Fri Jul 8 201113:01Fujita coaching Browns defense in workouts
Scott Fujita plans to introduce Dick Jauron's new 4-3 defense to the Browns' defensive players in an upcoming player-organized minicamp.
"Fortunately, I was able to get some materials and I'll be able to get up on the chalkboard a little bit," Fujita said. It speaks to Fujita's standing as a team leader, but the Browns figure to remain a plus matchup for opposing fantasy players in their first year under Jauron.

Wed Apr 27 201112:41Fujita didn't need surgery for knee injury
The left knee injury that ended Browns LB Scott Fujita's season early did not require surgery.
The Browns never disclosed details on the injury, but the timetable suggests a torn MCL, PCL or meniscus damage. Fujita never played a game after mid-November, but the Browns waited a month to place him on injured reserve. Fujita will be healthy for training camp.

Sat Mar 26 201120:27Fujita to play strong-side linebacker in 2011
Scott Fujita expects to play strong-side linebacker in the Browns' new 4-3 defensive scheme in 2011.
He played outside linebacker in Rob Ryan's 3-4 scheme last season. Obviously Fujita was not going to lose his starting job, and should remain similarly productive in Dick Jauron's new system as long as he can stay healthy. He's missed a combined 12 games the past two seasons.

Sat Mar 19 201116:17Fujita refutes rookie wage scale report
Player representative Scott Fujita has refuted a report from earlier this month that said the league and the former NFLPA had agreed in principle on a new rookie wage scale.
"There was never anything close to an agreement on that," were his exact words. If true, it would mean the NFL and its players are even further apart than most thought in negotiations for a new CBA.

Tue Dec 21 201018:01Browns placed LB Fujita on injured reserve
Browns placed OLB Scott Fujita (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Fujita sustained a knee injury in Week 10, but the Browns never clarified which ligament. Leaving him on the active roster for five weeks suggests it's not an ACL tear. A free agent signee, Fujita was a revelation in his first season with the Browns. He'll return as a starter in 2011.
Sat Dec 18 201019:27Browns LB Fujita ruled out Week 15
Browns LB Scott Fujita (knee) has been downgraded to out for Week 15 at Cincinnati.
Marcus Benard will start in Fujita's place at LOLB for the fourth consecutive week, and has performed well in Fujita's absence. Bengals RB Cedric Benson is our No. 26-ranked RB for Week 15 as he takes on a Browns rush defense that has allowed only four rushing TDs all season.

Sat Dec 11 201019:18Browns LBs downgraded to out Week 14
Browns downgraded LBs Titus Brown (head) and Scott Fujita (knee) to out for Week 14 at Buffalo.
Neither linebacker practiced all week. Marcus Benard will continue to fill in at LOLB for Fujita, as he has been a capable replacement over the last three weeks with Fujita sidelined. Brown is strictly a reserve and special teamer.

Wed Dec 8 201010:48Fujita won't practice this week
Browns OLB Scott Fujita (knee) will be held out of practice this week.
Fujita, who was having a heck of a year in his first season in a 3-4 defense, hopes to be back late in the year, but obviously he won't be playing this weekend. Marcus Benard will continue to fill in, and he's perfectly capable.

Sat Dec 4 201020:40Fujita ruled out for Browns' Week 13 matchup
Browns OLB Scott Fujita (knee) has been downgraded from questionable to out for Sunday's Week 13 game.
Fujita has been a surprise star for the Browns, but they'll have to wait at least another week to get him back on the field. Marcus Bernard has played well in Fujita's absence, posting a sack in two of his last three games.

Tue Nov 30 201011:04Fujita likely out a few more weeks
Browns OLB Scott Fujita (knee) is expected to miss a few more weeks.
Coach Eric Mangini admits the loss of Fujita has really hurt the team. "... his versatility, especially his role on third down, that's been missed, and for a lot of different reasons," Mangini said. "Some of it's the way he plays and some of it is the way he sees the things and communicates out those alerts or adjustments defensively." The Browns are hoping Fujita can make a late-season return.

Wed Nov 17 201011:07Mangini expects Fujita back this season
Browns coach Eric Mangini expects OLB Scott Fujita (knee) to return at some point this season.
The official diagnosis on Fujita still hasn't been revealed, but we do know that he's injured a ligament in his knee. He's expected to miss a handful of games, but it sounds as if Mangini believes this won't be a season-ending injury. David Bowens will replace Fujita in the lineup.

Mon Nov 15 201017:38Scott Fujita out indefinitely
Browns OLB Scott Fujita is expected to be out "a little while" after injuring a knee ligament in the team's Week 10 loss.
He was replaced by David Bowens after the second-quarter injury. Fujita has been rock solid in his conversion to 3-4 outside linebacker this season, racking up 3.5 sacks, 51 tackles, and two forced fumbles. It sounds like he's got a sprained MCL or PCL, though, and could miss multiple weeks.

Sun Nov 14 201014:42Fujita leaves with knee injury
Scott Fujita left Sunday's game against the Jets in the second quarter with a knee injury.
Fujita is questionable to return. David Bowes has come on at outside linebacker.
Sun May 23 201019:40Fujita practicing at ROLB
Scott Fujita practiced as the Browns' first-team right outside linebacker during Organized Team Activities.
The decision is surprising, since ROLB is the primary pass-rushing position in Cleveland's 3-4 defense and Fujita hasn't had more than four sacks in a season since 2004. He'd seem to be a much better fit as a "Ted" inside 'backer. Either way, don't expect much from the Browns' pass rush in 2010.
