Per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Bernie Miklasz, Quick has had trouble learning the offense. With Austin Pettis off suspension, it could be a while before Quick sees the field. He's entirely off the redraft radar.

The Rams said he was fine after the game. Seeing some first-team snaps but playing mostly with the Kellen Clemens group, Quick hauled in three receptions for 20 yards against the Chiefs Saturday night, and also had a 10-yard touchdown catch nullified by penalty. Quick may not open the season as a starter, but he figures to develop into one sooner rather than later.

After struggling in Sunday's practice, Quick bounced back Monday with his best showing since rookie camp opened last week. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch notes that Quick "looks like he's determined to get himself ready to play and contribute as soon as possible."

Steven Jackson is publicly challenging rookie WR Brian Quick because the Rams plan to "lean heavily" on the second-rounder this season.

"We're going to need someone on the outside to make plays," said Jackson. "And I'm challenging him right now because we're going to need him to prepare himself over the next six weeks to be a standout on this team." Quick has impressed with his physical gifts during OTAs, but S-Jax noted that he's still swimming in the playbook after coming from mid-major Appalachian State's spread offense. The Rams are "in love" with Quick to the extent that their personnel staff believe he's on par with Justin Blackmon.
