General manager Terry Ryan indicated Thursday that Hughes (hip) isn't really an issue and he's expected to make his next start Monday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Hughes exited Wednesday's game after just five innings and a lower than usual pitch count due to the hip flexor strain, but the issue appears to be minor. Assuming no setbacks occur when he throws his bullpen session, he should toe the rubber as scheduled Monday.

Not only did he walk as many guys in the season as some pitchers do in a month, but he combined his superb control with 186 strikeouts, showcasing his ability to still miss bats while living in the strike zone. Hughes came at a bargain on draft day this season, but look for him to be treated as at least a solid No. 3 fantasy starter going into next season.

Hughes allowed four runs on 10 hits, he did not walk a batter and struck out five over seven innings but came away with a no-decision in the Twins' 5-4 win over Cleveland in 10 innings Friday night.

Hughes was, as he has all season, throwing strikes (68 of 90 pitches), but as sometimes happens, he missed in the zone a little too often leading to four runs, and a no-decision. He's walked just one batter in his last seven starts, and he'll carry a very respectable 3.61 ERA as he goes for his 16th win against Arizona in his final 2014 start.

Friday's game against the White Sox has been postponed due to rain, LaVelle Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

As a result, both Hughes and Jose Quintana will be moved back to start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, with Logan Darnell to follow for the Twins in the nightcap. Trevor May will still start Sunday, meaning Tommy Milone now goes Monday.

Hughes has been spectacular in August, winning all four of his starts while surrendering just four runs this month in 27.1 innings pitched.

Hughes has not been one for consistency of late, having posted just four quality outings in his last ten starts. However, for the most part Hughes has been solid this year with a 4.01 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a fantastic 127:14 K:BB ratio in 143.2 innings pitched this season. Hughes is scheduled to make his next start Sunday on the road against the A's.
