Sun Oct 13 201317:50Pettis reels in lone Week 6 target
Austin Pettis caught one pass for 12 yards in Week 6 against the Texans.
It was Pettis' lone target. Brian Quick has been seeing increased snaps the past two weeks, which is eating into Pettis' playing time a bit. Pettis has four touchdowns on the season, but he's safe to leave on the waiver wire.

Fri Sep 27 201301:37Pettis leads Rams in Week 4 receiving
Austin Pettis had five catches for 59 yards in Thursday night's Week 4 loss to the 49ers.
Pettis was targeted heavily on third downs and did the majority of his damage at the end of the first half. He has limited upside at the Z receiver position in the Rams' offense and should continue to be ignored in most fantasy formats.

Sun Sep 15 201319:06Austin Pettis has big day in Week 2 loss
Austin Pettis caught eight passes for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' Week 2 loss in Atlanta.
Pettis made the most of his eight targets. He's the Rams' new Brandon Gibson, a reliable receiver with strong hands but knucklehead tendencies and pedestrian talent at Z receiver. Pettis secured his score on a flat route from three yards out on third-and-goal. He offers zero fantasy value. It will likely be his best game of the season.

Sun Sep 8 201320:41Austin Pettis catches three passes in win
Austin Pettis caught three passes for 16 yards in St. Louis' Week 1 win over the Cardinals.
Pettis drew the "start" opposite Chris Givens, but was out-targeted by both Tavon Austin and Jared Cook, and drew as many looks as RB Daryl Richardson (six). It was a quintessential Pettis performance, as the third-year pro offered nothing after the catch. He's not going to "start" much longer.

Tue Sep 3 201315:48Austin Pettis still listed as starter in STL
Austin Pettis is still listed as a starter opposite Chris Givens on the Rams' Week 1 depth chart.
Pettis' t-shirt and shorts road show lasted a little deeper into camp than usual, but there's no way he holds his starter designation. He may not even operate as one in Week 1 beyond semantics. Tavon Austin, Brian Quick and possibly even Stedman Bailey are all going to give Pettis a run for his money. Pettis has 57 catches in 26 career games.

Wed Aug 28 201311:47Austin Pettis still ahead of Quick
Austin Pettis remains ahead of Brian Quick on the depth chart.
Per beat writer Jim Thomas, Quick has a "pretty good all-around training camp and early preseason," but has tailed off lately. The Rams are going to feature Chris Givens as their No. 1 wideout, Jared Cook as their slot guy and Tavon Austin on gadget plays/screens. Pettis is unlikely to see enough targets to be on the fantasy radar despite his starter status.

Fri Jun 14 201320:47Austin Pettis shining during Rams offseason
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, WR Austin Pettis has arguably been the MVP of Rams offseason practices.
Practicing at X and slot receiver, Pettis needs the big practices with Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, and Stedman Bailey joining the pass-catching corps. "He's probably having the best camp of all the skill players," OC Brian Schottenheimer said. "He's just a tireless worker. Very competitive. ... He's having a tremendous spring." Pettis is competing with Brian Quick for a starting job.

Mon Dec 31 201200:02Pettis catches another TD in season finale
Austin Pettis caught three passes for 24 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Seahawks.
The two-yard score was Pettis' second in as many weeks. Acting as the Rams' No. 4 receiver in 2012, the second-year receiver out of Boise State caught 30 passes for 261 yards and four touchdowns. Pettis is merely a slot receiver and doesn't offer a whole lot of YAC ability, but he has a strong pair of hands that Sam Bradford trusts in the red zone. If Danny Amendola leaves as an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, Pettis seems the most likely in-house replacement in the slot. He doesn't play as big as his 6-foot-3, 207-pound frame would suggest. The Rams would be in a great deal of trouble if Pettis was playing a heavy dose of snaps, too.

Sun Dec 23 201217:25Austin Pettis catches five-yard score in win
Austin Pettis' lone catch went for a five-yard touchdown in St. Louis' Week 16 win over the Bucs.
Pettis drew just one target as Sam Bradford attempted only 27 passes in a snoozer of an afternoon for the Rams offense. The score was his third of the season, but first since Week 10. Pettis won't enter 2013 as more than a back-up slot receiver.

Sun Dec 16 201217:30Austin Pettis catches five passes in loss
Austin Pettis caught five passes for 55 yards in St. Louis' Week 15 loss to the Vikings.
The five-catch effort was Pettis' second straight, while the yards were a season high. Pettis is slowly becoming a bigger part of the Rams offense, but he won't be an intriguing late-round flier in fantasy drafts next summer.

Sun Dec 9 201217:15Austin Pettis catches five passes in win
Austin Pettis caught five passes for 33 yards in St. Louis' Week 14 win over the Bills.
Pettis didn't make an impact before the Rams' final drive, but made the biggest play of the game with St. Louis attempting to rally from a 12-7 deficit. With the Rams facing a 4th-and-1 from the Bills' 37-yard line with 1:53 remaining, Pettis came back on a ball that Sam Bradford threw behind him, making a circus catch to extend the game. The fact that Pettis' 33 yards were his second most of the season, however, tells you all you need to know about his fantasy value.

Sun Nov 25 201220:55Austin Pettis held without a catch in win
Austin Pettis was held without a catch in St. Louis' Week 12 win over the Cardinals.
Pettis was open for a touchdown in the second quarter, but Sam Bradford was late on the throw, tossing an interception to Patrick Peterson. Pettis' role has grown in recent weeks, but he's still at just 132 yards on the year.

Fri Nov 16 201216:35Austin Pettis questionable for Week 11
Rams WR Austin Pettis (toe) returned to Friday's practice on a limited basis and is listed as questionable for Week 11.
Pettis has a touchdown in two of St. Louis' past three games, but he's not on the fantasy radar regardless of his Week 11 activity or lack thereof. His playing time is going to take a big hit with Danny Amendola back healthy.

Thu Nov 15 201218:50Rams WR Pettis misses Thursday's practice
Rams WR Austin Pettis (toe) was downgraded to a missed practice on Thursday.
Pettis was limited Wednesday. His status for Week 11 is up in the air. With Danny Amendola back in the lineup, Pettis' snaps were due to decrease regardless. He's unworthy of a roster spot outside of deep Dynasty leagues.

Sun Nov 11 201221:16Austin Pettis has mixed day in tie
Austin Pettis caught three passes for 15 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' Week 10 tie with the 49ers.
Pettis' two-yard score put the Rams ahead 24-21 with 1:09 remaining in regulation. However, his "biggest" play of the day came in overtime, where he committed a devastating procedure penalty that cost the Rams a 79-yard completion. Pettis is closer to the unemployment line than fantasy relevance.

Sun Oct 21 201217:08Austin Pettis has 2/17/1 day vs. Packers
Austin Pettis caught two passes for 17 yards and a touchdown in St. Louis' Week 7 loss to the Packers.
Pettis' touchdown was a meaningless three-yard score with 0:15 remaining in St. Louis' 30-20 loss. He drew just three targets. Pettis "started" in the absence of Danny Amendola in Week 6, but has now hauled in only three passes for 28 yards since Amendola went down. Pettis isn't a worthwhile flier in deeper leagues.

Sun Oct 14 201217:06Austin Pettis held to one catch in loss
Austin Pettis started in Danny Amendola's Week 6 absence, but caught only one pass for 11 yards against the Dolphins.
Pettis "started," but it was rookie Chris Givens who saw the biggest increase in snaps. Pettis was targeted only three times. Pettis flopped in the slot last season, and there's no reason to believe he'l become a viable PPR-league option while Amendola is on the shelf.

Sun Oct 14 201211:59Austin Pettis listed as starter for Week 6
Austin Pettis is starting opposite Brandon Gibson in place of Danny Amendola (collarbone) in Week 6.
It's an indication Pettis will get the first shot at taking Amendola's all-important place in the slot, though the Rams are likely to go with a rotation. Veteran Steve Smith and rookies Chris Givens and Brian Quick are also candidates for increased snaps. Givens is already carving out a role as a field-stretching deep threat, but Quick has yet to make an impact. Amendola's injury is a golden opportunity for the Rams to jumpstart the No. 33 pick's development.
