Fri Apr 1 202210:42Grayson Rodriguez To Start At Triple-A
Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Grayson Rodriguez, the team's top pitching prospect, will begin his season at Triple-A Norfolk. Rodriguez made 18 starts at Double-A Bowie last year and five with High-A Aberdeen, going a combined 9-1 with a solid 2.36 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 161 strikeouts and 27 walks over 23 starts covering 103 innings. The 22-year-old right-hander was the 11th overall pick in 2018 and has become the best pitching prospect in baseball entering the 2022 season. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder has a legitimate four-pitch mix, highlighted by a high spin-rate fastball and a nasty slider as his out pitch. If Rodriguez continues to refine his command at the minor league's top level this year, he could make his big-league debut with the O's at some point in 2022.
