Nick Swisher's struggles continued in Friday's loss to the Royals, going 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts.

He also drew a walk in the ballgame, bringing his season slash to .190/.281/.310. He has hit 21 or more home runs in each of the past nine seasons, but with just five thus far in 2014, that streak is in serious jeopardy.

Swisher battled left shoulder discomfort for much of the 2013 season and there was some thought that he might eventually need surgery. But the situation has rapidly improved this winter. "He's fine," Antonetti told MLB.com's Jordan Bastian. "He's unrestricted at this point."
