 15 RBI over his first 92 plate appearances this season, so a promotion is a distinct possibility. Stay tuned in AL-only leagues.

Fri Apr 15 201114:14Tigers' Sizemore goes 3-for-6 in Triple-A
Scott Sizemore went 3-for-6 in Triple-A Toledo's doubleheader Thursday, raising his average to .421.
Sizemore also has a homer and four walks in 19 at-bats, so his OPS stands at 1.153. Will Rhymes, meanwhile, is hitting .216/.293/.216 with just two runs scored and two RBI in 37 at-bats for the Tigers. The team should consider a switch.
