Fri Dec 6 201318:51Andrew Nicholson will start vs. Knicks
Andrew Nicholson is in the starting lineup against the Knicks on Friday.
He'll start at power forward next to Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo, Victor Oladipo and Glen Davis. Nicholson played 38 minutes against the Sixers on Tuesday and is worth a look as a spot-start vs. a weak NYK frontcourt.

Wed Nov 27 201322:11Andrew Nicholson scores 11 points
Andrew Nicholson scored 11 points off the bench against the Sixers on Wednesday, adding five boards and one 3-pointer in 17 minutes.
The Magic gave Glen Davis some more minutes tonight and have been more than comfortable using a smaller lineup. Nicholson gets hot from time to time, including his 18-point game on Tuesday, but he's not quite worth owning in most leagues.

Tue Nov 26 201323:53Andrew Nicholson drops 18 off the bench
Andrew Nicholson saw an unexpected 25 minutes of action on Tuesday, scoring 18 points with eight boards, one block and one 3-pointer on 8-of-11 shooting.
Tobias Harris was a late scratch with an ankle injury, so Nicholson got the call as the main guy off the bench with Glen Davis moving into the starting lineup. Harris isn't expected to be out long, so Nicholson is only worth a look in deeper leagues on a short-term basis.

Sun Nov 3 201320:54Andrew Nicholson posts 17 & 11 off bench
The Magic beat the Nets by 21 points on Sunday with a boost from Andrew Nicholson, who double-doubled off the bench with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
He even blocked a shot and went without any turnovers in his 26 minutes on the court, earning the favor of any nine-cat owners using him as a low-end big man. His per-minute stats are impeccable this year, other than a whopping 6.4 personal fouls per 36 minutes.

Fri Nov 1 201323:26Nicholson scores nine points with five rebs
Andrew Nicholson scored nine points with five rebounds in 30 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Nicholson hit 4-of-10 shots (including a three) and saw extra minutes because of the lopsided score, but he has yet to follow up on his big night and with returns for Tobias Harris and eventually Big Baby on the way he's only worth watching in deep leagues.

Tue Oct 29 201322:33Andrew Nicholson scores 18 in season opener
Andrew Nicholson scored all 18 of his points in the first half of Tuesday night's game against the Pacers, adding four rebounds, one steal and two 3-pointers in 19 minutes.
He shot 8-of-9 in the first half and missed his only shot in the second half. Interestingly, Nicholson did not play at all in the third quarter and didn't play down the stretch in the fourth. The Magic were unbelievably bad on offense and without Nicholson's production, they scored 69 points on 83 field goal attempts. He'll have a tough time keeping it up once Tobias Harris (ankle) comes back, but he's worth a look as a stop-gap option in deeper leagues.

Sat Oct 26 201309:01Report: Magic to option Andrew Nicholson
According to reports, the Orlando Magic plan to exercise their third-year team option on Andrew Nicholson.
The Magic have until October 31st to exercise the option or Nicholson would become a restricted free agent next July. He is battling Tobias Harris for the starting job at PF while Glen Davis (foot) recovers.

Wed Oct 16 201323:28Andrew Nicholson plays well in loss to HOU
Andrew Nicholson started at power forward in Wednesday's preseason loss and hit 6-of-8 shots and three 3-pointers for 15 points and nine rebounds.
Tobias Harris, who sat out tonight, is the favorite to start at PF, but Nicholson appears to be capable, while Glen Davis will also eventually be back. This could result in a log jam of sorts, and while we like the idea of drafting Harris in the later middle rounds of drafts, he could be a roller coaster ride after blowing up in Orlando late last season.

Sun Sep 8 201309:06Canada falls despite Nicholson's 29 points
Canada fell to the Dominican Republic during the FIBA Americas tournament on Saturday, despite getting a game-high 29 points from Andrew Nicholson.
The Magic forward had his way offensively, shooting 12-of-19 from the field with three 3-pointers, though he and Cory Joseph both committed six turnovers each. Tristan Thompson added 14 points (5-of-7 FGs, 4-of-8 FTs), but it wasn't enough to beat a D.R. team led by Rockets swingman Francisco Garcia's 19 points and three steals. Canada returns to action vs. Argentina on Sunday.

Sat Aug 24 201310:34Nicholson hitting from downtown for Canada
Andrew Nicholson scored a team-high 21 points in Canada's loss to Puerto Rico on Thursday.
Nicholson is an impressive 5-of-6 from downtown in Canada's past two games, though he attempted zero 3-pointers as a rookie and isn't likely to spend much time on the perimeter this season, either. The Magic frontcourt is uncomfortably crowded but Nicholson will play significant minutes until Glen Davis (foot) is healthy.

Fri Jul 19 201315:49Andrew Nicholson a work in progress for Magic
Andrew Nicholson averaged 2.6 rebounds during Summer League, and the Magic want him to work on both his rebounding and defense.
The second-year PF added muscle to his upper body this summer, but he still struggles with positioning, turnovers and consistency. His role was already uncertain with Tobias Harris, Glen Davis and Kyle O'Quinn fighting for frontcourt minutes, and the addition of Jason Maxiell should knock Nicholson out of fantasy contention on draft day.

Tue Jul 9 201322:17Andrew Nicholson struggles with ball security
Andrew Nicholson committed six turnovers and often had the ball knocked out of his hands while in the post during Tuesday's summer league game.
Nicholson also committed four fouls and had just three points and two rebounds in roughly 19 minutes. It was a far cry from him 19-point, four-rebound, three-assist performance Monday. Nicholson remains a work in progress and is not ready for fantasy consideration.

Mon Jul 8 201313:07Andrew Nicholson bounces back Monday
Andrew Nicholson bounced back in Monday's Summer League game, scoring 19 points with four boards, three assists and one block on 7-of-13 shooting in 31 minutes.
He shot just 1-of-9 on Sunday and went back to playing inside on Monday. Nicholson didn't take any 3-pointers in Monday's game, which has been an area he's been focusing on this offseason. He's still not on the radar in fantasy leagues yet.

Sun Jul 7 201320:20Andrew Nicholson awful in Sunday's game
Magic PF Andrew Nicholson had a disastrous game in Summer League on Sunday, scoring seven points on 1-of-9 FGs, with three rebounds, one assist, three turnovers and seven personal fouls.
He didn't have any steals or blocks, either, and his supposedly improved outside shot wasn't on display as he missed his only 3-point attempt. He'll have a chance to get on track vs. the Thunder on Monday.

Fri Jul 5 201311:58Andrew Nicholson working on his 3-point game
Andrew Nicholson has been working on his 3-point shooting this offseason.
He made eight triples in a row in summer league practice on Friday. Nicholson fell out of favor with the Magic down the stretch, but he's a decent shooter. He shot a solid 45.3 percent on shot attempts deeper than 16 feet last season on his 161 attempts. Nicholson also put on some weight in the upper body, which might help his disastrous defense from last season. He has his work cut out for him, but we'll be watching him in summer league.

Wed Apr 3 201322:51Andrew Nicholson lasts just nine minutes
Andrew Nicholson made a surprise start at power forward Wednesday, but posted just two points in nine minutes.
Nicholson had previously started 25 games this season, averaging 10.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 22.0 minutes. But now that Tobias Harris -- who started at small forward in this one -- is excelling at the power forward spot, there's no room for Nicholson.

Wed Apr 3 201320:25Nicholson in at PF, shifting Magic rotations
Andrew Nicholson will start at PF for the Magic on Wednesday, moving Tobias Harris to SF, Maurice Harkless to SG, and DeQuan Jones to the bench.
The move could be a one-time change vs. the Spurs, but owners searching for a cheap big man should scoop Nicholson off the wire in case he sticks at PF.

Fri Mar 29 201322:59Andrew Nicholson plays 28 minutes in return
Andrew Nicholson returned to the lineup from an ankle injury on Friday, scoring 14 points with five boards, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes.
He has been a mess for most of the season and his defense certainly needs work. Nicholson has been given ample opportunity for most of the season and has squandered it for the most part and he'll be in a timeshare with Kyle O'Quinn at best while Nikola Vucevic (concussion) is on the mend.

Fri Mar 29 201317:51Andrew Nicholson to be available Friday night
Andrew Nicholson (ankle) will be available to play Friday night against the Wizards.
Nicholson was hurt Monday and missed Wednesday's game. He'll return in a bench role behind the suddenly unstoppable Tobias Harris, but Nicholson should see some more minutes than usual with Nikola Pekovic (concussion) unable to go.

Wed Mar 27 201311:20Andrew Nicholson won't play on Wednesday
Andrew Nicholson (ankle) did not travel to Charlotte and will not play on Wednesday.
Nicholson left Monday's game with a sprained ankle and did not return, so the Magic will rely even more on Tobias Harris, Moe Harkless and Kyle O'Quinn down low with Nikola Vucevic (concussion) also out.
