Hood (heel) took part in practice Thursday but remains listed as "out" for Friday's game, Aaron Falk of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
While it's possible Hood could be reassessed prior to Friday's matchup, he appears to be on track to miss his eighth straight game. The rookie is coming off of a tough month of December in which he averaged 6.0 points on just 36.3 percent shooting.

Hood (heel) will not play Tuesday against the Warriors, Aaron Falk of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
While Hood will sit Tuesday, he was a partial participant in Monday's practice, so a return doesn't appear to be far off. In the month of December, Hood averaged 6.0 points and 1.9 rebounds while shooting 36.3 percent from the floor in 19.7 minutes.

Hood (heel) has been ruled out for next week's games and will be reevaluated prior to the Jan. 13 game against the Warriors.
An MRI revealed inflammation in Hood's left foot and he will be placed in a boot for approximately one week while participating in treatment, conditioning and restricted weight training. His fantasy stock was trending up prior to the injury after news that Alec Burks would miss the rest of the season, and if he is able to make a full recovery then he should once again be a viable option in deeper leagues in the near future. Dante Exum, Joe Ingles and Patrick Christopher (who received the start Friday) should all see an uptick in minutes while Hood is out.
Fri Jan 2 201519:11Hood (heel) ruled out for Friday's game
Hood (heel) has been ruled out for Friday's game, Jazz announcer David Locke reports.
With Alec Burks out for the season, the Jazz are growing pretty thin on the wing. Joe Ingles is one option to start in place of Hood, as it seems the Jazz prefer to bring Dante Exum off the bench. Consider Hood day-to-day.

Hood is questionable for Friday's game against the Hawks due to soreness in his left heel.
Hood has been starting in place of Alec Burks (shoulder), who was recently ruled out for the rest of the season. If Hood can't play Friday night, the Jazz could turn to Joe Ingles, Dante Exum or Patrick Christopher to join the starting lineup.

Hood started in place of Alec Burks (shoulder) Saturday, but struggled, scoring just four points (1-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), adding five rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes.
Burks' issue doesn't appear serious, so it's unlikely Hood's new role is an extended one, meaning his intrigue for fantasy owners should be negligible. He's a deep league player only.

Hood got into serious foul trouble after just eight minutes on the court during Wednesday's win over the Heat.
The Heat targeted the lackluster defense of Hood which ultimately resulted in the rookie committing five fouls in just eight minutes. Obviously this poses problems for Hood's viability to muster production if he can't manage to stay on the court. His defensive prowess is certainly lacking at his young age and it will be worth monitoring into the future to see if other teams pick up on the exploitation that the Heat unveiled.

Hood started at shooting guard in place of Alec Burks (shoulder) in Friday's game against the Magic. He scored 15 points (4-6 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT) with one rebound in 26 minutes.
Hood should see extra minutes while Burks is out and is worth a look in 12+ team leagues if you need scoring and three-pointers.

Hood will make his second-straight start in place of Alec Burks (shoulder) on Friday, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Hood has struggled with his shot during his short time in the NBA, but he'll continue to see significant time on the court while Burks is sidelined. When considering that Burks is contemplating surgery, Hood may be an interesting player to consider off the waiver wire.
Thu Dec 4 201415:42Hood started in place of injured Alec Burks (shoulder) on Wednes...
Hood started in place of the injured Alec Burks (shoulder) on Wednesday and was able to contribute 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist, and one steal against the Raptors during his 27 minutes on the court.
This was the first-career start for Hood as he'll likely get his second against the Magic on Friday with Burks already listed as out. However, he has struggled with his shot all season, shooting just 25 percent over nines games. The rookie is a lackluster option at this point in his career, even in a short-term role as a starter.
Wed Dec 3 201419:26Hood will start at shooting guard Wednesday
Hood will start at shooting guard Wednesday, Jazz announcer David Locke reports.
With Alec Burks out with a shoulder injury, Hood will get the start, but he is still unlikely to see all of Burks' minutes, as Dante Exum should also see an increased role.
Wed Dec 3 201414:03Hood will likely get start at shooting guard Wednesday
Hood will likely get the start at shooting guard Wednesday, Jazz announcer David Locke reports.
Coach Quin Snyder would not fully commit to this being the lineup move with Alec Burks set to miss two games with shoulder inflammation, but it will likely be Hood who gets the nod. Hood will have no minutes restrictions after his foot issue, but will still probably struggle to see true starter's minutes, as Dante Exum and should also see decent run in place of Burks.

Hood (foot) returned from a 10-game absence Saturday to play 14 minutes off the bench against the Clippers.
Hood is averaging 15 minutes on the court over the seven games that he's played in this season, which is right in line with the 14 minutes that he played Saturday. That being said, coach Quin Snyder will likely ease off Hood until risking further injury on the rookie's ankle is no longer an issue.
Sat Nov 29 201419:28Hood (foot) will play Saturday against Clippers
Hood (foot) will play Saturday against the Clippers, Jazz announcer David Locke reports.
Hood's health has improved rapidly of late, and he will be available to play Saturday night. It remains to be seen how minutes he will see in his first game since Nov. 5.

Hood (foot) is considered probable to play Saturday against the Clippers, Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
This news comes as a surprise, as reports out of Salt Lake City earlier in the week stated that Hood was still a few weeks away from making a return to the court. He's missed nearly a month due to plantar fasciitis but is apparently feeling better after going through Saturday morning's shootaround. If Hood does play, he'll be on a minutes restriction, so it's best to take a wait-and-see approach in terms of his fantasy value.

Hood (foot) is able to take jumpers but is still a couple weeks away from his original timetable for a return in mid-December, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Hood has been limited to just six games this season as he continues to recover from plantar fasciitis. Fellow small forward Joe Ingles has enjoyed an uptick in minutes during Hood's absence, although Hood will likely regain a significant role in Utah's rotation when he eventually restarts his rookie campaign.
Thu Nov 20 201420:33Rodney Hood: (Foot) Out 2-3 Weeks
Hood (foot) will miss at least two-to-three weeks, Deseret News reports.
Hood will be on a regimen of treatment, conditioning and restricted weight training over the time period, at the end of which he will be reevaluated. His bench minutes will continue to go elsewhere in his absence, though Gordon Hayward will continue to start at small forward for the Jazz.
Mon Nov 17 201418:16Hood (foot) ruled out for Tuesday's game against Thunder
Hood (foot) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Thunder, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.
Hood continues to battle plantar fasciitis and will miss his sixth consecutive game. The fact that he's been ruled out more than 24 hours in advance likely means he was not close to playing. His next chance to return to the court will be Friday against the Warriors.
Sat Nov 15 201416:22Hood (foot) will not play in Saturday's game against Raptors
Hood (foot) will not play in Saturday's game against the Raptors.
Hood will miss a fifth consecutive game due to plantar fasciitis, and his absence doesn't have a huge impact on the Jazz's rotation. Utah has a couple of off days coming up, with the next game not until Tuesday against the Thunder.
Fri Nov 14 201412:23Hood (foot) will not play against Knicks on Friday
Hood (foot) will not play against the Knicks on Friday, the Deseret News reports.
This will be the fourth-straight game that Hood will be sidelined for. His next opportunity to get back on the court will be Saturday against the Raptors, although the Jazz have every reason to be cautious with the rookie as to avoid long-term implications.
