Moreover, he has some exploitable splits if you're in a league with enough flexibility to move him in-and-out of the lineup on a daily basis. His road OPS is .140 points higher than at home (.773 vs. .633), and he hits right-handers much better than lefties (.759 vs. .585).

He had been dealing with a stiff back earlier in the week, but it appears he's over that ailment for now. Ackley has posted an impressive .311 average with four home runs and four steals in 31 games since the All-Star break.

June ended with Ackley batting .214/.273/.329, but in 29 games since, he's batting .346/.364/.523 with 13 extra-base hits. He needs to keep up the solid hitting to ensure his starting spot. The acquisitions of Austin Jackson and Chris Denorfia couple with the imminent return of Michael Saunders from the DL, could squeeze Ackley's playing time, or at least put him in a platoon with Denorfia. Ackley has increased his line-drive rate during his hot streak, but he saw a similar hot run last August when he batted .390.

He's pushed his line to .258/.305/.389 for the season, but an opportunity to hit second in the Mariners' new look lineup may bump up his value with addition runs scored if he hits enough to stay in front of Robinson Cano and Kendrys Morales.
