Thu Nov 21 201300:01Spencer Hawes back on track with huge night
Spencer Hawes bounced back from a mini slump and hit 10-of-13 shots and three 3-pointers on his way to a season-high 28 points to go along with 10 rebounds, three assists and a block in Wednesday's loss.
That's more like it. He banged his knee in tonight's game and played through it, so it looks like he's fine, while this was his first 20-point game since Nov. 6.

Wed Nov 20 201319:58Spencer Hawes (knee) goes to locker room
Spencer Hawes banged knees in the second quarter of Wednesday's game against the Raptors.
He was getting attention from the medical staff on the bench and went back to the locker room under his own power. The Sixers really need Hawes back with Thaddeus Young out tonight. Hopefully he comes back after halftime.

Sun Nov 17 201300:03Spencer Hawes cools off in blowout loss
Spencer Hawes cooled off on Saturday with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and a 3-pointers on 4-of-11 shooting in a very ugly loss to the Hornets.
With some trade rumors surrounding him and the fact that he is Spencer Hawes, owners may be panicking after tonight's performance, and looking to sell high before the bottom falls out. However, as long as he's healthy and with the Sixers, he's going to see most of the minutes at center and can produce in every single category. If you need a center, now might be your chance to try to buy low on Hawes.

Wed Nov 13 201323:11Spencer Hawes stays hot vs. Dwight Howard
Spencer Hawes had 18 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three steals, three blocks and three more 3-pointers on 7-of-16 shooting in Wednesday's big overtime win over the Rockets.
Hawes is having a remarkable season and while the temptation is there to sell high, there is no one else to play center in Philly, meaning he should keep rolling as long as he can stay healthy.

Fri Nov 8 201310:17Spencer Hawes doing it all for Sixers
Spencer Hawes is off to an amazing start this season and he's proven to be the most versatile center in fantasy hoops thus far.
Hawes leads all centers with 17 assists and 3-pointers (9-of-18), is fourth in rebounding with 55 of them, and is third in scoring, just one point shy of Dwight Howard for second place. Yes, now is a good time to think about selling high, but the fact remains that Hawes is the only healthy center the Sixers have. The numbers will come down at some point, but he should still be in line for the best season of his career. Trade him at your own risk, and get plenty in return if you decide to move him.

Wed Nov 6 201323:51Spencer Hawes posts another big line in loss
Spencer Hawes had 23 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, a steal, two blocks and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss.
We hyped him pretty hard coming into the season, as he's the only center the Sixers really have available to them right now. He had six TOs tonight, but did enough to quickly make you forget about them. It's not easy to find a big man who can block shots, hit threes, board and score, but Hawes is that guy.

Sat Nov 2 201323:12Spencer Hawes hits huge shot late, scores 18
Spencer Hawes hit a jumper at the top of the key with five seconds left to help the Sixers beat the Bulls on Saturday, finishing with 18 points, 11 boards, two assists, one steal, three blocks and two 3-pointers on 8-of-11 shooting.
He did all of this in just 30 minutes and his per-minute production is among the best in the league. Hawes was already coming in with averages of 20.0 points, 11.5 boards, 3.5 assists and 2.0 triples, so he's off to a fantastic start to his season. Not that he needed a strong start with how he has no competition, but he's locked in as a must-start center in all leagues.

Fri Nov 1 201323:29Spencer Hawes fills the stat sheet in win
Spencer Hawes filled the stat sheet in Friday's victory over the Wizards with 16 points, 14 boards, five assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers on 6-of-12 from the field in 33 minutes.
Coach Brett Brown should get a lot of credit for getting Hawes into some open space. He had open shots on the perimeter to go with some easy bunnies all night long. Hawes dropped 24 points in the opener and is feeling like a lock for production as long as he's able to stay healthy.

Wed Oct 30 201321:45Spencer Hawes drop 24 points on Heat
Spencer Hawes hit 10-of-14 shots and a 3-pointer for 24 points, nine rebounds and two steals in Wednesday's tough win over the Heat.
Hawes is going to see a ton of minutes at center for as long as he's healthy and while he won't do this every night, this line is certainly not all that surprising. Play him with confidence as long as he's not on the injury report.

Fri Oct 11 201322:33Hawes scores 17 points with seven rebounds
Spencer Hawes scored 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including three treys) with seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks in Friday's preseason win over the Celtics.
Hawes is going to get all he can eat for the Sixers this season, with the operative question being whether or not he can stay healthy. Give him a look in the middle rounds. Evan Turner scored 12 points with nine rebounds and three assists, and Thad Young scored 20 points with six boards and three steals as the Sixers' one-two punch both turned the ball over five times in the win.

Tue Oct 8 201309:5976ers starters to log heavy preseason minutes
76ers coach Brett Brown said that his starters will play "big minutes" during the preseason.
Brown admitted after Sunday's game that "even [the Sixers'] big guys are not physical," and he said that team rebounding will be crucial for Philly to get into the win column. He wants his key players in "ready-to-go fitness shape" for the season opener, which means we'll see plenty of Michael Carter-Williams, James Anderson, Evan Turner, Thaddeus Young, Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen in the coming weeks.

Thu Oct 3 201312:59Spencer Hawes expects to play this weekend
Spencer Hawes (knee) said that he expects to play in the team's upcoming preseason games in Europe.
The team will make its preseason debut on Sunday against Bilbao Basket. Hawes has been resting his knee for two straight practices and looks to be back on the court in the coming days. He'll be a major piece for a Sixers team that is going to have its struggles, which makes him a possible steal in the second half of fantasy drafts.

Tue Oct 1 201313:01Spencer Hawes (knee) out again on Tuesday
Spencer Hawes (knee) sat out Tuesday's practice.
The injury is minor and the Sixers are merely playing it safe with their oft-injured starting center. Lavoy Allen has been filling in at center with the first unit, joining Thaddeus Young, Evan Turner, James Anderson and Michael Carter-Williams.

Mon Sep 30 201317:06Spencer Hawes sits out w/ ice bag on knee
Spencer Hawes watched the Sixers' scrimmage on Monday with an ice bag on his left knee.
There's no use reading into precautionary rest during training camp. If Hawes' knee is anything to worry about, we'll let you know. Lavoy Allen took his place with the Sixers' first team during the scrimmage.

Mon Aug 12 201317:32Spencer Hawes scores 58 points in Pro-Am game
Spencer Hawes scored 58 points and grabbed 17 rebounds last night at Jamal Crawford's Summer Pro-Am.
The 7-footer went 19-for-30 from the field, and 18-for-22 from the free throw line to set the 2013 summer record for most points scored. While it's highly unlikely Hawes will ever do this in an NBA game, the 25-year-old shot well last year, connecting on 35.6 percent of his 3-pointers, and could put up decent numbers while seeing time as a starter while Nerlens Noel heals.

Tue Jul 30 201309:2576ers GM expects to attract trade offers
The 76ers will be "an attractive trading partner for teams around the league all year," according to GM Sam Hinkie.
The Sixers have some nice trade bait, including Spencer Hawes and his expiring $6.6 million contract. More importantly, they can facilitate a wide array of trades thanks to $16.6 million in cap space, which could balloon to $36 million next summer. Hinkie and the 76ers aren't even paying lip service to being competitive this season.

Wed Jul 3 201303:00Spencer Hawes, others fined for alumni game
Spencer Hawes, Isaiah Thomas, Tony Wroten and Quincy Pondexter were all fined $15,000 a piece by the NBA for participating in a University of Washington alumni game organized by UW coach and former NBA player Lorenzo Romar that was played on June 23.
It's unclear if free agents Nate Robinson and Terrence Ross were also fined, but the NBA doesn't allow players to compete in public offseason games prior to July 1 or after September 15 without league approval. The fines seem a bit silly given the serious situations the NFL (Aaron Hernandez) and MLB (PEDs) are dealing with these days, but rules are rules, we guess. Although tampering rules seem to be universally ignored once the season is over.

Wed Apr 17 201323:55Spencer Hawes plays just four minutes in win
Spencer Hawes played just four minutes and scored three points in Wednesday's final win.
He had a nice season filling in for Andrew Bynum, but was pretty inconsistent in the process. When he was on he could carry fantasy teams, but his disappearing acts weren't fun when they came out of nowhere at times. We'll have to see what moves the Sixers make, but there's a decent chance Hawes could find himself starting for them again next season. Lavoy Allen double-doubled with 11 points and 11 rebounds in his extra minutes for the benched Hawes.

Wed Apr 10 201322:30Spencer Hawes quiet in loss to Hawks
Spencer Hawes had just five points, six rebounds and zero blocks on 2-of-6 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Hawks.
Big men generally go off against the Hawks, but that wasn't the case tonight for Hawes. He's now played 25 or fewer minutes in two straight and has scored in single digits in both of them after a run of 12 straight double-figure scoring performances. He appears to be cooling down for the Sixers, but it's important to keep in mind the Hawks went small tonight.

Sat Mar 30 201300:37Spencer Hawes scores 16 and keeps rolling
Spencer Hawes continued his stat-stuffing ways on Friday with 16 points, 11 boards, five assists, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes against the Cavs.
Believe it or not, Hawes is flirting with first-round value over the past month in eight-category leagues and he just keeps putting up big lines night after night. He should be locked and loaded in all lineups.
