Tue Apr 1 201402:46Report: DeSean Jackson to Skins a 'done deal'
A source tells 97.5 radio in Philadelphia that free agent DeSean Jackson signing with the Redskins is a "done deal."
This report was quickly brushed off by a fistful of national media, with most saying a pact is close but not quite done yet. All we know for certain is that Jackson had a good meeting with the Redskins on Monday, spent the evening at the club with some members of the team and will meet again Tuesday. All signs point toward a signing happening then, meaning the Eagles will have to face Jackson twice this season.

Mon Mar 31 201416:49D-Jax indeed in Washington, D.C. on Monday
NFL.com's Albert Breer confirms free agent DeSean Jackson is visiting the Redskins on Monday.
It's D-Jax's first visit. Players rarely escape their first visit without a contract, but it's unclear if the Redskins can truly play ball with Jackson's financial demands.

Mon Mar 31 201410:42Report: 2 teams in deep negotiations w/ D-Jax
Sources tell ESPN's Ed Werder that two teams are in "deep negotiations" with free agent DeSean Jackson.
It's an eyebrow-raiser because Werder says these two teams have not been identified publicly has having interest in Jackson. That rules out the Redskins, Raiders, Bills, Jets and 49ers. And despite serious needs, the Chiefs and Panthers have said they're not interested. We have a couple darkhorses in the mix as Jackson meets with Dan Snyder in Virgina Monday. "Lot of research needs to be done here. High risk, potentially high reward," one NFL head coach told Werder.

Mon Mar 31 201410:11Lions won't be going after DeSean Jackson
Lions coach Jim Caldwell said the Lions have not discussed pursuing free agent DeSean Jackson.
The Lions are still looking for a third receiver behind Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate, but Jackson won't be their man. He'd be too expensive and bring too much risk for that role, especially after the Titus Young disaster. The Detroit Free Press expects the Lions to use a high draft pick on a wideout.

Mon Mar 31 201408:17Redskins don't want to break bank on D-Jax
Sources tell the Washington Post that it's "unclear" if the Redskins will be willing to meet free agent DeSean Jackson's contract demands.
The Redskins' front office is reportedly in "full agreement" in the decision to pursue Jackson, with two sources telling the post they're "all in." But with just $6.8 million in cap space and tons of holes all over the roster, the dollars and cents might not make sense. The Raiders and Bills both have roughly $14 million in available cap space. Jackson was visiting Washington Monday evening and Tuesday. CSN Bay Area reported Sunday that Oakland is willing to make a "substantial" offer.

Sun Mar 30 201419:05Bills doing 'due diligence' on DeSean Jackson
The Buffalo News reports the Bills are "doing their due diligence" on free agent DeSean Jackson.
Beat reporter Tim Graham believes Jackson-to-Buffalo "could happen," and the interest is serious. Some fans apparently think the Bills are set at receiver, but they aren't, and we expect them to be in the mix for Mike Evans at No. 9 overall. The Bills are aiming for a run-heavy offense that sets up deep shots. Like in-place burner Marquise Goodwin, that fits D-Jax's skill set.

Sun Mar 30 201414:58Jets 'wont be a factor' for DeSean Jackson
ESPN New York reports the Jets "won't be a factor" in the hunt for free agent DeSean Jackson, "unless they pull a 180."
Beat writer Rich Cimini reports OC Marty Mornhinweg gave Jackson "his blessing" during the Jets' internal free agent meetings, assuring the front office D-Jax "wouldn't be a problem in the locker room." Cimini believes that "wasn't enough to sway Idzik" into pursuing Jackson. With the Chiefs also dropping it, it appears Jackson's landing spot will come down to Washington versus Oakland.

Sun Mar 30 201409:51Raiders doing 'background work' on D-Jax
NFL Network's Albert Breer reports the Raiders are doing "background work" on free agent DeSean Jackson.
The two sides are said to be interested in hammering out a deal, but the Raiders need to cover all the bases and make sure bringing Jackson "home" to Southern California is the right thing. Jackson is scheduled to visit the Redskins on Monday. Washington and Oakland seem to be the most interested in Jackson. Redskins owner Dan Snyder can throw gobs of money at Jackson, if need be.

Sat Mar 29 201421:38Report: Chiefs out of hunt for DeSean Jackson
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Chiefs have dropped out of the running for free agent DeSean Jackson.
This should send up an immediate red flag to other interested teams, based on coach Andy Reid's history with Jackson. Kansas City also has a wide receiver need. Per RapSheet, the Chiefs "did research" on D-Jax, and opted against signing him. Jackson is scheduled to visit the Redskins on Monday. Many national reporters expect Dan Snyder to out-bid the field for 27-year-old Jackson.

Sat Mar 29 201413:09Bills only want DJax at 'predetermined price'
Buffalo News' Tim Graham reports the Bills only are interested in free agent DeSean Jackson at a "predetermined price" and will not get into a bidding war.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport labeled the Bills a "wild card" landing spot for Jackson. With the list of teams interested in Jackson growing by the minute, it is unlikely the Bills can land Jackson on their terms. The Raiders and Chiefs have emerged as the favorites to land Jackson's services.

Sat Mar 29 201412:17Jackson and Raiders have mutual interest
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent DeSean Jackson "put word out" he was interested in joining the Raiders.
The feeling is mutual as Oakland reportedly began to investigate the possibility of adding Jackson more than a week ago. Jackson's interest makes sense. The Raiders were Jackson's favorite team growing up, and he played his college ball nearby at Cal. There are at least eight other teams also interested in Jackson's services.

Sat Mar 29 201410:47Seven teams contact DJax, NYJ not among them
The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports the Jets are not among the reported seven teams that have contacted DeSean Jackson.
There are still people inside the Jets' organization that are interested in Jackson, but the rumors surrounding his gang affiliations may have scared off GM John Idzik and owner Woody Johnson. The Jets also could just be doing their homework before making any formal inquiries. Jackson is by far the best receiver left in free agency.

Fri Mar 28 201419:01Report: Jackson could command big contract
Profootballtalk reports "it's very possible" DeSean Jackson could command more than the $10.7 million he was due from the Eagles in 2014.
Per PFT's Mike Florio, it's not yet known whether Jackson is seeking a short-term deal that puts him on the market next March, or if he'll sign a multi-year contract. The Chiefs, Jets, and Raiders are all reportedly pursuing Jackson, while as many as six teams have expressed interest. If Jackson signs a one-year deal, Florio expects it to be in the range of $6 million or $7 million.

Fri Mar 28 201418:24Chiefs, Jets, Raiders pursuing DeSean Jackson
Yahoo Sports reports the Chiefs, Jets and Raiders are all pursuing free agent DeSean Jackson.
It confirms earlier reports, as all three teams have been previously linked to Jackson. The 49ers, Patriots, and Seahawks are also believed to have some level of interest. Jackson would be an ideal fit in Kansas City under former coach Andy Reid, but the Chiefs have just $4.66 million in 2014 cap space. Despite an obvious need at receiver, the Panthers have "no interest" in Jackson and have been ruled out as a landing spot.

Fri Mar 28 201417:01Some in Jets organization want WR Jackson
The New York Daily News reports that "people in the Jets' organization" are interested in free agent DeSean Jackson, but it's unclear whether GM John Idzik and owner Woody Johnson are among them.
Idzik and to a lesser extent Johnson make the Jets' decisions, so these are obviously big variables. The logic behind the Jets potentially signing D-Jax could be flawed after they released problem child Santonio Holmes, although Jackson's on-field effectiveness is much greater than Holmes' at this stage of their careers. Johnson did say at this past week's NFL meetings that the Jets "are looking at DeSean," even before he was released.

Fri Mar 28 201415:23Panthers have no interest in DeSean Jackson
Citing a source with "direct knowledge of the team's thinking," Profootballtalk reports the Panthers have "no interest" in free agent DeSean Jackson.
Coach Ron Rivera stated earlier Friday that Carolina would have interest, but the Panthers' front office appears to feel differently. It goes to show just how leery NFL teams are of D-Jax that the league's most wide receiver-needy club is unwilling to sign him. We still think Jackson will have a new home soon.

Fri Mar 28 201414:54Report: Chiefs contact DeSean Jackson's reps
Danny Parkins of 610 Kansas City reports the Chiefs have reached out to the reps for free agent DeSean Jackson.
The dots connect, as Chiefs coach Andy Reid drafted and coached Jackson in Philadelphia, and Kansas City is in the market for a receiver upgrade opposite Dwayne Bowe. Still only 27 years old, Jackson was released by the Eagles on Friday after a story on NJ.com appeared alleging gang ties to the Crips. D-Jax would be a big upgrade on Donnie Avery, and replace Dexter McCluster on punt returns. McCluster signed a three-year deal with Tennessee.

Fri Mar 28 201414:13Panthers HC Rivera interested in DeSean Jax
Panthers coach Ron Rivera told USA Today that "we'd be interested" in free agent DeSean Jackson.
Rivera may be feeling some outside pressure with his receiver corps in shambles five weeks away from the draft. The Charlotte Observer previously reported the Panthers weren't interested in Jackson. Perhaps that feeling has changed. "He's an intriguing player and we'll take a look at him," Rivera said. "I just got word and this is surprising to hear. He's an explosive player who has great vertical speed and is strong going to the ball."

Fri Mar 28 201413:17SF, SEA, NYJ 'definitely' interested in D-Jax
Profootballtalk.com reports the 49ers, Seahawks, and Jets were "definitely" interested in DeSean Jackson before his release.
PFT suggests the Patriots and Raiders "also could be thrown into the mix," though we're skeptical of the former after the Aaron Hernandez situation in New England. Although neither Seattle, San Francisco, nor Gang Green was able to work out a pre-release trade with Philadelphia, this report may provide a hint as to Jackson's landing spot. We expect him to be signed quickly.
