Felton (ankle) could begin his four-game suspension as early as Tuesday against Sacramento, Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Felton is suspended for his first four games of the season after agreeing to a plea deal stemming from criminal weapons possession charges. He's yet to begin the suspension, as a severely sprained ankle has prevented him from being listed as active. Once he's healthy enough to earn that designation, he'll begin serving the suspension.

Felton (ankle) is "doubtful" to begin his suspension Sunday, according to head coach Rick Carlisle, Eddie Sefko of Dallas Morning News reports.
Felton is facing a four game suspension, but that punishment will not start until he's actually healthy enough to be on the court. If he's able to start his suspension on Tuesday, he will not be eligible to play until November 19.

Felton (ankle) does not have any restrictions and is expected to be available as soon as Sunday, The Dallas Morning News reports. However, once deemed healthy, he will begin his four-game suspension.
Felton hasn't been healthy enough to play in any games this season and won't be penalized for his offseason trouble with the law until he's actually healthy enough to be on the court. If he's healthy by Sunday, he will be eligible to make his season debut Nov. 17 against the Hornets.

Felton (ankle) is considered doubtful for Thursday's game against the Blazers, The Oregonian reports.
Felton missed this season's first four games after being suspended for pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a firearm and weapon in July. Although he's eligible to return for Thursday's game in Portland, a sprained right ankle will likely prevent Felton from being able to do so.

Felton won't be able to practice for the first week of the regular season as he continues to nurse a right high ankle sprain, The Star-Telegram reports. Although, Felton still faces a four-game suspension which would have sidelined him during the first week of the season regardless.
Felton sprained his ankle two weeks ago and has been limited to pool exercises ever since. However, he pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a firearm and weapon in July and was sentenced to a four-game suspension from the NBA as a result. This suspension won't allow him to be available until Nov. 6 against the Trail Blazers. Barring a setback with his ankle injury, the Nov. 6 return date will likely give him enough time to rehab his ankle back to health.
Thu Oct 23 201414:21Felton (foot) has progressed to doing exercises in pool
Felton (foot) has progressed to doing exercises in a pool, Earl Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
Felton is nursing a high ankle sprain and has exceeded the original 10-day recovery timeline. However, with the regular season still a week away, and Felton facing a four-game suspension, he'll have plenty of time to continue his recovery before taking the floor for the first time in a Mavs uniform.
Sun Oct 12 201415:04Felton has severe ankle sprain and will be out at least 10 days
Felton has a severe ankle sprain and will be out at least 10 days, Mavs' official site reports.
This 10 day timetable for Felton's return indicates that he has a fairly severe ankle sprain. Felton will have more than 10 days to recover before the regular season starts, so expect him to take as much time as he needs to heal his ankle. Even if Felton does start the season off healthy though, he will only be worth a late round pick in deeper leagues.

Felton suffered a sprained right ankle Friday in Dallas' preseason game against Oklahoma City, ESPN Dallas reports.
Felton was helped off the court but x-rays were negative. Even if he is healthy by opening night, he will miss the first four games of the year due to suspension.

Felton scored six points (2-of-2 FG, 2-of-6 FT) Tuesday in a preseason loss to the Rockets. He added one steal in 12 minutes of action.
Felton came off the bench behind starter Jameer Nelson and Devin Harris. He will have to fight for minutes after he returns from his four-game suspension.
Thu Aug 7 201415:09Raymond Felton: Suspended Four Games
Felton will be suspended four games to begin the 2014-15 season, NBA.com reports.
After pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm in late July, the final stanza of his punishment has been issued by commissioner Adam Silver. Once he's eligible to take the court, he'll have to contend with Devin Harris and Jameer Nelson for run at the point.

Raymond Felton was fined $5,000 and sentenced to 500 hours of community service on Wednesday, as part of his plea bargain involving weapons charges.
Felton pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, but he avoided jail time or probation. The NBA has not announced any punishment for Felton, who may face a short suspension to begin the season. Whether he'll start at PG for the Mavericks remains uncertain, as Dallas has shown interest in veteran free agents Mo Williams and Jameer Nelson.

Tue Jul 8 201417:54Raymond Felton vows to be an 'elite' PG
Mavericks PG Raymond Felton is eager to "show everybody that ... [he] can still play as an elite point guard at this level."
Acknowledging his struggles and vowing to turn things around has become a tiresome summer ritual for Felton, who averaged a career-worst 9.7 points and 5.6 assists last season. "I was just fighting with a lot of injuries and I was fighting with a lot of mental stuff off the court," Felton said. He faced felony weapon charges after allegedly threatening his wife with a handgun, but avoided jail time by reaching a plea bargain in June. He claims to be in his best physical shape in "four or five years," but despite his offseason optimism fantasy owners should pass over him until the late rounds.

Tue Jul 8 201413:54Raymond Felton in best shape in 4-5 years
Raymond Felton said he's in the best shape he's been in for the last four or five years.
"I'm in the best shape I've been in for the last 4 or 5 years," Felton said on Tuesday. The 30-year-old also added that he plays best in a free-flowing system like Rick Carlisle's systems, which can be backed up by career-high numbers that he posted with the Knicks under Mike D'Antoni during the 2010-11 season. While the bar wasn't set very high to begin with, it's a promising sign that Felton is getting himself in shape as he prepares to open the season as the Maverick's starting point guard. If Felton can stay healthy, he could end up providing a solid return to fantasy owners who take a chance on him later in drafts.

Fri Jun 27 201420:19Raymond Felton looking forward to Dallas
Raymond Felton said he's looking forward to a fresh start in Dallas and would also like to play with Carmelo Anthony.
Felton is coming off the worst year of his career and was perhaps the worst starting point guard in the entire league. "A lot of things happened last year. It's going to be good to just put all that behind and just move on and start off fresh," Felton said. While changing uniforms could only help him, we still can't sign off on targeting him in fantasy leagues due to how awful he was last season.

Wed Jun 25 201417:53Raymond Felton sent to Dallas in big trade
Raymond Felton was traded to the Mavericks on Wednesday.
The Mavericks obviously didn't make this deal to bring on Felton and the $3.8 million on his contract this year or the $4.0 on his player option for next season. Last season, Felton turned in career lows in points, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and steals while his minutes were the fewest he's played since his rookie year. The Mavericks will likely play Monta Ellis at the point a little more and we're not very bullish on a Felton bounce-back year despite how a change of scenery can only help him.

Wed Jun 25 201416:24Mavs close to getting Ray Felton in big deal
The Mavericks are close to trading for Raymond Felton, according to ESPN.com.
He was horrible last season in what was his worst year as a pro. Felton also just pleaded guilty to two felony gun charges this week, but he will not receive jail time. Although, the NBA may suspend him. Coach Rick Carlisle probably wouldn't feel too comfortable starting him and he's more or less thrown into this deal so they can bring in Tyson Chandler.

Mon Jun 23 201410:15Ray Felton will avoid jail for gun charges
Raymond Felton will avoid jail time for his two felony counts of weapon possession from Feb. 25, 2014.
He plead guilty as part of an agreement with the court, which will have him serve community service and pay a fine. Felton had some serious gun charges filed against him in Manhattan, so he should be considered lucky to stay out of jail. Meanwhile, his guilty plea will likely have the NBA take a look at this and could suspend him.

Fri May 16 201409:39Report: Knicks plan to trade Raymond Felton
Raymond Felton was reportedly told during his exit interview that the Knicks will trade him this summer.
The news came directly from team president Phil Jackson, according to SNY.tv, and it's not a shocking development given Felton's struggles to run New York's offense under former coach Mike Woodson. In addition to conditioning issues and a sub-40 percent shooting average, Felton faces multiple felony charges this summer related to weapons possession.

Wed Apr 16 201418:17Raymond Felton will not play on Wednesday
Raymond Felton (ankle) will not play against the Raptors on Wednesday.
The Knicks will start Pablo Prigioni in his place and Felton's season has ended. It was a disaster both on and off the court, but he'll likely be back with the Knicks next season. This year was his first with a single-digit points-per-game scoring average of his career and he probably won't be worth drafting in standard leagues next year.
