Sat Jan 31 201513:06Williams (concussion) will not play Saturday
Williams (concussion) will not play Saturday, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
He suffered the concussion and also broke his nose a week ago, but is not yet ready to return to action. However, Bonnell also reported that there is a good chance Williams will be able to return to action Monday.

Williams (concussion) is improving and has a chance to play against the Nuggets on Saturday, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Williams took a hard elbow to the face against the Knicks this past Saturday and was left with a broken nose and a concussion. The broken nose isn't blocking him from a return to the court, rather the medical staff will have to make sure he's mentally well enough to get the green light for Saturday.
Wed Jan 28 201523:33Williams' headaches have subsided
Williams' headaches have subsided, and he could begin going through the league's concussion protocol as soon as Thursday, The Charlotte Observer reports.
Williams will need to be cleared medically -- not to mention recover from a broken nose -- before he can return to the court, but it appears he is making progress. He is likely questionable at best for Charlotte's next game Saturday.

Williams suffered a concussion after taking an elbow to the face Saturday against the Knicks, the Hornets' official site reports.
Williams will have to pass the league's concussion protocol before being cleared to return. It's safe to think Williams will miss a few games, but they don't play again until Wednesday, giving him a few days to rest.

Williams took an elbow to the face Saturday and is being evaluated to determine if he suffered a concussion. He will not return to the game, the Record reports.
Williams' availability going forward will be contingent upon whether or not he suffered a concussion and will have to go through the NBA's concussion protocol. If he has suffered a concussion, Williams will likely need to miss at least a couple games.

Williams returned to the bench in Saturday's victory at New York, contributing six points (3-6 FG), five rebounds, four steals, two assists, and one block in 22 minutes.
Williams was relegated to a reserve gig due to Cody Zeller's return from a strained right shoulder, but the latter's relative ineffectiveness (two points in 17 minutes) could equate to extra run for Williams in the short term. No matter, in the seven games without Al Jefferson (groin), Williams has mustered just 7.7 points (on 43 percent shooting), 5.7 boards, 1.7 assists, 1.4 steals, and one three-pointer in 27 minutes per outing.

Williams scored 13 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt) with nine rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes during Thursday's win over the Raptors.
He rebounded nicely from an ugly game on Wednesday, but Williams' lack of consistency makes it tough to roster him in anything but deep leagues.
Mon Jan 5 201507:28Williams has great opportunity to see extra run over next month ...
Williams has a great opportunity to see extra run over the next month with Al Jefferson (groin) out, but through Williams' first three games with Jefferson out of the lineup, he's averaged just 7.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.0 three-pointer in 25 minutes per game.
Williams has never been a great per-minute producer of stats, generally making him a tough player to own in most standard leagues. He needs north of 30 minutes per game to contribute enough across the board, and even though Jefferson is going to miss significant time, it appears coach Steve Clifford is going to try and replace Jefferson's production by committee. Bismack Biyombo has received most of Jefferson's minutes so far, and Jason Maxiell has earned some rare minutes.

Williams scored eight points (3-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt) to go along with 14 rebounds, three assists and three steals in 36 minutes Monday against the Bucks.
Williams saw increased playing time Monday with Al Jefferson (groin) leaving the game early due to injury. If Jefferson were to miss any time, Williams would likely see increased playing time again. He's not going to be an elite scorer, but he could provide solid rebounding numbers while being able to knock down shots from behind the arc.

Williams (shoulder) came off the bench Wednesday to put up six points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, and one steal in 25 minutes of action.
This was the first game back for Williams after a two-game absence with a shoulder injury. However, he lost his starting job to Cody Zeller during his time away from the court and will continue to come off the bench moving forward. That being said, he played his normal compliment of minutes Wednesday, so there may ultimately not be much of a change in terms of his value, with the caveat that he continues to play around the 24.1 minutes that he's averaged this season.
Wed Dec 3 201418:08Williams (shoulder) will play Wednesday
Williams (shoulder) will play Wednesday, the Charlotte Observer's Marvin Williams reports.
This was expected after he participated in morning shootaround, but despite returning to the court, Cody Zeller will keep the starting power forward spot for now, although both players should see similar run.

Williams (shoulder) did not participate in the contact portions of Tuesday's practice but remains questionable to play Wednesday, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
While Williams remains questionable, coach Steve Clifford said he doubts the forward will be able to play Wednesday. If that's the case, Cody Zeller should be in line for another start at power forward.
Mon Dec 1 201416:13Williams (shoulder) considered questionable to return to action ...
Williams (shoulder) is considered questionable to return to action Wednesday against Chicago, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
While a report over the weekend intimated that Williams is expected to play Wednesday, this latest news implies that may not be the case. He participated in some non-contact work Monday, and his activity level during Tuesday's session may ultimately determine his status for Wednesday's game. If he sits out, expect Cody Zeller to make another start at power forward.
Fri Nov 28 201417:45Williams (shoulder) projected to return Wednesday against Bulls
Williams (shoulder) is projected to return Wednesday against the Bulls.
With this timetable for return, Williams will be missing the Hornets' next two games. Keeping that in mind, Cody Zeller is expected to take Williams' place in the starting lineup and could ultimately dethrone Williams as a starter if he performs well enough.

Williams (shoulder) has officially been ruled out for Friday's game against the Warriors, The San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Williams was in doubt for Friday's game, so this news doesn't come as much of a surprise. His next opportunity to get on the court will be against Atlanta on Saturday, with Cody Zeller likely benefiting from the extra time on the court.

Williams (shoulder) is considered doubtful for Friday's game against the Warriors, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Williams only spent 11 minutes on the court Wednesday because of a shoulder injury that also will likely hold him out of Friday's contest as well. His next opportunity to get on the hardwood will be against the Hawks on Saturday.
Wed Nov 26 201421:32Williams (shoulder) left game after just 11 minutes on Wednesday...
Williams (shoulder) left the game after just 11 minutes on Wednesday night.
He left with a left shoulder strain, and we should know more about how much time he'll miss, if any, soon enough.
Sun Nov 16 201419:27Williams scoreless with three rebounds in 15 minutes against War...
Williams went scoreless with three rebounds in 15 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.
Williams drew the start at power forward, but couldn't find much of an offensive presence in a game where the Hornets collectively only scored 87 points. He's now played 38 minutes in the previous two games, and considering he played in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday for the Hornets, he should most likely be over the knee tendinitis that has hampered his ability to play in a few matchups this season. He doesn't really offer much of one fantasy category, as he's only averaging 6.3 points and 3.5 rebounds on the season, so he'll offer minimal fantasy value moving forward.
Sat Nov 15 201421:46Williams (knee) will start Saturday night against Warriors
Williams (knee) will start Saturday night against the Warriors, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
Williams was able to play through the injury Friday, so there was little reason to think he would miss Saturday's tilt. He'll be in his usual spot in the starting lineup.
Sat Nov 15 201417:02Williams (knee) considered questionable for Saturday's game agai...
Williams (knee) is considered questionable for Saturday's game against the Warriors, Steve Martin of the Hornets' official site reports.
Despite being listed as doubtful, Williams returned for Friday's game against the Suns, recording five points and two rebounds over 23 minutes. He'll likely be able to play Saturday, as the Hornets have all of their banged-up players listed as questionable.
