Wed Jun 19 201322:56Kyle Kendrick gets tough-luck no-decision
Kyle Kendrick deserved a win but was dealt a no-decision Wednesday, as he held the Nationals to one run on just two hits and a walk over 7 2/3 innings.
Kendrick struck out six and gave up only an Adam LaRoche single in the second and Jayson Werth RBI single in the seventh, but Jonathan Papelbon was unable to nail down the one-run victory. The outing comes after Kendrick's worst of the season, though that was at Coors Field and, thus, forgivable. He'll get the Padres in San Diego next.

Sat Jun 15 201300:48Kendrick tagged for seven runs in no-decision
Kyle Kendrick was knocked around for a season-high seven runs in 4 1/3 innings Friday in a no-decision against the Rockies.
Kendrick gave up 10 hits (including two home runs) and failed to register a strikeout. He had given up seven runs combined over his previous three outings, but a clunker at Coors Field shouldn't be considered shocking. He'll have a good chance to bounce back next week when he faces the Nationals at home.

Kyle Kendrick held the Red Sox to two runs over six innings to pick up his fifth win of the year on Wednesday.
Kendrick hadn't won a start since May 7, despite his season ERA being just 3.27 through Wednesday's outing. The right-hander allowed a home run to Daniel Nava in the sixth inning but was otherwise solid, allowing just four hits in total to go along with three walks. His next turn should also yield good results, as he faces the Marlins on Monday.

Sat May 18 201319:20Kendrick allows four runs as Phillies lose
Kyle Kendrick was hammered for four runs in six innings Saturday as the Phillies fell to the Reds.
Kendrick gave up eight hits and walked four while watching his ERA balloon from 2.47 to 2.82 and his WHIP from 1.06 to 1.15. It's no surprise that the shine is starting to wear off here in mid-May. The 28-year-old right-hander owns an underwhelming 4.18 career ERA.

Sun May 12 201321:05Kyle Kendrick throws another quality start
Kyle Kendrick gave up two runs on six hits over seven innings in his start Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
Kendrick was effective for the most part, but he was outpitched by Brandon McCarthy and was lucky to come away with a no-decision. He was able to escape a two-run first inning and managed four strikeouts and no walks. Kendrick has now pitched six or more innings and allowed two or fewer runs in seven straight starts. He's still more of an NL-only option, but is worth using as a spot starter in mixed leagues.

Wed May 8 201301:17Kyle Kendrick goes seven innings for win
Kyle Kendrick yielded two runs in seven innings and struck out six in a win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Since giving up five runs in a loss his first time out, Kendrick is 4-0 with a 1.71 ERA in six starts. The Phillies' only defeat in those outings came in a 1-0 game against the Reds. Kendrick isn't this good, obviously, but he is a much improved pitcher over the guy who had a 4.73 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 180 2/3 innings in 2010. He makes for a decent enough spot starter in mixed leagues.

Kyle Kendrick pitched seven innings of two-run ball Thursday in the Phillies' 7-2 win over the Marlins.

Fri Apr 26 201322:10Kendrick delievers three-hit shutout vs. Mets
Kyle Kendrick threw his second career shutout in a 4-0 win over the Mets on Friday night.
Kendrick was in complete control throughout, limiting the Mets to three hits (all singles) and one walk. He struck out five batters and needed just 97 pitches to finish off the gem. The 28-year-old struggled in his season debut, but now has a nifty 2.41 ERA through five starts. He's picking up momentum as a fantasy option and could make for a savvy streaming option against the Marlins next week.

Sun Apr 21 201323:42Kyle Kendrick holds Cardinals to two runs
Kyle Kendrick held the Cardinals to just two runs on eight hits over six innings Sunday in a no-decision.
Kendrick threw seven scoreless innings in his last outing and has now put together back-to-back quality starts. But while he's been a viable No. 4 starter for the Phillies this season, the right-hander still isn't worth using outside of NL-only fantasy formats. His next start will come Friday vs. the Mets.

Wed Apr 10 201322:39Kendrick good enough in win over Mets
Kyle Kendrick allowed two runs over six innings as the Phillies defeated the Mets on Wednesday.
Kendrick wasn't spectacular, but he didn't need to be against one of the weaker lineups in baseball. The 28-year-old scattered eight hits and two walks while striking out six over his six innings. The only runs came on two solo home runs. He'll next take the mound Tuesday against the Reds in Cincinnati.

Tue Mar 19 201316:53Kyle Kendrick strong for six innings in win
Kyle Kendrick allowed an unearned run and two hits over six innings in beating the Yankees on Tuesday.
Kendrick is getting a permanent rotation spot this year after a couple of seasons in a swingman role. If he can maintain the gains he made with his strikeout rate last year, he should be a pretty good No. 4 for the Phillies. Still, with Roy Halladay looking iffy, it's worth wondering if the Phillies wouldn't be better off trading for a starter and pushing Kendrick back to middle relief if need be.

Kendrick is set to make a good chunk of change this winter via arbitration, and it will be interesting to see if the Phillies choose to tender him a contract.
