Wed Feb 2 201101:34Greene scores 15 points off the bench
Donte Greene scored 15 points off the bench on Tuesday, hitting 6-of-11 shots from the field (including a three) with two rebounds, one assist, and one block in 21 minutes.
He got extremely hot during the first half, but did nothing in the second half, and owners know better than to get excited over this. We've been down that road before, and Francisco Garcia (calf) will return and complicate his value even more.
Mon Jan 17 201119:09Greene grabs 11 boards in start for Cisco
Donte Greene started for injured Francisco Garcia (calf) on Monday, and scored seven points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with 11 rebounds, two assists, and no steals or blocks in 35 minutes.
Owners have been down this road enough times to know not to take the bait just yet. Aside from the likely chance that Garcia returns to his starting job, the small forward position in Sacto has been a mess all season long.
Mon Jan 17 201116:10Donte Greene starts for Fran Garcia
Donte Greene started in place of Francisco Garcia on Monday.
Garcia was a late scratch with a calf injury, but we're not expecting any miracles from Greene.

Tue Dec 7 201002:27Greene held to two points in 14 minutes
Donte Greene lost nearly all of his fantasy value on Monday, playing just 14 minutes without scoring on 0-for-4 shooting with two rebounds, one assist, and a steal.
With the SF position in Sacto being a revolving door, it should take just one of these for owners to start looking at hot free agents. Greene could bounce back in the next game, but it's not really worth it to find out, especially when Omri Casspi scored 21 points off the bench.
Sun Dec 5 201002:04Greene scores 19 points in start vs. Mavs
Donte Greene got another start in the Kings' 105-103 loss to the Mavs on Saturday, scoring all 19 of his points in the first half on his way to 8-of-15 shooting (3-of-6 from downtown) with one rebound, one assist, and one steal in 26 minutes.
Francisco Garcia (3-of-5 FG, 2-of-2 3PT) and Omri Casspi (2-of-2 FG, 1-of-1 3PT) were on the floor during crunch time, but this had less to do with Greene and more to do with their solid play. Paul Westphal went with the hot hand, highlighting the tenuous grasp Greene has on the job.
Sat Dec 4 201004:29Donte Greene's starting job in jeopardy
Donte Greene started again for the Kings, but had just five points on 2-of-7 shooting on Friday.
Paul Westphal is hinting at starting lineup changes and our guess is that Greene is heading back to the bench. Who starts in his place is anyone's guess, but Francisco Garcia or Carl Landry are good bets.
Wed Dec 1 201002:53Greene scores six points on Tuesday
Donte Greene scored six points on 3-of-6 shooting with no rebounds, no assists, and no steals or blocks in just 22 minutes on Tuesday.
Thud. Francisco Garcia returned and played 20 minutes, but wasn't effective either with just six points, one rebound, and one assist. Omri Casspi got 16 minutes of run, and had just three boards, one assist, one steal, and no point on 0-for-5 shooting. By Tuesday's result, a value-killing timeshare is in order.
Sun Nov 28 201003:10Greene scores 13 points w/ seven boards
Donte Greene scored 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting (including two threes) with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks in 32 minutes on Saturday.
He is not a must-own player yet, but somebody in your league will take a flier on his upside. That player could be you, but keep in mind that Francisco Garcia (flu) has been out and with the Kings in shambles things could change on a moment's notice. If that works for you -- pick him up.
Fri Nov 26 201001:41Greene starting, but struggling for Kings
Donte Greene started again Thursday, but had just eight points, four rebounds, one assist, one 3-pointer and zero blocks in a blowout loss to the Clippers.
Greene still has some intrigue as a fantasy player, especially when starting, but the Kings look so bad, you might be better off finding another player to add to your team instead of Greene. He has the ability to hit threes and block shots, but they look lost on the court right now.
Tue Nov 23 201001:56Greene struggles with foul trouble a bit
Donte' Greene struggled with some foul trouble on Monday, and finished with 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, one assist, and one block in 23 minutes.
It's a lukewarm follow up to Sunday's 15-point, 10-rebound, three-block game, as he looked good on the court, but the Kings lost and change is always a possibility for Paul Westphal. For now, he did enough to keep his favored fantasy status among Sacramento small forwards.
Sun Nov 21 201020:56Donte' Greene posts 15 & 10 on Sunday
Donte' Greene started Sunday's game at SF and finished with 15 points (1-of-6 from downtown), 10 rebounds, three blocks, and three turnovers in 32 minutes.
Greene could vanish from Sacramento's starting five just as suddenly as he arrived, though Sunday's close battle with the 11-1 Hornets should at least earn him a few more starts. He has intriguing versatility and if you've got a thin bench he's worth an add. You can always cut him next week.
Sat Nov 20 201001:44Greene quiet in start for Kings
Donte Greene started at small forward Friday and had nine points, six rebounds and two steals on 4-of-11 shooting.
He played 35 minutes and is going to end up being a nice source of threes and blocks if he hangs onto the job long term. But the Kings changed starting forwards consistently last year, so who knows how long this is really going to last?
Thu Nov 18 201017:31Donte Greene new starter at SF for Kings
Donte Greene will supposedly be the starting small forward for the Kings until further notice, according to Paul Westphal.
This is interesting because Greene played about a total of seven minutes between an opening-night start and 20 minutes on Wednesday.

Wed Nov 3 201011:49Donte Greene was overweight at camp
Donte Greene arrived at training camp more than 25 pounds overweight, according to the Sacramento Bee.
It's interesting because Greene won the starting shooting guard gig but quickly lost it to Omri Casspi just two games into the season. Greene is now racking up DNP-CDs. We may have a case of a young talent that doesn't quite "get it" just yet.

Tue Nov 2 201001:36Greene gets second straight DNP
Donte Greene had his second straight DNP-CD on Monday against the Raptors.
With Omri Casspi locked into the SF job it looks like he's fallen out of the rotation completely. He's not worth owning at all right now, but if Paul Westphal starts playing games with the rotation things could easily change.
Wed Oct 20 201002:36Donte Greene will start at SF for Kings
Donte Greene started at small forward for the Kings on Tuesday and had six points and five rebounds on 2-of-7 shooting in 20 minutes.
He may or may not keep the job, but for now, he's the starting SF for the Kings. His ability to block and hit threes should give him some value in fantasy leagues, as long as he holds the job.
Tue Oct 19 201004:56Greene officially the starter at SF for Kings
Coach Paul Westphal named Donte' Greene the starting SF for the Kings on Monday.
Omri Casspi will back him up off the bench with limited fantasy value, and this news kills any value that Francisco Garcia or Antoine Wright have. Greene is very athletic and has shown hints of breakout potential, and though his touches will be capped, he's an excellent late-round pick.

Fri Oct 15 201003:42Westphal hints that Greene is his SF
Coach Paul Westphal hinted Thursday that he will be selecting Donte Greene as his starting small forward, with Omri Casspi coming off the bench, according to Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee.
"I'll tell the players what we're going to do before I make an announcement to the press, but it probably shouldn't be too hard to figure out," said Westphal. This would be bad news for Francisco Garcia and Antoine Wright, who will be forced into lesser bench roles. Greene is an athletic freak that can do a little bit of everything, and deserves a look at the end of drafts for that reason alone.

Thu Oct 14 201002:10Greene starts at SF, plays well for Kings
Donte Greene started at small forward for the Kings Wednesday and had 11 points, five rebounds and two 3-pointers on 2-of-6 shooting.
He's still battling Antoine Wright, Francisco Garcia and Omri Casspi for the job, but Greene is an athletic freak. We're going to go ahead and put him at the top of the depth chart, but it remains to be seen who will win the job. Wright also has a good shot at getting the call.
Wed Oct 13 201009:46Greene latest to start at SF
Donte' Greene became third player in four preseason games to start at small forward for the Kings on Tuesday night.
Marcus Landry started the first two games and Antoine Wright got the nod in the third contest. Omri Casspi is headed for a bench role. It's a messy situation that will likely end with all these guys canceling each other out. Avoid them in fantasy.
