Deng (hand) is officially listed as active for Friday's game against the Bucks, despite earlier reports that he would not play.
The Heat originally had Deng not playing Friday and his official designation as active doesn't mean that he'll necessarily take the court. Even so, he'll be an option for coach Erik Spoelstra if needed.
Fri Dec 5 201413:38Luol Deng: (Hand) Out Friday
Deng (hand) will not play Friday against the Bucks.
As expected, Deng will miss his second game of the season and should be considered day-to-day moving forward. His next opportunity to get on the court will be against the Grizzlies on Sunday.
Thu Dec 4 201417:33Deng (hand) likely to miss time due to bruised hand
Deng (hand) is likely to miss time due to his bruised hand, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Deng had X-rays on the hand that came back negative, but he was unable to undergo an MRI due to the continued swelling. "I wish it would have made more improvement today than [Wednesday], but there's still some swelling in it," Deng said. "But we'll see. I'm still going to take it day by day, try to be back as quick as I can." Deng sustained the injury against the Hawks on Wednesday and did not play in the second half. He said he's going to "give it a couple days," which would imply that he'll miss Friday's game against Milwaukee. However, the team is yet to officially rule him out, so there is still a chance he could take the court. After the Milwaukee game, the Heat play again Sunday in Memphis.
Thu Dec 4 201413:52Deng (hand) limited during Thursday's practice
Deng (hand) was limited during Thursday's practice.
Deng was forced out of Wednesday's game with a bruised hand, and the injury was severe enough that he underwent a precautionary X-ray. The swingman is presumably still dealing with significant discomfort, so he should be considered questionable for Friday's meeting with Milwaukee.

Deng's X-rays on his bruised hand came back negative after he was forced out of Wednesday's game, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Deng said he would require no further MRI after he was cleared of any structural damage to the hand. That being said, he's undoubtedly still experiencing some pain, so it's too early to determine if he'll be ready to go for Friday's game against the Bucks. Deng accumulated five points and three rebounds in 17 minutes Wednesday before leaving the floor.

Deng has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game due to a bruised right hand.
Deng had five points and three rebounds for the Heat over 17 minutes prior to exiting. The ailment doesn't sound overly serious, but look for him to be a game-time decision Friday against the Bucks. James Ennis and Shawne Williams should see increased run if Deng has to miss additional time.

Deng scored 16 points (6-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), with three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes during Tuesday's loss to the Warriors.
Deng seems to be getting his shooting stroke back after his wrist injury. He'll be a player to keep an eye on from a fantasy perspective, and he's looking like a safe bet to put back into your lineups if you need some scoring.
Thu Nov 20 201422:52Deng (wrist) started against Clippers Thursday night
Deng (wrist) started against the Clippers Thursday night, according to ESPN, despite an earlier report that said he would come off the bench.
Deng scored 13 points (5-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT) in a loss to the Clippers. He added on five rebounds as well. Deng seems to be healthy now and should be good to go in all formats.
Thu Nov 20 201418:33Luol Deng: (Wrist) Will Play Thursday
Deng (wrist) will play Thursday against the Clippers, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Deng was initially ruled doubtful Wednesday, but went through shootaround Thursday and was later expected to play. That report has now been confirmed, and he is also expected to start, meaning he could be in for a good amount of minutes.

Deng (wrist) went through shootaround Thursday and could play against the Clippers, Shandel Richardson of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Deng injured his wrist against the Bucks on Sunday and missed Monday's matchup with the Nets. The veteran was initially considered doubtful to play Thursday, so his status is something to closely monitor as the 8:00 PM ET tip nears.
Wed Nov 19 201417:18Deng (wrist) doubtful for Thursday's game against Clippers
Deng (wrist) is doubtful for Thursday's game against the Clippers, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Deng has been plagued by the wrist injury early in the month. He missed Monday's contest after playing in a stretch of games, and will likely miss Thursday as well. James Ennis received most of Deng's lost minutes Monday, which could be the case again Thursday.
Wed Nov 19 201412:43Deng (wrist) limited in Wednesday's practice
Deng (wrist) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
He missed Monday's game with a minor wrist injury and should be considered questionable for Thursday's game against the Clippers. James Ennis was the primary beneficiary of his absence Monday.
Mon Nov 17 201418:29Deng (wrist) will play Monday against Nets
Deng (wrist) will play Monday against the Nets, Tim Bontemps of the New York Post reports.
Deng is dealing with a minor wrist injury but went through shootaround and will take the court Monday. The veteran struggled against the Bucks on Sunday (3-11 FG), but he'll once again be asked to handle a heavier load offensively with Dwyane Wade (hamstring) sidelined for the third straight game.
Wed Nov 5 201418:39Deng (arm) will start Wednesday
Deng (arm) will start Wednesday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Ira Winderman reports.
He took a shot to his elbow during Tuesday's game, but it is something he will be able to play through.
Wed Nov 5 201417:45Deng (arm) expected to play in Wednesday's game against Hornets
Deng (arm) is expected to play in Wednesday's game against the Hornets, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Deng took a hit to his elbow during Tuesday's game against the Rockets, but apparently the issue won't be enough to prevent him from suiting up just one night later. The Heat's offseason addition is expected to start at his usual small forward position versus the Hornets, who will be without Deng's projected counterpart Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (chest) Wednesday.

Deng is questionable for Wednesday night's game versus the Hornets after being hit in the arm in Tuesday's game against the Rockets, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra told the Sun Sentinel that Deng "wasn't quite the same" after he was hit on the arm. If Deng is unable to go Wednesday, Danny Granger would get the start if he returns from a hamstring injury. If Granger can't go, either, James Ennis would likely start.

Deng (back) was able to finish Wednesday's opener with 12 points (4-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, one assist, and one block in 30 minutes.
Deng was dealing with some lower back tightness towards the end of the preseason but was able to hit the court when it mattered and he won't likely be restricted moving forward. In terms of his performance on the court, the 29-year-old had an underwhelming performance Wednesday and may ultimately take a back seat to Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade on the offensive side of the ball this season. This doesn't necessarily diminish Deng's value, but it seems clear, at least early on, that Deng will likely have the same impact as in year's past.

Deng is dealing with some lower back tightness and will not play in Friday's preseason game against the Grizzlies.
Deng's injury shouldn't concern any of his owners heading into the regular season as the Heat want to keep their newly acquired small forward well rested moving forward. The Heat play the Wizards on Wednesday to start the regular season and it would be surprising if Deng was not on the court.
Sun Jul 13 201414:38Luol Deng signs with Heat for two years, $20M
Luol Deng has agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal with the Heat.
With Chris Bosh, Josh McRoberts and Deng under contract and Dwyane Wade expected to sign imminently, the Heat have quickly re-emerged as a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference. Deng struggled last season due to an Achilles injury, and never fit in with the Cavaliers, but he should be a decent pick in the late rounds for owners willing to gamble on a bounce-back season with the Heat.

Sun Jul 13 201411:28Report: Luol Deng and MIA not close on salary
Unrestricted free agent Luol Deng and the Heat are still very far apart in terms of coming to an agreement on an annual salary, according to sources.
While the Heat seem to be Deng's preferred destination, he's not interested in signing for $10 million per season. Deng turned down Chicago's three-year, $30 million extension last season, so it's not likely that Miami's reported offer of two-years, $20 million is very enticing to him. Still, Miami remains the favorites to land Deng, and perhaps Pat Riley can convince him to cave a bit on his salary demands.
