Sun Jun 16 201316:21Brian Quick ends Rams OTAs as No. 4 receiver
Second-year WR Brian Quick ended OTAs as the Rams' No. 4 receiver, behind Tavon Austin, Chris Givens, and Austin Pettis.
Pettis spent the spring as the starting X receiver. Givens is the Z, and Austin will start in the slot. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch insists Quick's offseason was not necessarily a disappointment, "it's just that Pettis has been that impressive." Assured OC Brian Schottenheimer, "(Quick's) doing a lot better. He's stepped up this year. He's just much more comfortable." Quick is competing directly with Pettis, who is an underwhelming possession receiver despite his big spring. The battle at X receiver will rage on into August.

Sat Jun 8 201316:00Brian Quick 'putting on show' at Rams OTAs
According to Tony Softli of 101 ESPN St. Louis, Brian Quick has been "putting on a show" at OTAs.
In Friday's session alone, Quick caught "17 to 18 passes all over the field." Softli mentioned that the second-year receiver was reeling in passes in the "red zone, middle of the field, on crossing routes, and deep down outside." Quick recently admitted that he struggled with the playbook as a rookie. That, coupled with the immense jump from Appalachian State to the NFL, contributed to his minuscule 2012 stat line. We have Quick as our No. 56 receiver at the moment, but he has a boat load of upside in what should be a high-octane St. Louis attack.

Sun May 26 201323:01Brian Quick struggled with Rams playbook
Rams second-year WR Brian Quick admits he struggled with understanding St. Louis' playbook as a rookie.
"This offense is a lot more complicated than anything I've run before," he said. "... By the second half of last season, though, I felt a lot more comfortable and now, going into the second year, I really feel like I'm ready to show people what I can do." Coach Jeff Fisher anticipates Quick playing a "much bigger role" in the 2013 offense. Last year's No. 33 overall pick is a breakout candidate.

Tue Apr 30 201310:16Brian Quick penciled in as starter
The Post-Dispatch projects Brian Quick and Chris Givens as the Rams' starting outside receivers.
Tavon Austin is locked into the slot and Jared Cook will be moved all over the formation as a "move" tight end. Austin Pettis, Stedman Bailey and Lance Kendricks will be talented reserves. "We're going to lobby with the league to see if we can play with more than one ball," coach Jeff Fisher said. Although Quick is likely to start, his Dynasty arrow is pointing down. The Rams acquired some serious pass-catching talent this offseason.

Fri Mar 22 201315:16Brian Quick to have expanded role in 2013
Coach Jeff Fisher reiterated that Brian Quick will be counted on for a much bigger role in his second season.
The Rams may draft a movable-chess-piece like Tavon Austin in April, but they're counting on Quick to start on the outside. "We've always said players make their biggest improvement from year one to year two," Fisher said. "Brian's second year in the system, we expect him to (develop). The guy's gonna make a lot of plays for us." The Rams are publicly comparing Quick to Vincent Jackson.

Fri Feb 22 201313:14Rams GM likens WR Quick to Vincent Jackson
Rams GM Les Snead stated at the Combine that the team expects "more" from 2012 second-round pick Brian Quick in year two.
Quick's production underwhelmed as a rookie, but Snead says he "knew" the transition from D-IAA Appalachian State "would be an issue," and noted that Quick flashed big-play ability. Snead compared Quick to Vincent Jackson, who caught only three passes during his rookie year coming out of small-school Northern Colorado. Quick is a player to monitor closely entering 2013 fantasy season.

Mon Dec 31 201200:14Quick sees one target in season wrap-up
Brian Quick was held without a catch in Week 17 against the Seahawks.
Quick was targeted once on a deep ball down the left sideline but that was it for the second-round rookie out of Appalachian State. The No. 33 overall pick appeared in 15 games for the Rams but caught just 11 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Coming into the league, everyone knew Quick was very raw, so we'll look for him to take that next step in 2013. Outside receiver Brandon Gibson is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, and Quick should have his sights set on taking that job in the offseason. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, he showed the ability to win a couple of jump balls over the course of the season, but his route-running is a major area that needs improvement.

Sun Dec 16 201217:08Brian Quick has 2/12/1 afternoon
Brian Quick caught two passes for 12 yards and a touchdown in St. Louis' Week 15 loss to the Vikings.
The Rams finally decided to take advantage of their rookie wideout's 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame in the second quarter, lofting him a jump ball in the end zone. Going up against 5-10 CB Josh Robinson, Quick easily pulled it down for his second score of the year. However, his snaps remained extremely limited while the two-catch effort was only his second of 2012. The No. 33 pick is an interesting Dynasty-league case heading into the offseason. He's done just enough to remain a "hold."

Sun Dec 9 201217:29Brian Quick held to one catch in Week 14 win
Brian Quick caught one pass for six yards in St. Louis' Week 14 win over the Bills.
Quick was on the field for only a handful of plays. His catch came on St. Louis' opening possession of the second half. With 13 games in the books, the first pick of the second round of April's draft has just nine catches for 144 yards.

Sun Dec 2 201217:49Brian Quick held to one catch in Week 13 win
Brian Quick caught one pass for three yards in St. Louis' Week 13 win over the 49ers.
Quick appeared to be playing more snaps at the expense of Brandon Gibson, but still drew only two targets. Quick has breached the two-catch barrier just once in 11 games, and won't be a fantasy factor down the stretch.

Sun Nov 18 201217:35Brian Quick has another one-catch day
Brian Quick caught one pass for nine yards in St. Louis' Week 11 loss to the Jets.
Quick was spotted before garbage time for the second consecutive week, but still drew only two targets. Don't believe the Rams' pledges to get him more involved until you see it.

Fri Nov 16 201213:58Fisher: Rookie WR Quick is 'coming on'
Coach Jeff Fisher plans to increase WR Brian Quick's opportunities moving forward.
"He's coming on," Fisher said. "He shows he can make plays ... And we'll look to find more ways to get him involved." After playing less than 10 percent of the snaps last week, Quick remains well off the radar in redraft leagues.

Wed Nov 14 201211:01Brian Quick played seven snaps last week
Even with Chris Givens inactive, rookie Brian Quick played on just 7-of-83 offensive snaps in Week 10.
Quick looked strong on a 36-yard touchdown catch, but the No. 33 overall pick continues to be buried on the depth chart. Brandon Gibson played 71 plays, Danny Amendola played on 70 and Austin Pettis saw 45. Even Steve Smith (14 snaps) was on the field more than Quick. The Post-Dispatch suggests that Quick's digestion of the playbook remains an issue.

Sun Nov 11 201221:02Brian Quick catches 36-yard touchdown
Brian Quick caught a 36-yard touchdown in St. Louis' Week 10 tie with the 49ers.
Seeing some rare first-half snaps in the absence of Chris Givens, Quick took advantage of a busted coverage to score his first-career touchdown. It ended up being his only target of the afternoon, however. With Givens likely to return in Week 11 and the coaching staff's trust in the No. 33 pick still obviously low, there's no guarantee Quick will see the field before garbage time next weekend.

Tue Oct 30 201217:52Rookie WR Quick hasn't looked ready to play
Beat writer Jim Thomas notes second-round WR Brian Quick hasn't looked "very ready to play."
Quick dropped a pass, had to be told where to line up and seemed to lose a ball in flight in limited action versus the Patriots in Week 8. With Danny Amendola (clavicle) returning, Chris Givens emerging as a big-play weapon, and Austin Pettis' snaps on the rise, Quick is a poor bet for a major role going forward.

Sun Oct 28 201217:27Brian Quick has day to forget
Playing in garbage time of St. Louis' 45-7 Week 8 loss to the Patriots, Brian Quick caught one pass for 39 yards.
With backup Kellen Clemens in the game, Quick won a jump-ball in tight one-on-one coverage. Things went poorly before that, however, as Quick muffed an easy catch before appearing to run the wrong route on Sam Bradford's lone interception of the day. Never on the field before things get out of hand, Quick is miles from redraft relevance.

Sun Oct 21 201217:28Brian Quick held to two catches in loss
Brian Quick caught two passes for 31 yards in St. Louis' Week 7 loss to the Packers.
Quick wasn't spotted before garbage time, where he made both of his catches. Still unable to crack the Rams' receiver rotation despite the absence of Danny Amendola, Quick is miles from fantasy relevance.

Fri Oct 5 201200:54Quick used sparingly in win over Cardinals
Brian Quick was held off the stat sheet in Week 5 against the Cardinals.
Quick saw just one target, which was an aimlessly thrown Sam Bradford pass in the end zone that was easily picked off by Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson. The second-round rookie receiver was seldom used on Thursday night. Quick could see a snap increase in Week 6 after Danny Amendola broke his collarbone against the Cardinals, but we're not banking on it.

Sun Sep 30 201211:51Brian Quick active against Seattle
Rams WR Brian Quick is active for Week 4 against the Seahawks.
Quick is active in place of veteran Steve Smith, who has managed just five catches in three games. The No. 33 pick, Quick was a healthy scratch for last week's loss, but could be a part of today's game-plan after not seeing so much as a single target in St. Louis' first two games. He remains someone to monitor in 14-16 team leagues, but still isn't a redraft league consideration.

Mon Sep 24 201211:25Fisher comments on Quick's deactivation
Rams coach Jeff Fisher says No. 33 pick WR Brian Quick was a healthy scratch for Sunday's loss because the "other guys are still ahead of him."
"We've got (Chris) Givens handling some of the returns and it's just one of those things," Fisher said. "(Quick)'s going to be a good player." The Rams publicly gushed after snagging Quick in the second round of April's draft, but he drew only one target through his first two games before being scratched Sunday. Considering the lack of talent in St. Louis' receiver corps, it doesn't speak well of Quick's development. He's appearing extremely unlikely to make a 2012 impact in fantasy leagues.
