Ackley went 3-for-5 with three runs scored Sunday in the Mariners' comeback win over the Red Sox.
RotoWire's Andrew Martinez chronicled Ackley's recent success in his recent AL FAAB article. The overall .256/.306/.400 line for him isn't anything special, yet it marks a level of improvement over last season. Moreover, he has some exploitable splits if you're in a league with enough flexibility to move him in-and-out of the lineup on a daily basis. His road OPS is .140 points higher than at home (.773 vs. .633), and he hits right-handers much better than lefties (.759 vs. .585).

Ackley is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Phillies, Shannon Drayer of 710 AM ESPN Seattle reports.

Ackley hit his third home run in the last six games Wednesday and seventh of the season as he continued his recent hot streak.
June ended with Ackley batting .214/.273/.329, but in 29 games since, he's batting .346/.364/.523 with 13 extra-base hits. He needs to keep up the solid hitting to ensure his starting spot. The acquisitions of Austin Jackson and Chris Denorfia couple with the imminent return of Michael Saunders from the DL, could squeeze Ackley's playing time, or at least put him in a platoon with Denorfia. Ackley has increased his line-drive rate during his hot streak, but he saw a similar hot run last August when he batted .390.

Ackley went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three runs scored in the Mariners' win over Baltimore on Saturday night.
Ackley has been hot recently, collecting a hit in six of the Mariners' last seven games including four multi-games during that span. He's pushed his line to .258/.305/.389 for the season, but an opportunity to hit second in the Mariners' new look lineup may bump up his value with addition runs scored if he hits enough to stay in front of Robinson Cano and Kendrys Morales.

The Mariners hope it's a sign of things to come, as Ackley's numbers overall aren't too great -- he has a .256/.303/.372 slash line with four home runs and 34 RBI.

Ackley has hit only .242/.310/.351 across parts of four seasons in the majors, but many still feel that the former top prospect has untapped potential. He wouldn't be the headliner in any deal, but Ackley could turn out to be a nice buy low opportunity as a secondary piece.

Dustin Ackley launched a two-run homer off Trevor Bauer in a losing effort against the Indians on Sunday.
Ackley, who got the start in center field, went 2-for-3 on the day. He maintains second base eligibility in most fantasy formats, and with his likelihood of securing a starting spot in the M's outfield makes for a savvy play as a middle infielder in the mid-to-late rounds of mixed league drafts.

Fri Feb 21 201410:34Dustin Ackley to play left field for Mariners
Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said Friday that he sees Dustin Ackley as a left fielder rather than a center fielder.
Ackley played mostly center down the stretch last season, and most figured that's where he'd wind up this year. However, it appears they feel more comfortable with him in left and Michael Saunders in center. Seattle plans to use Corey Hart in right field.
