Deng (calf) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Mavericks, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Deng will miss a second straight game with a calf injury, meaning Danny Granger will likely notch another start at small forward. Deng should be considered day-to-day, though the fact that he's been ruled out well in advance of Friday's contest doesn't bode well for his status for Sunday's game in Boston.

Deng notched a season-high in assists Thursday and proved why he should be on rosters in virtually every depth of league. This is especially true for as along as Chris Bosh (calf) remains on the sidelines since Deng will have more opportunities to touch the ball.

After putting up a great performance on Tuesday, the team came out flat on Wednesday and Deng was no exception. He only contributed in points and rebounds for counting stats, but he did manage to shoot 50 percent from the field. He missed his only three point shot attempt.

Deng scored 23 points (9-12 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT) and added four rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks in 34 minutes of action on Tuesday against the Suns.

This is the best line Deng has put up in quite some time. In the last two weeks, prior to this game, Deng's highest scoring night was 13 points against the Grizzlies. This was a nice bounce back game and as long as he can stay healthy he will continue to play solid fantasy games.
