Fri Dec 28 201209:12Corey Brewer shooting lights out in December
Corey Brewer is averaging 14.2 points, 1.0 steals and 1.5 3-pointers on 50.3 percent shooting through 13 games in December.
Brewer has been on fire, connecting on 38 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc and doing his damage in just 24 minutes per game. With his ability to help owners in points, treys and steals, those in need of help in those categories shouldn't overlook Brewer while he's playing well.

Thu Dec 27 201202:35Corey Brewer ties career high w/ 27 points
Corey Brewer got hot off the bench on Wednesday, hitting 9-of-16 shots and six 3-pointers to tie his career high with 27 points, along with three rebounds, one assist, a steal and two blocks in Wednesday's win over the Lakers.
Brewer missed all three of his shots and scored just two points on Tuesday, and came into this one averaging just over nine points over his previous five games. This could be a sign that he's ready to turn it on again, but it's more likely that he just got hot. He's worth a look in deeper leagues, but not a must-own player at this point. The Nuggets have won seven straight games at home with tonight's win over the Lakers.

Wed Dec 26 201201:31Corey Brewer disappears for Nuggets
Corey Brewer missed all three of his shots for two points, two rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes on Tuesday.
Brewer has cooled off, averaging 9.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, a steal and 0.8 3-pointers over his last five games, while Jordan Hamilton got hot tonight. Hamilton finished with 16 points, four boards, a steal and two 3-pointers on 7-of-9 shooting in just 17 minutes tonight, and a timeshare could be coming for the two bench players. If you own Brewer, you can probably find a better player on your waiver wire, like Matt Barnes.

Wed Dec 19 201200:47Corey Brewer scores 16 off Nuggets bench
Corey Brewer hit 6-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 16 points, four rebounds and a steal off the bench in Tuesday's win.
He failed to hit double figures in his previous two games, but is averaging 12 points, three boards and nearly two 3-pointers over his last five games, making him worth a look in deeper leagues.

Thu Dec 13 201202:29Corey Brewer scores 14, hits two 3-pointers
Corey Brewer hit 6-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 14 points off the bench on Wednesday.
He's scored between 14 and 20 points in each of his last six games, but isn't doing a lot besides scoring and hitting 3-pointers. If you can pick up a hot free agent like Ed Davis, Brewer looks like a guy who can be cut in many formats.

Tue Dec 11 201223:34Corey Brewer stays hot in Nuggets win
Corey Brewer had 15 points, one rebound, one assist and three 3-pointers on 6-of-11 shooting in Tuesday's comeback win over the Pistons.
Don't look now, but Brewer has scored between 15 and 20 points in each of his last five games, despite coming off the bench. We don't trust him long term, but if you need a forward who is hot right now, Brewer certainly qualifies.

Sun Dec 9 201222:28Brewer stays hot, scores 15 pts off bench
Corey Brewer stayed hot in 22 minutes on Sunday, scoring 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting, with three rebounds and one steal.
Brewer's improvement offensively is a testament to his work ethic, and this year he's averaging 1.5 threes on solid 37 percent shooting from downtown. Toss in 11.4 points, 3.1 boards, 1.4 steals and low turnovers, and he's good enough for late-round value in nine-cat leagues.

Fri Dec 7 201223:06Corey Brewer scores 20 points off the bnech
Corey Brewer scored 20 points off the bench on Friday against the Pacers, hitting 9-of-16 shots (including two threes) with four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 28 minutes.
Brewer has been performing at an early round level over the last week and a late round value in 12-team formats on the year. The starters were awful tonight and his bench role will make him an inconsistent play, but he's worth a look while he's hot like this.

Thu Dec 6 201200:16Corey Brewer scores 19 in loss to Hawks
Corey Brewer came off the bench for 19 points for the second straight game, three rebounds, a steal and a 3-pointer on 8-of-15 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Hawks.
He's scored between 12 and 19 points in four of his last five games, draining eight 3-pointers along the way, and is now worth a look in deeper leagues. Wilson Chandler's hip injury may be an issue all season, and Brewer is taking advantage.

Tue Nov 13 201204:07Brewer goes cold in 22 minutes on Monday
Corey Brewer played 22 minutes off the bench on Monday against the Suns, scoring seven points on 3-of-9 shooting (including a three) with two assists.
We warned against biting on some of his bigger lines recently and this is what we had in mind. Owners should probably steer clear with Wilson Chandler back in the rotation.

Sat Nov 10 201206:36Brewer scores 20 points off the bench
Corey Brewer scored 20 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 7-of-14 shots (including five threes) with three rebounds and two steals in 20 minutes off the bench.
Corey's big game puts him at a mid-round value at this early juncture, but he's still averaging just 22.7 mpg and is buried in a log-jam for the Nuggets. Factor in the team's blowout win with this fluky line, and we're not biting in 12-14 team formats.

Fri Oct 26 201200:52Corey Brewer scores 15 points in bench role
Corey Brewer scored 15 points in 25 minutes off the bench on Thursday, making 6-of-15 FGs with two 3-pointers and three rebounds.
Brewer's speed, energy and tenacious defense will earn him a role in the rotation, but his playing time is being directly challenged by Wilson Chandler (who didn't play in this game after getting dental work).

Tue Oct 16 201200:46Corey Brewer scores 15 for Nuggets
Corey Brewer came off the bench to hit 3-of-9 shots, two 3-pointers and 7-of-10 free throws for 15 points, three boards and two assists in 23 minutes on Monday.
Wilson Chandler is nearing a return from a hip injury and these two are going to likely cancel each other out off the Nuggets' bench, once Chandler is healthy. Jordan Hamilton added 11 points and three 3-pointers, further crowding the Nuggets' wing position off the bench.

Mon Oct 15 201209:37Corey Brewer could see his role increased
Corey Brewer could see his role increased this season.
Brewer has played well in the preseason in limited minutes, but we're not adjusting our projections based on the preseason. He's going to have a ton of competition on the wing for consistent time, and he's going to be too inconsistent for owners to be able to rely on him for production. Brewer played 22 minutes per game last season, but managed averages of just 8.9 points and 1.2 steals.

Sat Oct 13 201204:52Brewer scores 24 points against the Spurs
Corey Brewer scored 24 points off the bench in the Nuggets' preseason win over the Spurs on Friday, hitting 8-of-13 shots from the field (2-of-5 from deep, 6-of-12 from the line) with four rebounds and two steals in just 22 minutes.
This was a preseason line if we've ever seen one, and owners shouldn't be adjusting their draft boards based on this one performance. Brewer is going to compete for backup minutes with Wilson Chandler and Andre Miller, among others, and has little-to-no fantasy value in most formats.

Wed Sep 12 201208:43Nuggets want Corey Brewer to improve offense
The Nuggets want Corey Brewer to improve his offensive game.
Specifically, Brewer needs to continue to work on his 3-point shooting and "attacking the rim." Brewer is a great cutter and has solid defensive versatility on the perimeter, and now Denver wants to see some strides on the offensive end. Brewer, a career 30 percent shooter from deep, shot just 26 percent from beyond the arc last season while averaging 8.9 points in 22 minutes per game.

Wed May 9 201209:43Corey Brewer (eye) probable for Game 6
Corey Brewer (eye) is probable for Game 6 on Thursday.
JaVale McGee inadvertently elbowed Brewer and gave him a wicked gash under his left eye. He was woozy and needed help leaving the court after the injury, but the good news is that he didn't suffer a concussion.

Wed May 9 201201:35Corey Brewer leaves with eye injury
Corey Brewer left Tuesday's Game 5 with a laceration under his left eye and did not return.
He finished with two points in 15 minutes, but could have returned tonight had it gone to overtime. He should be fine for Thursday's Game 6, but has become a role player off the bench.

Tue Apr 10 201204:14Brewer scores 13 points off the bench
Corey Brewer scored 13 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 5-of-6 shots from the field (including two threes) with two rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 22 minutes.
Brewer will be worth watching in deeper formats with Al Harrington suffering a torn meniscus in his knee tonight. This type of versatile line is what owners can expect from Brewer on a 'good' night.
