Sat Feb 15 201417:15Ackley focusing on outfield work full-time
In the aftermath of the Robinson Cano signing, Dustin Ackley will focus entirely on working in the outfield during spring training.
Ackley split time between second base and the outfield last season, even appearing at first base six times. But with Cano holding down the keystone, the 25-year-old will be a full-time outfielder going forward. Ackley is likely to open the season as the Mariners' starting center fielder.

Tue Dec 17 201313:33Report: Yanks, M's reach dead end on Ackley
The Yankees and Mariners made no traction on a potential Dustin Ackley trade, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
Ackley owns an underwhelming .245/.315/.354 batting line over his first three seasons in the majors, but still retains some top prospect sheen. A change of scenery to get him out of Safeco Field might help, but Ackley apparently won't be relocating to the Big Apple. Still just 25-years-old, Ackley has shown that he can handle both second base and center field.

Tue Dec 10 201315:00Yanks, Mets, Padres have asked about Ackley
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Yankees, Mets and Padres have asked the Mariners about the availability of Dustin Ackley.
No word on whether the Mariners actually plan to move him. Ackley owns an underwhelming .245/.315/.354 batting line over his first three seasons in the majors, but he was highly-regarded for his hitting ability coming out of college and doesn't turn 26 until January. The Mariners used him as an outfielder during the second half of the season, but there's a chance he could be moved back to second base if he is traded elsewhere.

Sun Dec 8 201323:31Dustin Ackley drawing significant interest
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Mariners are receiving a lot of trade interest in Dustin Ackley.
The former top prospect struggled in the early part of 2013, but was a different player after returning from the minor leagues, slashing .285/.354/.404 with three homers and 23 RBI in his final 68 games. Still just 25-years-old, his potential and versatility make him a very attractive trade chip.

Thu Sep 19 201316:10Ackley hits three run homer vs. Tigers
Dustin Ackley launched a three-run home run Thursday against the Tigers.
The fifth-inning blast gave the Mariners the lead, but the bullpen was unable to hold it. Ackley was on a bit of a hot streak after returning from the minors, but this was just his third extra-base hit (and first home run) since August 28.

Fri Aug 30 201323:48Dustin Ackley has four hits, four RBI in win
Dustin Ackley's hot hitting continued Friday against the Astros, as he finished 4-for-5 with four RBI.

The 25-year-old is now hitting .411 this month and has pulled his batting average up from .215 to .261 in the process. With his multi-position eligibility, he could be a useful option down the stretch in deeper mixed leagues.

Dustin Ackley had another nice game Tuesday, finishing 3-for-3 with a walk against the Rangers.
Ackley has eight hits in four games, raising his average from .236 to .253. It's also pushed his on-base percentage over .300 for the first time all season. More power would be nice, but it's something to build on.

Tue Aug 13 201319:52Dustin Ackley to see more playing time
Mariners interim manager Robby Thompson said that Dustin Ackley will get an extended look in the outfield in the coming weeks.
Ackley has played in 24 of 39 games in the outfield since being recalled in late June. He's hit just .255/.302/.337 in those games, but the Mariners want to see how he handles center field on a regular basis. "We have to see what we have out there with Ackley in center field," Thompson said. "We kind of know what we have with Saunders in center and the corners. There's a chance we'll have Guti coming back -- and where he's going to fit in. So we're just trying to get Ack in there."

Sat Jun 29 201323:25Ackley to miss a few days with thumb sprain
X-rays on Dustin Ackley's left thumb came back negative.
The Mariners were worried he'd broken the thumb, but Mariners manager Eric Wedge said after the game that it was only a sprain. The Mariners will try to get by without him for a few days rather than making a roster move. Ackley will likely miss the rest of the weekend and possibly a few games next week with the injury, but as of now it looks like he'll avoid the disabled list.

Sat Jun 29 201321:55Dustin Ackley leaves with sprained left thumb
Dustin Ackley left Saturday's game after spraining his left thumb.

Fri Jun 28 201317:29Dustin Ackley starting in center field Friday
Dustin Ackley will make his first major league start in center field Friday against the Cubs.
Mariners manager Eric Wedge resisted playing Ackley there for a day game on Wednesday, but he'll have enough prep time leading up to Friday's game to get comfortable. Fresh off hitting .365/.472/.500 in 25 games with Triple-A Tacoma, the 25-year-old should get plenty of playing time between center field and left in the coming days with Franklin Gutierrez and Michael Morse both on the disabled list.

Wed Jun 26 201314:27Ackley held out of Wednesday's lineup
Mariners manager Eric Wedge said he didn't put Dustin Ackley in the starting lineup Wednesday because he wants him to get better acclimated to the outfield.
Wedge didn't think it was fair to put Ackley out there for Wednesday's matinee with no pre-game work time, so it sounds like he'll make his debut in the outfield on Friday. The 25-year-old has earned his way back to the majors after hitting .365/.472/.500 in 25 games with Triple-A Tacoma.

Wed Jun 26 201313:40Ackley not in Wednesday's lineup
Dustin Ackley is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Pirates.
Ackley was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday after batting .365/.472/.500 in 25 games. It's a little odd that the Mariners didn't throw him right in the lineup, but he's expected to see plenty of playing time in the outfield in the coming days.

Tue Jun 25 201319:19Dustin Ackley recalled from Triple-A
Mariners recalled INF/OF Dustin Ackley from Triple-A Tacoma.
With Nick Franklin playing so well, the Mariners plan to use Ackley in the outfield. He should see ample time in both left and center field with Michael Morse and Franklin Gutierrez on the disabled list. Ackley batted .365/.472/.500 in 25 games at Tacoma and should be considered for an addition to AL-only rosters.

Wed Jun 12 201320:11Dustin Ackley playing LF at Triple-A
Dustin Ackley is starting in left field for Triple-A Tacoma Wednesday.
Nick Franklin has looked good since his call-up, so the Mariners are looking for other ways to get Ackley into the lineup when he returns. He could also potentially see some time at first base. Ackley is batting .429/.536/.607 with two homers over 13 games at Tacoma since being demoted last month.

Mon Jun 10 201300:06Mariners could recall Dustin Ackley
The Seattle Times believes the Mariners should call up Dustin Ackley from Triple-A Tacoma.
Ackley is batting .408/.508/.592 and has at least one hit in 11 straight games since being demoted. The Mariners have struggled offensively, so he could be a potential solution. Alex Liddi or Carlos Triunfel are candidates to be sent down if Ackley is recalled.
