Thu Apr 10 201411:48Marvin Williams (knee) sits out practice
Marvin Williams will sit out Thursday's practice and is doubtful for Friday's game with a bruised left knee.
This is good news for Enes Kanter, who should be in the starting lineup with Marvin in street clothes. Kanter had a big game on Wednesday with 15 points and 19 boards.

Tue Apr 8 201421:43Marvin Williams leaves with knee injury
Marvin Williams left Tuesday's game and will not return after aggravating his left knee injury.
Give Marvin credit for trying to power through it, although we still don't understand why he was starting (again) over Enes Kanter. Williams is day-to-day.

Tue Apr 8 201420:06Marvin Williams will start for Jazz
Marvin Williams will start for the Jazz on Tuesday, despite a knee injury that required an MRI.
While it hasn't been announced that Enes Kanter will come off the bench, it's looking like the case. The Jazz must really, really not want to start Kanter alongside Derrick Favors. Kanter still has a good matchup against the Mavericks, but we'd feel a lot better about his chances of success if Marvin were in street clothes. Or at least coming off the bench.

Tue Apr 8 201412:40Marvin Williams a game-time call Tuesday
Marvin Williams had an MRI that revealed a bone bruise in his left knee, leaving him questionable for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks.
Owners of Enes Kanter should be hoping for a DNP from Williams, otherwise, Kanter might come off the bench.

Mon Apr 7 201412:55Marvin Williams battles knee inflammation
Marvin Williams sat out Monday's practice due to left knee inflammation.
The only good news is that it's not his right knee, which caused him trouble due to inflammation in early 2013 and required multiple injections to calm the swelling. He's listed as a game-time decision for Tuesday's game vs. the Mavericks.

Tue Apr 1 201402:34Williams grabs 10 boards in start for Jazz
Marvin Williams moved into the starting lineup for matchup purposes in the Jazz's 92-83 loss to the Knicks on Monday, scoring five points on 2-of-5 shooting (including a three) with 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes.
Williams has been a top-100 play in 9-cat leagues over the last four games where his one turnover during that span significantly helps his value. He's nowhere near a safe bet to keep that up at this stage of the year, however, so owners should proceed with caution.

Mon Mar 31 201420:14Marvin Williams starting at power forward
Marvin Williams will start at power forward against the Knicks on Monday.
Enes Kanter will move to the bench tonight with the Knicks playing without Amare Stoudemire (rest). Williams is still not an option in most leagues while Kanter still has a good chance to put up a double-double.

Tue Mar 25 201401:45Williams scores 11 points with seven boards
Marvin Williams scored 11 points on 5-of-13 shooting with seven rebounds and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Williams has been hit or miss lately and needs another mentionable game like this before we'll endorse an add in most formats.

Wed Mar 19 201423:11Marvin Williams scores nine off the bench
Marvin Williams played 23 minutes off the bench against the Grizzlies, scoring nine points with five boards, one assist, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer.
He's going to be thrown in and out of the starting lineup as the Jazz play the matchups, but he should find his minutes in the mid 20s more often than not. Williams hasn't really been a per-minute dynamo, so he'll likely be too inconsistent to be counted on in most formats.

Wed Mar 19 201418:34Marvin Williams back to the bench
Marvin William will come off the bench vs. the Grizzles on Wednesday.
His minutes dropped to just 20 in the starting lineup on Monday and he might be that neighborhood again tonight. Williams has had some good stretches thanks to shooting the ball well, but that's not happening with a field goal percentage of 33.8 over his last 10 games. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.

Mon Mar 17 201423:00Marvin Williams scores five points in start
Marvin Williams moved back into the starting lineup against the Rockets on Monday, finishing with five points, two boards, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 20 minutes.
He returned from a back injury with an eight-point game on Sunday, so he has come out flat. Williams has been up and down throughout his nine-year career and even staying in the starting lineup doesn't mean he'll be putting up value worth using in standard leagues.

Mon Mar 17 201418:39Marvin Williams starting, Kanter to bench
Marvin Williams will start against the Rockets on Monday night.
He returned to action on Sunday from a back injury and came off the bench, but coach Ty Corbin will put Williams back in his usual starting spot tonight. Williams is not playing well these days and he shot just 35.4 percent from the field in his previous nine games. He can be ignored in most leagues at least until he turns it around.

Sun Mar 16 201421:46Marvin Williams, Kanter to swap starting job
Marvin Williams (lower back strain) returned to action on Sunday after missing one game, coming off Utah's bench for eight points, four rebounds, two assists and one block in 26 minutes.
Head coach Ty Corbin said before the game that Marvin will share the starting job with Enes Kanter (eight points, 11 boards in 22 minutes). "We'll go back and forth depending on matchups," Corbin said. "And we'll manage Marvin and do the right thing to make sure he can finish the season." Fantasy owners in standard leagues should be scared off by the prospect of Williams playing limited minutes while yo-yoing between the starting lineup and bench.

Sun Mar 16 201418:11Marvin Williams back, Kanter still starts
Marvin Williams (back) is available to play against the Spurs on Sunday, but will come off the bench.
Enes Kanter wil get the start again after playing well in the past few games. Williams has very little fantasy value for his inconsistent stat lines. Kanter owners should keep him active until he cools off.

Sun Mar 16 201412:18Marvin Williams expects to play on Sunday
Marvin Williams (back) said that he feels fine, and expects to play in Sunday's game vs. the Spurs.
Nothing is official just yet, but all signs are pointing towards Marvin making his return on Sunday. Ty Corbin is reportedly leaning towards starting Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors to match-up better with the Spurs larger frontcourt, which would bring Williams off the bench. That could be very good news for Kanter, as Williams has really limited his value while starting. Stay tuned as we will have more updates closer to the tip.

Sat Mar 15 201420:10Marvin Williams is a game-time call
Marvin Williams (back) is a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Spurs.
His lower back strain kept him out of action on Friday and he's been on the injury report since Thursday. Williams does have some history of back problems, so the Jazz might want to keep him out of the lineup. They were able to hang around with the Clippers on Friday night with a frontcourt of Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter, so they might go that route in the starting lineup again.

Sat Mar 15 201409:14Jazz await Marvin Williams (back) MRI results
The Jazz are awaiting MRI results on Marvin Williams' ailing back, which caused him to miss Friday's game.
There is some cause for apprehension since Williams has dealt with a variety of back problems for the past seven years, including minor surgery related to a bulging disc in 2011. The Jazz are 0-12 in his absence this season. Check back soon for the test results.

Fri Mar 14 201419:24Marvin Williams won't play on Friday night
Marvin Williams (lower back) will not play on Friday vs. the Clippers.
His back injury has bothered him for the past few days and he could miss more time. Williams missed several games due to a back injury back in his Hawks days, so this isn't his first issue. Enes Kanter will get the start and should have a good chance to produce some solid stats vs. DeAndre Jordan.

Fri Mar 14 201412:58Marvin Williams skips shootaround
Marvin Williams (back) missed shootaround Friday.
Williams is scheduled for a 1pm ET MRI on his back. We won't know his status for Friday's game until the results are revealed. Given Utah's place in the standings (tied for dead last in the West), we'd be a little surprised if Williams gutted it out.
