For those still wondering, Andrew Bynum is contemplating another knee surgery and he appears less threatening to Hawes every day.

He had a golden opportunity with Thaddeus Young from February 5 to 24, but Hawes squandered it with averages of 10.5 points, 7.3 boards and 0.9 blocks on 38.2 percent shooting in his previous 10 games. He'll have a nice outing here and there, but his inconsistency isn't something that owners in standard leagues should have to deal with.

Spencer Hawes struggled in 25 minutes vs. the heat, scoring two points with two rebounds, three assists and one block.

Hawes hit 1-of-5 FGs and he simply doesn't match up well with the Heat, who use Chris Bosh at C and have maintained a fluid small-ball style. Andrew Bynum (knee) still has no timetable for a return and Hawes belongs on all fantasy rosters.

He still got his normal minutes and Brown didn't score and had just three rebounds in six minutes. If Andrew Bynum ever gets healthy enough to play, Hawes will take a serious hit. But until it happens, keep running him out there.

The minutes have been there for Hawes since Thaddeus Young went down and he averaged 33.2 per game in that span, but only had 11.8 points, 8.8 boards and 0.8 blocks on 40 percent shooting. Hawes should be able to hold some nice value for the next couple weeks at the very least.

Playing 37 minutes in another start at center, Spencer Hawes scored 21 points with 14 rebounds, three assists and one block in a rout vs. the Magic.

He had one board in 26 minutes on Friday and hasn't been the most reliable option, but he's getting steady minutes as a starter and could play an even bigger role if Thaddeus Young (hamstring) misses any games. Just keep in mind that Andrew Bynum is targeting a February debut.

It was his second consecutive game in single-digit points and less that six rebounds. On the bright side, the 36 minutes are encouraging even though he was beaten by Marc Gasol numerous times all night. Hawes is worth owning in all standard leagues.
