Tue Sep 18 201212:00Demaryius Thomas stays hot for Broncos
Over his last nine games (including playoffs), Demaryius Thomas has 48 catches for 933 yards and six touchdowns.
Projected over 16 games, those numbers equate to 85 catches, 1,658 yards and 10 touchdowns. Thomas' freakish size/speed combination has caught Peyton Manning's eye as he has racked up a team-high 18 targets compared to 15 for Eric Decker through two weeks. He's clearly the No. 1 wideout in Denver.

Tue Sep 18 201200:58Thomas leads Broncos with 78 yards and TD
Demaryius Thomas caught eight passes for 78 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons in Week 2.
Thomas saw 13 targets on the night and could have had himself another touchdown if he had held onto a 22-yard Peyton Manning pass before getting hit in the end zone by Falcons safety William Moore. Thomas battled a shoulder injury during the practice week, but it didn't seem to hold him back. His touchdown came from 17 yards out and he is clearly Manning's favorite redzone target. Thomas and the Broncos face a tough Houston defense in Week 3.

Sat Sep 15 201215:34Broncos WR Thomas probable for Monday night
Demaryius Thomas (shoulder) put in a full practice on Saturday and is probable for Monday night.
Thomas was a full participant in practice all week, so his status for Week 2 was never in doubt. After a shaky preseason, Thomas had a monster Week 1 against Pittsburgh, catching five balls for 110 yards and a nice 71-yard touchdown. Monday night's matchup with the Falcons has the makings of a potential shootout, with both teams missing a key cornerback.

Mon Sep 10 201200:11Demaryius goes for 110 yards in Peyton debut
Demaryius Thomas put on a show in Peyton Manning's Broncos debut Sunday, corralling five passes for 110 yards and a touchdown.
With just three catches for 31 yards midway through the third quarter, Thomas made the play of the night, flaring out on a screen to make a catch he'd take 71 yards to the house. Thomas didn't have to break any tackles on his score, but was routinely shedding defenders on his other four grabs, showing the strength that makes him such a special talent. Thomas tied with Eric Decker for a team-high seven targets. After Thomas' hype train began to lose steam near the end of the preseason, it would be justified in ramping back up.

Thu Sep 6 201218:12Manning-to-Thomas timing still "balky'
The timing between Peyton Manning and Demaryius Thomas has reportedly been "balky at times" during training camp practices.
Thomas acknowledged during the offseason that his route running would have to improve after the bulk of his 2011 production came via free lancing with Tim Tebow. According to beat writer Andrew Mason, there remains "lingering concern over the precision of his cuts." This may seem like a petty concern in fantasy circles, but it's one area where Eric Decker has a clear advantage. Manning will look for Decker if his first read isn't there.

Sun Aug 26 201218:23Demaryius Thomas overshadowed by Decker
Demaryius Thomas had two catches for 25 yards in Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Eric Decker and his two touchdowns will get all the headlines, but Thomas' usage was encouraging as well. He caught both of his targets underneath the coverage and showed tackle-breaking ability. That's going to be a must with Peyton Manning shading toward a short-to-medium range passing attack. Blessed with unique athleticism, Thomas remains an upside play in the middle rounds. We wouldn't be overly concerned with his meager five catches for 53 yards through three preseason games.

Tue Aug 7 201211:01Demaryius Thomas back at practice Tuesday
Demaryius Thomas was back at practice Tuesday after his surgically-repaired Achilles tightened up Monday.
Thomas' soreness was unnerving because of where it occurred, but it won't be an issue going forward. In the midst of one of the most successful comebacks for any player from a torn Achilles' tendon, Thomas is Rotoworld's No. 14 receiver.

Mon Aug 6 201219:18Demaryius dealing with Achilles tightness
Demaryius Thomas missed part of Broncos practice Monday after his Achilles "tightened up."
The tightness was presumably in the right Achilles' tendon that Thomas tore in December 2010. Coach John Fox said the soreness wasn't "anything serious," but it will be a concern if it pops up again. Denver will head to Chicago for its preseason opener on Thursday.

Sat Jul 28 201217:54Demaryius Thomas improves route running
Champ Bailey noted that WR Demaryius Thomas is "on top of" his route running this year.
"He's running his routes as crisp and can be and he's catching the ball," said Bailey. We're monitoring Thomas' progress in that area because the majority of second-half production came while free-lancing on Tim Tebow's broken plays. "(His ceiling is) as high as you want to make it," Bailey added. "It's really up to him. He has the talent and the raw skills."

Thu Jun 28 201214:06Demaryius must improve route tree
Demaryius Thomas acknowledges that he will have to improve the precision of his routes with Peyton Manning at quarterback.
"You're gonna have to run the whole route tree now," said Thomas. "The comebacks, the slants, the posts, the ins. And I didn't have to do that much when I was my first couple of years in the league." Thomas already possessed elite physical tools. If he succeeds in honing his fundamentals, a monster fantasy season awaits with Manning under center.

Thu Jun 7 201219:33Demaryius Thomas has chance to be 'special'
Former NFL scout Gary Horton says Demaryius Thomas "will be something special" if he stays healthy this season.
Achilles' tendon, foot and finger injuries have hampered Thomas during his two-year NFL career. But when on the field, he's shown unique explosion and athleticism at 6'3/235. Now that Peyton Manning is in town, Thomas is a clear top-20 wideout option with plenty of upside.

Wed May 23 201222:49Demaryius Thomas wants to play lighter
Demaryius Thomas intends to play the 2012 season ten pounds lighter than he did last year.
"I actually trimmed down a little to 228," Thomas said. "I played 232 last year. I want to play at 222." While there is a (false?) perception that playing heavier helps durability, we always like to hear of players cutting pounds because it can make them more explosive. Thomas was already incredibly explosive playing in the 230s. Including the playoffs, he averaged 20.2 yards per catch last season. Thomas is a candidate to tilt coverage this year.

Tue Apr 17 201213:36Demaryius Thomas underwent finger surgery
Demaryius Thomas underwent surgery on his left pinkie finger last month to remove a pin inserted after a practice injury last September.
Unlike Eric Decker, Thomas hasn't been able to take part in recent workouts with new quarterback Peyton Manning. The good news is that the surgery was minor and Thomas is in attendance for this week's team workouts.

Thu Apr 12 201215:11Demaryius Thomas not sad to see Tebow go
Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said Thursday that he wasn't "sad" to hear Tim Tebow was traded because he "wasn't getting no balls" last season.
Although Tebow was portrayed as a locker room leader, Thomas revealed that teammates would call him out by saying, "Tim you gotta make that throw. You gotta read the defenses better." Thomas can expect better throws if not more volume from Peyton Manning. As Rotoworld's Mike Clay points out, no wide receiver in the NFL was seeing a greater percentage of his team's targets late in the 2011 season.

Thu Feb 16 201220:19Demaryius Thomas a fantasy stud in 2012?
Extrapolated over a full season, Demaryius Thomas' final seven games would have left him as the No. 2 fantasy receiver in 2011.
Tim Tebow made sweet music with Eric Decker until Thomas emerged as the clear-cut No. 1 receiver in Week 13. Brandon Lloyd posted borderline WR1 numbers in three 2010 games with Tebow, so there's plenty of evidence that his top read can be a fantasy stud. The caveat with Thomas is that he's among biggest injury risks in the NFL.

Sun Jan 15 201200:05Demaryius Thomas totals 93 yards in loss
Demaryius Thomas led the Broncos with 93 yards on six receptions against the Patriots in the Divisional round of the playoffs.
Thomas had a bad third-drop early, and Tim Tebow missed him wide open down the field shortly thereafter. His fourth-quarter 41-yard catch-and-run was the biggest play of the game for Denver, but he was tackled just shy of the goal line. After starting slowly while returning from Achilles surgery, Thomas' furious finish produced 106.4 yards per over the final seven games. He'll enter the 2012 season as the Broncos' No. 1 receiver and an injury-prone, high-upside WR2/3 fantasy option.

Thu Jan 12 201214:01Demaryius Thomas second only to Megatron
Since Dec. 1, Demaryius Thomas' 108.7 yards per game are second in the NFL behind only Calvin Johnson.
Thomas and Johnson are doing Georgia Tech faithful proud. Averaging 22.5 yards per catch, Thomas has 29 receptions for 652 yards and four TDs in his last six games compared to a 29/386/3 in the first 16 games of his career. It's early yet, but he looks like one of the few wide receiver success stories in returning from Achilles surgery.

Sun Jan 8 201220:22Demaryius explodes for 204 yds, game-winner
Demaryius Thomas caught four balls for 204 yards and the game-winning touchdown in the Broncos' Wild Card round upset of Pittsburgh.
Lining up across from Ike Taylor on most every snap, Thomas burned the Pro Bowl-caliber cornerback relentlessly in the first half, including for gains of 51 and 58 yards. In overtime, Thomas ran a slant from the left side of the offensive formation over the middle, caught Tim Tebow's pass in stride, stiff-armed Taylor, and took it to the house from 80 yards out. With Eric Decker (knee) appearing unlikely to play in the Divisional Round, Thomas will remain Tebow's No. 1 wideout at New England.
