Tue Sep 23 201412:26Taylor will remain on Steelers' roster
Taylor will remain on the Steelers' roster, despite suffering a broken arm in Week 3 that is expected to keep him sidelined for months, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Taylor had a plate put in his forearm during surgery after Sunday's ugly injury and will now be sidelined for the foreseeable future. However, with the Steelers opting to keep Taylor on their roster, the possibility of him returning toward the latter portion of this season has not yet been ruled out. In Taylor's absence, William Gay is expected to start at cornerback opposite Cortez Allen, beginning this Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Mon Sep 22 201400:46Ike Taylor: Suffers Broken Forearm
Taylor suffered a broken forearm in Sunday's 37-19 win over the Panthers, ESPN's Scott Brown reports.
NBC chose not to show the replay after Taylor visibly had his arm broken by the helmet of teammate Lawrence Timmons. It had the look of a potential season-ending injury, leaving William Gay as the starter across from Cortez Allen, with Antwon Blake working as the nickel corner.

Taylor (arm) will not return to Sunday night's game against the Panthers, the Associated Press reports.
Taylor suffered a nasty arm injury in the third quarter and was helped off the field by team medical personnel. His arm was placed in an air cast, which is typically an indicator of a broken bone. The Steelers are yet to provide an official diagnosis, but Taylor's outlook is bleak, based upon how the injury looked on the telecast.

Tue Jun 3 201421:31Ike Taylor admits he was 'so-so' in 2013
Steelers RCB Ike Taylor admits he had a "so-so" year in 2013.
Taylor, 34, is being kind to a season that saw him get burned early and often. "(When) you play long enough, you are going to have a so-so year or two," Taylor said. Although the Steelers have precious little depth behind him, Taylor will be on an extremely short leash this season.

Sun May 25 201416:57Fantasy delight: Ike Taylor remains starter
Steelers RCB Ike Taylor is locked in as a 2014 starter after the team failed to address cornerback in the early rounds.
Pittsburgh didn't draft a corner until round five, where it landed raw athlete Shaquille Richardson. Taylor returns at right corner, with Cortez Allen on the left side and William Gay covering slot receivers in sub-packages. 34 years old and Pro Football Focus' 105th-ranked cornerback out of 110 qualifiers last season, Taylor will be someone to target in fantasy wideout matchups.

Sun Apr 27 201415:19Ike Taylor expects cornerback in first round
Steelers RCB Ike Taylor expects the team to draft a cornerback in the first round.
As do we, with Virginia Tech's Kyle Fuller and Oklahoma State's Justin Gilbert as the top schematic fits for Dick LeBeau. Taylor envisions Pittsburgh selecting a wideout in round two, namely Clemson's Martavis Bryant. Taylor is likely just throwing darts at the board, but has a pretty good grasp of the Steelers' needs. We like Fuller for them in the first and Kelvin Benjamin in the second.

Mon Mar 10 201419:11Steelers CB Ike Taylor agrees to pay cut
Steelers CB Ike Taylor has agreed to take a pay cut to remain with the team.
Taylor, 34 in May, was previously scheduled to earn a $7 million salary and count $11.94 million against the cap in the final year of his deal. It was a smart move on Taylor's part, as the cornerback market is already loaded with veteran castoffs. GM Kevin Colbert continues to stay loyal to his aging players and appears frightened to make a tough decision. Taylor isn't a top cover corner anymore.

Mon Mar 10 201414:25Report: Steelers want Ike Taylor to take cut
CBS' Jason La Canfora reports the Steelers are "working to see" if Ike Taylor will "take a pay cut to stay."
It's long been believed that Taylor would have to take a pay cut to stay with the only team he's ever known. Coming off a rough season, Taylor is scheduled to make $7 million, and count $11.94 million against the cap. There's no way he'll be back without a significant cut.

Wed Jan 29 201416:18Ike Taylor may need to accept a pay cut
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette believes Steelers RCB Ike Taylor will have to accept a pay cut to return in 2014.
Taylor, 34 in May, is scheduled to count nearly $12 million against the cap in the final year of his deal and has a non-guaranteed base salary of $7 million. Taylor can't cover the offense's No. 1 receiver anymore, as he was taken off those duties after being shredded early in the 2013 season. The Steelers will be in the market for some young corners in May's draft.

Fri Dec 20 201317:38Steelers can save $7M by axing Ike Taylor
The Steelers can create $7 million in salary cap space by releasing RCB Ike Taylor this offseason.
The Steelers aren't quite teeming with cornerback depth, but this will be a no-brainer move for Pittsburgh's annually cap-strapped organization. Taylor has fallen directly off the cliff in his age-33 season, will be 34 in May, and is owed a $7 million non-guaranteed salary next year. He's PFF's No. 104 corner among 109 qualifiers in 2013. Only Antonio Cromartie, Leonard Johnson, Derek Cox, Brice McCain, and Cortland Finnegan have been worse.

Thu Nov 7 201310:04Ike Taylor did not practice Wednesday
Ike Taylor (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.
Taylor is in a race to get cleared ahead of Sunday's game against Stevie Johnson and the Bills. The veteran was spectacular last year, but has been routinely roasted in man coverage this year. Taylor is ProFootballFocus' No. 93 corner among 107 qualifiers this season.

Fri Oct 25 201319:44Ike Taylor agrees to restructure contract
Steelers CB Ike Taylor has agreed to restructure his contract.
Taylor's remaining 2013 salary will be converted into a signing bonus. The move reduces his cap hit from $9.5 million to $8 million. The Steelers are now currently $1.675 million under the salary cap.

Mon Dec 31 201212:19Ike Taylor will not need surgery
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that RCB Ike Taylor's hairline leg fracture will not require offseason surgery.
Taylor's injury will heal with rest, and he should be available for the full offseason program. Though he turns 33 in May, Taylor is still playing at a high enough level that the Steelers won't think twice about retaining him at his $6 million scheduled base salary. He'll return as Pittsburgh's top corner.

Wed Dec 26 201212:19Steelers place three on IR ahead of finale
Steelers placed CB Ike Taylor (leg), TE Heath Miller (knee) and RB Baron Batch (arm) on injured reserve, ending their seasons.
There was some hope that Taylor's hairline fracture would be healed enough for him to play in Week 17, but that wouldn't make much sense now that the Steelers are eliminated from playoff contention. Taylor ended up missing the season's final month, but still put together perhaps the finest campaign of his 10-year career. He'll be well worth his $6 million 2013 salary as one of the game's better shadow corners.

Tue Dec 18 201212:17Ike Taylor won't play in showdown vs. Bengals
Steelers CB Ike Taylor (leg) will not play in Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Taylor is out of his walking boot and making progress, but his hairline fracture has not fully healed yet. It leaves the Steelers' secondary extremely shorthanded once again, this time for a must-win game at Cincinnati with playoff berths on the line. The last time these two teams met, Taylor played a major role in holding A.J. Green to a 1/8/1 line. Look for a gimpy Keenan Lewis (hip) to lead a committee defense on Green this time around.

Tue Dec 4 201211:31Ike Taylor out at least two weeks
According to the Post-Gazette, RCB Ike Taylor (leg) will be out "at least two games and possibly longer."
Taylor, who has excelled as a shadow corner for much of this season, has been diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his lower right leg. Previous timetables had his timetable in the 2-6 week range. The Steelers will be forced to roll with nickelback Cortez Allen opposite Keenan Lewis. They're also scheduled to work out free agent Stanford Routt this week.

Sun Dec 2 201221:18Report: Steelers CB Ike Taylor out 2-6 weeks
A source with knowledge of the situation tells Profootballtalk.com that Steelers RCB Ike Taylor is out at least 2-6 weeks with a right fibula injury, and there is "concern that the injury is significant."
Taylor has missed only three games in his career, and none since 2004. He is clearly the Steelers' top cornerback, so the loss is significant. It will also upgrade Danario Alexander's fantasy matchup in Week 14. Special teamer Curtis Brown is listed as Pittsburgh's backup right corner. Keenan Lewis is the LCB.

Sun Dec 2 201217:39Ike Taylor knocked out with ankle injury
Steelers CB Ike Taylor was forced from Pittsburgh's Week 13 game against the Ravens with an ankle injury, and will not return.
Taylor was knocked out early in the first quarter, and spotted with a boot on his foot near the end of the first half. It's a huge blow for a Steelers team that needed him to contain Ravens' deep threat Torrey Smith. It's quite possible Pittsburgh's No. 1 corner will miss multiple weeks. Cortez Allen has been getting picked on in Taylor's absence.
