Sun Aug 28 201119:28Floyd wins for the 12th time
Gavin Floyd picked up his 12th win of the season by limiting the Mariners to two earned runs over 7 1/3 innings Sunday.
Floyd struck out six, walked none and yielded five hits. It's Floyd's second straight dominant outing as he he shut out the Rangers over seven innings last Sunday. He likely won't fair as well against the hot-hitting Tigers next week, but is still worth a fantasy start in most formats.

Fri Jul 22 201122:59Gavin Floyd wins 8th
Gavin Floyd moved to 8-9 Friday, tossing 7 2/3 scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and no walks in a 3-0 win over the Indians.
He struck out five. Floyd has been his usual inconsistent self this season, but he's been more good than bad of late with nice results in four of his last five outings. Though a 6.4 K/9 rate is a little under what you'd normally expect, his 4.11 ERA and 1.20 WHIP are perfectly digestible. He'll face the Tigers the next time out.

Fri Jul 8 201123:58Floyd K'od by Twins
Gavin Floyd was blasted for seven runs on nine hits and two walks over just 3 2/3 innings in Friday's loss to the Twins.
Things fell apart for Floyd in the fourth, when he allowed four singles, hit a batter and threw a wild pitch before giving way to Will Ohman, who allowed a pair of inherited runners to score on a Luke Hughes blast. Though he hasn't had any issues pitching at his hitter-friendly home park in the past, Floyd has been woeful at US Cellular this season, holding a 6.26 ERA over seven outings. He hasn't won since June 1 and will bring a 4.59 ERA and 1.26 WHIP into the break.

Floyd has now alternated good and bad outings the last five times out, frustrating his head-to-head league owners. He continues to be stingy with the walks, as he hasn't handed out more than two free passes in any of his nine starts. He'll take his 5-3 record, 3.88 ERA and 1.14 WHIP into next week's start versus the Rangers.

Sat May 14 201119:16Gavin Floyd gives up five runs in loss
Gavin Floyd allowed five runs over 4 1/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the A's.
Floyd had his worst start of the year so far against one of the league's weakest offenses, suggesting that the bruised ankle he suffered last time out was a factor today. He's now 4-3 with a 4.22 ERA for the season. Still, he's a good play in most leagues.
