(AP) — Aaron Judge got a $62,000 raise from the New York Yankees up to $684,300 in the right fielder's last season before becoming eligible for salary arbitration.Catcher Gary Sanchez was given a $49,400 hike to $669,800 as the team reached agreements with its young players whose salaries are under club control. NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Yankees signed first baseman/outfielder Adam Lind to a minor league deal on Wednesday.Lind will report to the team's complex in Tampa, Florida, for extended spring training.Lind also signed a minor league deal with New York on March 2 and was released 12 days later. He hit .200 (3 for 15) in five spring games with the Yankees.The 34-year-old Lind batted .303 with 14 homers and 59 RBIs in 116 games with Washington last season. He is a .272 hitter with 200 homers and 723 RBIs in 12 years in the majors.It looked as if Greg Bird was set to take over at first for New York during spring training, but he had right ankle surgery on March 27. Tyler Austin and Neil Walker have been handling the load at first.The Yankees were off Wednesday, but top prospect Gleyber Torres returned to the field for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. (AP) — Yankees minor league infielder Thairo Estrada is increasing his workout program after being shot in the right thigh area during a robbery attempt last month but may not be ready for the start of the season.The 22-year old Estrada was entering a restaurant with his wife in his hometown of Bejuma, Venezuela, when the incident took place."There's no chance we're going to push it too much with him," New York manager Aaron Boone said Saturday. "But I'm still hopeful that this isn't something that is going to cost him the bulk of the season by any means. Just see where we are tomorrow, see where we are next week and hopefully he'll continue to make progress."Boone said Estrada has advanced to working out on an elliptical machine."They're adding some things," Boone said. "I get the feeling just in talking with him that the last couple days he feels like a little more progress has been made. So, that's encouraging. But I think with the wound and everything, they're being really conservative before he gets going."The bullet remains lodged in soft tissue There currently are no plans to remove it.Estrada hit .301 with six homers and 48 RBIs in 122 games last season with Double-A Trenton.
