Williams (knee) started and scored five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt) while adding two rebounds and a steal in 23 minutes against the Suns Friday.
Williams had been listed as doubtful earlier in the day, but he managed to play through his injury. Even when fully healthy Williams never really stuffs a box score, but his production Friday was below his own average in almost every category. Unfortunately for fantasy players, Williams' nightly production is so low in the first place that it is hard to tell if the below-average night was due to the injury or just random nightly variance. If it was the injury that hampered Williams, then managers should take caution using him Saturday, since he will have little time to recover before his next game. If not, however, then Williams remains a sneaky source of threes while providing enough value across several other categories to be a useful option in deep leagues.
Fri Nov 14 201421:37Williams (knee) in starting lineup Friday against Suns
Williams (knee) is in the starting lineup Friday against the Suns.
Williams will not only suit up for Friday's game, but will also start. He was initially considered doubtful after it was revealed he was dealing with tendinitis in his left knee. If he is limited in his minutes, Cody Zeller and Jason Maxiell could be the beneficiaries of added time.
Fri Nov 14 201420:03Williams (knee) will suit up Friday against Phoenix
Williams (knee) will suit up Friday against Phoenix, Suns.com reports.
Williams was considered doubtful heading into the contest, but it appears the Hornets feel comfortable enough with his health to keep him active Friday. However, the report notes that Williams will be monitored in the early going just to make sure his knee is sound, potentially putting him at risk of seeing playing time below the 27 minutes he's averaged this season. The veteran forward is a solid rotation player for the Bobcats, but with averages of 7.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists, he hasn't produced enough counting stats to make much of an impact in fantasy circles.

Williams (knee) is considered doubtful for Friday's game against the Suns, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Williams is dealing with tendinitis in his left knee, which flared up following Tuesday's game against the Blazers. If he is, indeed, unable to go, Cody Zeller will likely get the start at power forward. Williams is averaging 7.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 48.0 percent from the field on the season.

Williams is averaging 27.7 minutes over the first six games of the season and seems to be a staple in the starting lineup.
Williams has been limited to just 7.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.7 steals over the first six games. However, there's certainly value here in deeper leagues as Williams gets consistent minutes as a starter and has remained relatively healthy over his career.

Williams (elbow) was able to play 27 minutes during the preseason matchup against the Pacers on Thursday.
With Thursday's appearance, Williams seems to have gotten through his spat with an elbow contusion and is poised to be ready for the start of the regular season against the Bucks on Wednesday. Despite being the starting power forward for the Bobcats this season, Williams won't be the focal point of the offense and will take a backseat to the likes of Kemba Walker, Lance Stephenson, and Al Jefferson.
Mon Oct 20 201418:14Williams (elbow) will not play Monday against Hawks
Williams (elbow) will not play Monday against the Hawks.
Williams is listed as out with a right elbow contusion, presumably suffered during Sunday's loss to the Bulls. It doesn't look like anything serious, though, and Williams remains on track to open the season as the starting power forward, where he should see plenty of time on the perimeter.

Williams (knee) will open the 2014-15 season as the Bobcats' starting power forward, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Coach Steve Clifford made the call during Monday's media day, leaving just one starting spot up to the preseason performance of Gerald Henderson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. In 50 starts with the Jazz last year, Williams contributed 9.3 points (on 44 percent shooting), 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 threes, 1.2 assists, and 0.8 steals in 26 minutes per game. Similar run should be expected with 2013 first-round pick, Cody Zeller, behind Williams on the depth chart.
Mon Jul 21 201415:21Hornets officially sign Marvin Williams
The Hornets officially signed Marvin Williams on Monday.
"We're excited to add a player of Marvin's caliber to our team," said Hornets GM Rich Cho. "He will be a key piece of our frontcourt rotation with his versatility and ability to play both forward positions." It appears that the Hornets will be starting Williams, but that doesn't mean that he'll be a fantasy factor in standard leagues. Williams averaged 9.3 points, 5.2 rebound, 1.2 assists, and 1.3 three-pointers as a starter for the Jazz last season.

Sat Jul 12 201419:33Marvin Williams signs with the Hornets
Marvin Williams agreed to terms with the Hornets on a two-year, $14 million deal.
Teams continue to fork over serious money and the Hornets were certainly going to overpay after missing out on Gordon Hayward. He is likely going to start and the Hornets could use him as a stretch for as the game progresses. Williams hasn't been a fantasy factor in awhile if ever, so owners in standard leagues can leave him be.

Sat Jul 12 201414:41Hornets going after Marvin Williams
The Hornets are expected to focus on unrestricted free agent Marvin Williams.
The Jazz matching on Gordon Hayward was really the best news for Williams. The Hornets have enough room to sign a couple players, so Hayward's former teammate could be a backup plan behind Lance Stephenson. Charlotte wouldn't be a great landing spot for his playing time with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Jeff Taylor as his primary competition.

Tue Jul 8 201420:38Report: Hornets pursuing FA Marvin Williams
The Hornets are reportedly pursuing FA F Marvin Williams, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Williams was a bit of a mess for the Jazz last season, but did start most of the time. The Hornets need a forward after losing Josh McRoberts, and it looks like they've got their sights set on the former No. 2 pick.

Tue Jul 8 201413:03Miami no longer in mix for Marvin Williams
The Miami Heat are no longer in the mix for unrestricted free agent Marvin Williams.
Williams had met with Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra recently, but will no longer be in play for the Heat after they used their mid-level exception on Josh McRoberts. The former No. 1 overall pick averaged 9.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.3 three-pointers in 66 games with the Jazz last season and has also reportedly been in contact with the Spurs, Wizards, Hornets, Clippers, Magic, and Suns. Williams could serve as a decent late-round target in fantasy drafts if he lands in the right situation, but he's not a player that owners should be targeting.

Sun Jul 6 201413:22Report: Heat brass meet with Marvin Williams
Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra reportedly flew out to North Carolina to meet with unrestricted free agent Marvin Williams on Saturday.
That's an interesting development, but Marvin Williams just doesn't seem like the type of big name free agent that would lure LeBron James back to Miami. Williams has also been in contact with the Spurs, Wizards, Hornets, Clippers, Magic, and Suns. He averaged 9.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.3 three-pointers through 66 games with the Jazz last season.

Fri Jul 4 201418:08Marvin Williams talking to several teams
Marvin Williams has been talking to the Spurs, Heat, Wizards, Hornets, Clippers, Magic and Suns.
He's said he'd like to stay in Utah, but the somewhat thin small-forward market should create some demand for Williams. He is coming off a heel injury from last season and never really got it going, but the Jazz used him as a stretch four throughout the year.

Tue Jul 1 201410:23Marvin Williams wants to stay in Utah
Marvin Williams "loves Utah and really wants to be with the Jazz" and the team is expected to meet with him on Tuesday, according to Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune.
The Jazz do not need Williams as much as they did last week with a fine draft pick in Rodney Hood at 23 on Thursday. Williams had a tough time staying healthy, only 25.5 percent of his buckets came unassisted, and only had four makes in isolation (Synergy) last season. Teams probably won't be too eager to sign him until the small-forward well dries up.

Sun Jun 29 201416:49Marvin Williams garnering interest as FA
The Jazz are expected to meet with free agent Marvin Williams on Tuesday, but he's also drawing "significant interest" from teams with championship aspirations.
Williams is 6'9" and has the ability to stretch the court (35.9 percent from deep last season), and he's unlikely to command a large annual salary. That makes him an appealing target for teams attempting to improve their bench cheaply, and we should learn exactly which teams are interested soon after free agency begins on July 1.

Mon Apr 14 201420:23Marvin Williams will not play on Monday
Marvin Williams (knee) will not play against the Lakers on Monday.
He was doubtful to play all day and is on the inactive list. Williams is likely not going to come back on Wednesday and can be cut in all fantasy leagues. The Jazz will start Trey Burke, Alec Burks, Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter.

Mon Apr 14 201416:12Marvin Williams doubtful for Monday
Marvin Williams (knee) is doubtful to play against the Lakers on Monday.
He missed shootaround and is likely out for the season. This game has major implications for ping-pong balls and there's little reason to think Williams will be out there. The Jazz started Alec Burks on Saturday and will likely do so again.

Fri Apr 11 201420:20Marvin Williams will not play on Friday
Marvin Williams (knee) will not play on Friday night.
He's been dealing with some knee pain and he's likely out for the season. Enes Kanter should be good to go agains the Blazers and is basically a must-start option.
