Fri Mar 29 201308:30Spencer Hawes credits Collins for improvement
Spencer Hawes credited coach Doug Collins for his improvement this season.
Collins called out Hawes after a February 26 loss to the Magic, and Hawes has responded in March with averages of 13.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 blocks on 50.9 percent shooting which is easily his best month of the season. Hawes will be given all of the run he can handle with no real threat to his playing time and is likely carrying fantasy teams right now.

Wed Mar 27 201321:40Spencer Hawes with career-high 17 rebounds
Spencer Hawes stayed hot on Wednesday with 15 points, a career-high 17 rebounds and a 3-pointer.
Sure, he didn't block a shot, but he's playing well enough to possibly win his owners a championship. He came into this one averaging 13.6 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in March, making him a must-own, must-start center.

Mon Mar 25 201323:46Spencer Hawes continues his surge on Monday
Spencer Hawes shot 4-of-7 from the field for 14 points with eight boards and three blocks in 29 minutes against the Jazz.
He's really turned it on and in his previous 10 games, Hawes averaged 14.9 points, 10.1 boards, 4.4 assists and 2.2 blocks in 31.5 minutes. He's one of the hottest properties in fantasy hoops and he should be owned in all leagues.

Spencer Hawes filled the stat sheet against the Nuggets on Thursday with 17 points, 12 boards, five assists, four boards and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes.
He's on fire and in his previous five games, Hawes averaged 16.4 points, 10.2 boards, 5.6 assists, 3.0 blocks, 0.4 steals and 0.4 triples on 54.1 percent shooting. He should be owned and started in all leagues while he's hot.

Spencer Hawes stayed hot on Wednesday with 16 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and four blocks on 5-of-13 shooting as the Clippers trounced the visiting Sixers.
Hawes even hit a 3-pointer for good measure and is absolutely killing it right now. Regardless of whether or not he can keep it going, he should be picked up in all leagues until we see how this story ends.

Mon Mar 18 201322:14Hawes posts 16 & 13; Jrue Holiday scores 27
Spencer Hawes kept surging in the Sixers' 101-100 win against the Blazers on Monday, scoring 16 points on 9-of-14 shooting with 13 rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
Hawes has been very inconsistent this season but he's on one right now, so make sure he isn't floating around on your wire. Jrue Holiday added 27 points and a full stat line in the win.

Sat Mar 16 201322:27Spencer Hawes w/ career game in win vs. Indy
Spencer Hawes briefly flirted with a quadruple-double vs. the Pacers on Saturday, finishing with 18 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists and seven blocks.
It's been a bumpy ride for Hawes all season, but tonight he played with phenomenal energy, and the rebounds and blocks were both career-highs. Even dismissing this game as a fluke, his averages in March are strong enough to keep him active -- 11.8 points on 47 percent FGs and 84 percent FTs, with 8.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 blocks. For those still wondering, Andrew Bynum is contemplating another knee surgery and he appears less threatening to Hawes every day.

Mon Mar 11 201321:52Spencer Hawes erupts for 24 points vs. BK
Spencer Hawes had a season-high 24 points to go with 10 boards, seven assists and two blocks in 34 minutes against the Nets on Monday.
He shot 10-of-15 from the field and the Nets had no answer for him. Hawes has picked up his game lately and he's scored at least 13 points in five of his last six games. He's worth owning in all standard leagues despite not capitalizing while Thaddeus Young was out last month.

Sat Mar 9 201300:57Spencer Hawes double-doubles Friday
Spencer Hawes double-doubled in Friday's loss to the Heat with 13 point and 10 boards in 30 minutes.
He's played a heck of a lot better since Thaddeus Young returned and it's become abundantly clear that he's a better secondary option up front for Philly. Hawes is worth a look in standard leagues, especially with Andrew Bynum probably not playing this year.

Tue Mar 5 201322:36Spencer Hawes plays well in loss to Celtics
Spencer Hawes hit 7-of-12 shots for 14 points, six rebounds and two blocks in 28 minutes on Tuesday.
Kwame Brown was a DNP-CD, Andrew Bynum is showing no signs of life and Lavoy Allen played just three useless minutes tonight. In other words, the center position, as long as the Sixers use one, belongs to Hawes until further notice.

Sun Mar 3 201320:57Hawes double-doubles w/ 14 pts, 11 rebounds
Spencer Hawes finished Sunday's game with 14 points, one 3-pointer, 11 rebounds, three assists and one block in 39 minutes, a far cry from Saturday's scoreless dud.
Hawes' yo-yo act is the envy of grade-schoolers everywhere, but it's wearing thin for fantasy owners. It's been over a month since he's scored double-digit points in consecutive games, but with Andrew Bynum's return as far away as ever there's enough upside to hold Hawes in average leagues.

Sat Mar 2 201322:20Spencer Hawes scoreless in dud vs. Warriors
Spencer Hawes went scoreless on 0-of-9 shooting vs. the Warriors, adding four rebounds, one block and three turnovers in under 20 minutes of action.
This stings even more since Hawes was coming off a feel-good game with 20 points, 15 boards and two blocks. Despite averaging nearly 32 minutes over the past month, he hasn't had any double-doubles or patched together consecutive games with 10+ points. As a result he isn't even a top-200 player in the past month. Deploy him at your own risk.

Thu Feb 28 201322:58Spencer Hawes scores 20 points vs. Chicago
Spencer Hawes grabbed a season-high 15 boards to go with 22 points, one assist and two blocks in 37 minutes against the Bulls on Thursday.
He had a golden opportunity with Thaddeus Young from February 5 to 24, but Hawes squandered it with averages of 10.5 points, 7.3 boards and 0.9 blocks on 38.2 percent shooting in his previous 10 games. He'll have a nice outing here and there, but his inconsistency isn't something that owners in standard leagues should have to deal with.

Sat Feb 23 201323:57Spencer Hawes quiet vs. Chris Bosh and Heat
Spencer Hawes struggled in 25 minutes vs. the heat, scoring two points with two rebounds, three assists and one block.
Hawes hit 1-of-5 FGs and he simply doesn't match up well with the Heat, who use Chris Bosh at C and have maintained a fluid small-ball style. Andrew Bynum (knee) still has no timetable for a return and Hawes belongs on all fantasy rosters.

Wed Feb 20 201323:44Spencer Hawes goes for 9 & 8 in loss
Spencer Hawes had nine points, eight rebounds and a block on 3-of-9 shooting in 32 minutes on Wednesday.
He was actually benched for Kwame Brown to start the second half after being abused by Nikola Pekovic, but we're not concerned. He still got his normal minutes and Brown didn't score and had just three rebounds in six minutes. If Andrew Bynum ever gets healthy enough to play, Hawes will take a serious hit. But until it happens, keep running him out there.

Thu Feb 14 201300:31Spencer Hawes finally puts a nice line
Spencer Hawes played 41 minutes against the Bucks on Wednesday and had 19 points, nine boards, two assists and one block.
The minutes have been there for Hawes since Thaddeus Young went down and he averaged 33.2 per game in that span, but only had 11.8 points, 8.8 boards and 0.8 blocks on 40 percent shooting. Hawes should be able to hold some nice value for the next couple weeks at the very least.

Mon Feb 4 201321:26Spencer Hawes posts 21 & 14 vs. Magic
Playing 37 minutes in another start at center, Spencer Hawes scored 21 points with 14 rebounds, three assists and one block in a rout vs. the Magic.
He had one board in 26 minutes on Friday and hasn't been the most reliable option, but he's getting steady minutes as a starter and could play an even bigger role if Thaddeus Young (hamstring) misses any games. Just keep in mind that Andrew Bynum is targeting a February debut.

Fri Feb 1 201322:54Hawes quiet against former team
Spencer Hawes scored 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting with one rebound and one assist over 26 minutes in the Sixers' 89-80 win over the Kings on Friday.
Hawes saw teammate Thad Young score 23 points with 15 rebounds and became a bystander in a lightly contested game against his former team. We're not reading too much into tonight's numbers for any of the Sixers, as most opponents won't mail it in quite like the Kings do.

Wed Jan 30 201323:20Spencer Hawes comes to life in win
Spencer Hawes finally got hot as the starting center for the Sixers on Wednesday, finishing with 12 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
He was fairly quiet in his previous two games, but is worth owning now that he's starting. He's averaging 12.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks over his last five games, so give him a close look.

Mon Jan 28 201322:33Spencer Hawes is quiet in 36 minutes
Spencer Hawes played 36 minutes in Monday's 103-100 loss to the Grizzlies and had eight points, four boards and one block.
It was his second consecutive game in single-digit points and less that six rebounds. On the bright side, the 36 minutes are encouraging even though he was beaten by Marc Gasol numerous times all night. Hawes is worth owning in all standard leagues.
