Wed Apr 9 201418:49Chris Andersen will not play on Wednesday
Chris Andersen (knee) will not play against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
He's dealt with back and knee injuries for much of the season and the Heat will let him rest tonight. It's unknown if it's a precaution, but the Heat will want him healthy for the playoffs as their best rim protector on the team. He can be cut in most fantasy formats. Justin Hamilton might get some run tonight.

Tue Apr 8 201423:27Chris Andersen scores five in return
Chris Andersen returned to action from a knee injury on Tuesday, but had just five points, five rebounds and no blocks in the loss.
This is not what his owners were looking for, although we doubt he was in many lineups after sitting out his previous game.

Sun Apr 6 201411:47Chris Andersen (back) will not play on Sunday
Chris Andersen (back, knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Knicks.
With Birdman, Dwayne Wade, and Greg Oden all out expect Bosh to get some extended minutes and shoulder more of the offensive load. The Heat play again on Tuesday vs. Brooklyn and Andersen should be considered questionable for that one. Check back closer to the tip on Tuesday for more updates.

Mon Mar 24 201423:32Andersen double-doubles off the bench
Chris Andersen double-doubled off the bench on Monday against the Blazers, scoring 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting with 11 rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 23 minutes.
Andersen has been a recommended play with the Heat's schedule in his favor, though he also profiles as a guy that could use some rest down the stretch so owners should stay alert. Ray Allen hit just 3-of-10 shots for eight points but had two threes, three boards and three assists as a recommended play, as well.

Wed Mar 19 201423:18Chris Andersen goes for 16 & 8 in loss
Chris Andersen came off the bench for 16 points, eight rebounds and zero blocks on 6-of-7 shooting in Tuesday's loss.
He's not a reliable scorer, but can get loose when guys are sitting out (LeBron James sat tonight), but is averaging 8.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks over his last five games. And with the Heat potentially resting studs on a regular basis the rest of the way, Andersen could finish the season on a high note.

Sat Mar 15 201402:13Andersen blocks four shots, scores 14 points
Chris Andersen scored 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting with six rebounds and four blocks in 22 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Nuggets.
Andersen is coming off a 13-rebound, six-block game on Sunday and with a 4-4-4-4 schedule to wrap things up he's worth a look if you need a big man. That said, he could cool off or get rested as a player with limited durability.

Wed Feb 19 201401:46Chris Andersen scores 18 points in win
Chris Andersen got rid of his mohawk and scored a season-high 18 points to go along with three rebounds and a block as the Heat beat the Mavericks on Tuesday.
He hit 7-of-9 shots and surprisingly, still looked just like Birdman, even without the mohawk. While the points were nice to see, this was one of his lowest rebounding games of the season. And given the fact he came in averaging just 6.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks on the season, he should probably be left on waivers, despite the scoring explosion.

Tue Jan 21 201423:25Chris Andersen scores 13 in Heat win
Chris Andersen hit all five of his shots for 13 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes on Tuesday.
He also had a steal and a block, and is starting to get some run again for the Heat. He's only worth consideration in very deep leagues, as this was just his 10th game of the season in double digits scoring, while he's yet to have more than nine rebounds in a game this year.

Mon Jan 20 201422:18Chris Andersen returns from knee injury
Chris Andersen returned from his knee injury on Monday with eight point, two boards and one block in 17 minutes.
He missed three games with his knee issue and was right back to his usual role off the bench. Andersen plays just 18.5 minutes per game for Miami, so he's only on the radar in deep leagues.

Mon Jan 20 201416:11Chris Andersen is a game-time decision
Chris Andersen is a game-time decision against the Hawks on Monday.
He has been out of the lineup due to a bruised knee and the Heat might hold him out yet again. Andersen is a big help to one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA and really helps protect the paint, but he doesn't have much fantasy value with his limited playing time and injury woes.

Sat Jan 18 201418:11Chris Andersen (knee) sits out vs. Bobcats
Chris Andersen (bruised knee) will sit out again on Saturday, as the Heat face the Bobcats in Charlotte.
Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem will handle the center position in continued absence of the Birdman, who has missed five of the past 11 games and is questionable to return in Atlanta on Monday.

Fri Jan 17 201415:16Chris Andersen will not play on Friday
Chris Andersen (right knee contusion) will not play against the Sixers on Friday.
He has been sidelined for body soreness before and missed the last three games of 2013. Andersen is a bit of an unheralded player for the Heat for his presence inside, but there is not much to like about his fantasy value. It's unclear Greg Oden will play tonight.

Thu Jan 16 201416:39Chris Andersen (body soreness) iffy for Fri.
Chris Andersen (body soreness) remains questionable to play on Friday but he was able to practice on Thursday.
The Heat will re-evaluate him after shootaround, to determine whether one DNP was sufficient time for his 'soreness' to dissipate. Without the Birdman available on Wednesday, Greg Oden (eight minutes) made his season debut and Udonis Haslem (21 minutes) stepped into a bigger role than usual.

Wed Jan 15 201418:04Chris Andersen is out for Wednesday night
Chris Anderson (body soreness) will not play against the Wizards on Wednesday.
This is his second stint for body soreness and his absence may open up some playing time for Greg Oden. To be clear, fantasy owner should not be picking up Greg Oden. Andersen is only worth holding in deep leagues.

Thu Jan 9 201423:12Chris Andersen plays through an illness
Chris Andersen played through an illness on Thursday night vs. the Knicks with two points, three boards, one assist, three steals and one block in 21 minutes.
The Heat went with a bigger lineup in this game, which allowed Andersen to get some extra minutes. Birdman was a little under the weather for tonight's game and should still be well enough to play Friday. Although, he was dealing with some body soreness late last month and the Heat might take it easy on him for Friday's game in a back-to-back set.

Thu Jan 9 201412:44Chris Andersen (illness) probable Thursday
Chris Andersen expects to play on Thursday despite battling an illness.
He was at shootaround but we'll list him as questionable to be on the safe side. He's coming off a season-best 15-point performance, but even so his availability shouldn't have a substantial impact in standard fantasy leagues.

Tue Jan 7 201423:54Birdman scores season-high 15 points vs. NO
Chris Andersen scored a season-high 15 points during Tuesday's 107-88 win over the Pelicans on 7-of-7 shooting, while adding seven boards, two assists, one steal and one block in 23 minutes.
He's made his last nine shots over his last two games and is playing well since returning from body soreness on Jan. 2. Andersen still is not going to see enough minutes to matter in most leagues.

Thu Jan 2 201422:47Chris Andersen returns with 2 points, 2 rebs
Chris Andersen played through his sore back and neck on Thursday and had two points and two rebounds in 17 minutes.
He'll have a bigger role once the playoffs roll around, but by then the fantasy season will be over.
