Manager Dave Roberts said Baez was hit by a warmup pitch thrown by Adam Liberatore and received medical attention. "It was not a 90 mph fastball, but Lib was getting loose and airmailed one and hit him in the back of the head," Roberts said. Baez will be re-evaluated on Thursday morning.

Baez has allowed eight runs in his last eight appearances and has succeeded eighth inning duties to Chris Hatcher it appears.

Baez does have a 9:0 K:BB in those eight innings, so his control is fine. Still, he'll need to learn to command his pitches in and out of the zone better to move back into a more prominent bullpen role.
