Coach Bruce Arians said Wednesday that Palmer is "about a month ahead of schedule" in his recovery from a torn ACL in his left knee, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Palmer suffered the injury on Nov. 9, bringing his second season with the Cardinals to a close. He underwent surgery within a week and a half, and positive reports regarding his recovery effort started to emerge once the calendar flipped to 2015. Although he's expected to achieve full health by the time OTAs roll around, Arians relayed that he's apt to keep Palmer on the sideline during the Cardinals' offseason program. Thus, Palmer likely won't participate in any team drills until training camp commences.

Coach Bruce Arians said Tuesday that Palmer (knee) is "so far" ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn ACL, NFL.com's Kevin Patra reports.
Arians expressed optimism that Palmer would be ready to go for the Cardinals' mandatory minicamp, but given the severity of the injury, it's much more likely the team limits their franchise quarterback's activity until training camp. Even so, it's encouraging to see that Palmer appears on his way to being ready for the start of the 2015 season, after he was on his way to one of the best years of his career before succumbing to the injury.
Sun Jan 4 201515:52Carson Palmer: (Knee) In Line For Return During OTAs
Palmer (knee) is in line for a "full" return during OTAs in May and June, Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic reports.
The Cardinals held their final media session of the season Sunday, when Palmer said, "I'm just continuing to grind it out. It's baby steps from here but I actually get to start up-tempo walking-slash-jogging on Monday, so I'm excited about that." The development is one of the first in his quest for a full recovery from the torn ACL suffered in Week 10, but his optimism could eventually be quelled by the reality of such an injury and his age, 35. In the meantime, Drew Stanton, the Cardinals' backup quarterback, is poised to participate in early offseason work and could enter training camp 2015 as the starter, if Palmer experiences any bumps in the road.
Tue Nov 18 201415:50Palmer underwent surgery Tuesday to repair torn ACL
Palmer underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn ACL.
Palmer and the Cardinals remain optimistic about his long-term prospects, as it appears that that the damage has been confined to just the ACL, provided doctors find no surprises during surgery. The veteran quarterback expects to continue working out the rest of his body along the rehab process, and soon hopes to resume traveling with the team. In a perfect world, Palmer would be ready to return to team OTAs, but considering that those are less than seven months away, that may be an idealistic outlook.
Mon Nov 10 201414:42Carson Palmer: ACL Tear Confirmed
The Cardinals have confirmed that Palmer suffered a torn ACL on Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Palmer is thus slated to be placed on season-ending injured reserve, with Drew Stanton, who took over for Palmer after he was injured on Sunday, on track to start at QB for the Cardinals going forward. In terms of Palmer's long-term prospects, Darren Urban of azcardinals.com notes that the damage in Palmer's knee was confined to the ACL, so while the veteran QB clearly has a long recovery ahead of him, he'll presumably have a chance to re-enter the team's starting equation in advance of the 2015 season.
Sun Nov 9 201419:54Carson Palmer: ACL Tear Feared
Palmer is feared to have torn his ACL in Sunday's game against the Rams, according to both NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Fox Sports 910's Mike Jurecki.
Palmer is slated to undergo tests to confirm the nature of his injury, but for now, coach Bruce Arians indicated that the Cardinals won't know the QB's status going forward until he undergoes an MRI, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports. In any case, Drew Stanton, who took over for Palmer on Sunday, appears to be in line for another stint as the Cardinals' starting signal-caller.
Sun Nov 9 201418:52Carson Palmer: Injures Knee
Palmer was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Rams after suffering a left knee injury.
The Cardinals indicated that Palmer is questionable to return to the contest, but such an outcome seems unlikely. With Palmer hobbled, Drew Stanton is in at QB for the Cardinals.

Palmer signed a three-year contract extension with Arizona on Friday.
The terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but it keeps Palmer locked up through the 2017 season. He has 35 touchdowns compared to 24 interceptions in 21 career games for coach Bruce Arians, and his effectiveness of late indicates he's over the shoulder nerve issue that caused him to miss time earlier this year.

Palmer completed 22 of 34 passes for 249 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception Sunday against the Cowboys.
Palmer connected with eight different receivers, throwing touchdown passes to Andre Ellington, John Carlson and Jaron Brown. He has now thrown for multiple touchdowns in every game he's played in this season, and he'll look to keep the streak going in Week 11 against the Rams.

Palmer completed 20-of-42 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's exciting 24-20 win over Philadelphia.
Palmer wasn't having a very efficient or effective game, until he tossed a 75-yard touchdown to rookie John Brown with 1:21 remaining in the game, giving the Cardinals the lead for good. On a very positive note, Palmer took a bunch of shots down the field, showing that his previously ailing shoulder is in fine condition. He'll face the Cowboys next week, in what should be a huge NFC showdown.

Palmer completed 22-of-31 passes for 253 yards with two touchdowns and one interception during Sunday's win at Oakland.
The second-quarter pick was the Cardinals' first of the season, ending a streak of 195 passes without an interception to start the 2014 campaign. Meanwhile, Palmer is setting a precedent in a Cardinal uniform, as he's recorded multiple touchdowns in all three appearances this year, and 11 of his past 15 overall. He especially handled five-plus pass rushers effectively Sunday, completing 8-of-9 passes for 79 yards and both scores on the day. With a favorable matchup in store next Sunday -- the Eagles have yielded two-plus touchdown strikes on five occasions this season -- Palmer is again a sneaky fantasy play.
Sun Oct 19 201415:01Carson Palmer: (Shoulder) Active Sunday
Palmer (shoulder) is listed as active Sunday in Oakland, Mark Dalton of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Palmer logged his first full practice Friday since Week 1, when he sustained the nerve issue that has plagued his second campaign with the Cardinals. With a friendly matchup on tap -- the Raiders have allowed 275 passing yards per game and six total touchdown passes over the past three outings -- he'll look to resume his union with the wideout trio of Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd (groin), and John Brown (hamstring).
Fri Oct 17 201419:53Palmer (shoulder) probable for Sunday's game against Oakland
Palmer (shoulder) is probable for Sunday's game against Oakland.
Palmer was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he logged a full showing Friday. While he might not be an ideal fantasy start in most formats, Palmer's return to the field is very reassuring for the fantasy values of all of Michael Floyd, Larry Fitzgerald and John Brown.
Thu Oct 16 201418:36Palmer (shoulder) again limited in practice Thursday
Palmer (shoulder) was again limited in practice Thursday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
You'll want to monitor Palmer up until game time Sunday if you are planning to start him this week against the Raiders, but the Cardinals have not given any indication that they think he might miss the game. Oakland ranks 11th against the pass, but don't let the ranking fool you - the Raiders have surrendered 591 yards and five touchdowns through the air over their last two games.
Wed Oct 15 201421:14Carson Palmer: (Shoulder) Limited Wednesday
Palmer (shoulder) practiced in a limited, rather than full, capacity Wednesday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Coach Bruce Arians said prior to practice that Palmer would be a "full go" this week, but the statement didn't translate to his activity level. It's unclear how much work Palmer was able to fit in, but at the very least, he must have completed the individual portions. Consequently, his status should be monitored closely as the week draws to a close.
Wed Oct 15 201416:09Carson Palmer: (Shoulder) Practicing In Full All Week
Palmer (shoulder) will practice in full all week, Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.
Before Wednesday's practice, coach Bruce Arians made the announcement, during which he told Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site that Palmer's throwing arm isn't 100 percent but is "more than serviceable." There's still the fear of a setback, considering the ups and downs of his recovery this season, but Palmer is clearly in line to quarterback Sunday's game in his return to Oakland.
Mon Oct 13 201420:06Carson Palmer: (Shoulder) Hopes To Practice All Week
According to coach Bruce Arians, Palmer (shoulder) "feels great" following Sunday's game and hopes to be without limits in practice this week, the Cardinals' official site reports. Furthermore, Palmer told Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix that he's "not out of the clear. I need to continue to do treatment for I don't know how long...been very unpredictable."
Indeed, Palmer's shoulder has oscillated between progress and regression, the latter of which occurred during the Cardinals' Week 4 bye and forced a third consecutive DNP at Denver last weekend. During Friday's practice, though, he received approximately a quarter of the first-team reps, before returning to Denver for another round of muscle-activation therapy with Peyton Manning's specialist, the Arizona Republic reports. The will-he-or-won't-he play continued until quite close to Sunday's 4:25 PM ET kickoff, as Palmer, Drew Stanton (concussion), and Logan Thomas were all active and working through pregame warmups. After getting the call, Palmer proceeded to complete 28-of-44 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns, while directing five scoring drives and proving his overall worth to the Cardinals. Once Wednesday arrives, owners will hopefully be able to breath a sigh of relief, with an unhindered Palmer in practice.

Palmer (shoulder) completed 28-of-44 passes for 250 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-20 win over Washington.
Palmer didn't take too many shots down the field, but he was smooth in general, getting rid of the ball quickly. He hooked up with Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd on touchdowns, as both players scored for the first time this season. Assuming Palmer didn't suffer some sort of setback, he should be good to go next week against a beatable Raiders secondary.
Sun Oct 12 201416:23Carson Palmer: (Shoulder) Starting Sunday
Palmer (shoulder) was named the starting quarterback for Sunday's game versus Washington, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
A week of suspense has ended with Palmer earning the nod, even after failing to practice fully, or coach Bruce Arians' one requirement to start. Alas, he'll face a Washington defense that has surrendered 11 touchdowns through the air this season, good for fourth-most in the league.
Sun Oct 12 201416:00Carson Palmer: (Shoulder) Poised To Start Sunday
Palmer appears poised to start Sunday against Washington after taking snaps with starting center Lyle Sendlein during warmups, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports.
As he take more snaps, Palmer increased the velocity on his throws, even putting extra juice on 15-yard outs. Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site seconded Somers' views, as Palmer worked with the first-team offense. Barring a late development, Palmer is seemingly making his first appearance since Week 1, when he initially suffered the nerve issue in his throwing shoulder that held him out more than a month.
