Fri Sep 16 201123:22Slowey knocked around by Tribe
Kevin Slowey made it through only four innings Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits in a loss to the Indians.
He struck out a pair. It's Slowey's second straight poor start after he pitched well his previous two times out. He's now lost six straight outings while watching his ERA go up to 6.51 and WHIP to 1.43. The right-hander does have a favorable matchup against the Mariners next week.

Fri Sep 9 201122:47Slowey roughed up by Tigers
Handed a 4-0 first-inning lead on Friday, Kevin Slowey gave it up in short order, allowing six runs on seven hits in four innings of a Twins loss to the Tigers.
The bad outing comes after Slowey allowed just two runs in seven innings in each of his past two starts. Now the owner of a 6.07 ERA and 1.40 WHIP, he'll get the Indians at home his next time out.

Sun Sep 4 201119:05Slowey takes loss in start
Kevin Slowey took a loss in Los Angeles Sunday despite yielding just two earned runs over seven innings.
The Twins have scored a total of two runs in Slowey's four starts this season. He'll stick in the rotation with Nick Blackburn and Francisco Lirano sidelined, but isn't an appealing fantasy option. The Twins are mailing it in and Slowey has just 21 strikeouts in 39 innings this season.

Mon Aug 29 201123:11Kevin Slowey pitches well in loss
Kevin Slowey was a hard-luck loser Monday, limiting the White Sox to two runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings.
It was easily Slowey's best start since being promoted earlier this month, but unfortunately for him, Mark Buehrle was even better. The right-hander holds a 6.75 ERA in three August starts even after tonight's effort and can't be trusted this weekend against the Angels.

Wed Aug 24 201123:13Slowey knocked around by Orioles
Kevin Slowey allowed five runs on seven hits in just 4 2/3 innings of work on Wednesday, falling to 0-2 in Minnesota's 6-1 loss to the Orioles.
He struck out three and walked one. Battered in both of his outings since joining the Twins rotation on August 19, Slowey doesn't belong anywhere near your AL-only league lineup. His next start should come on Monday against the White Sox in Chicago.

Fri Aug 19 201123:09Slowey battered by Yanks
Kevin Slowey was knocked around by the Yankees Friday, yielding six runs on nine hits and a walk over 5 2/3 innings.
He struck out four while allowing a pair of home runs. It's officially Slowey's first start since coming back from Triple-A, as his last outing was ultimately rained out. Though the results obviously weren't pretty, we should probably have expected it given the matchup. He'll try to rebound next week against the Orioles.

Tue Aug 9 201116:37Twins to recall RHP Slowey from minors
The Twins plan to recall Kevin Slowey from Triple-A Rochester to start Sunday against the Indians.
He'll take the place of the injured Scott Baker in the starting rotation. Slowey was seemingly in Ron Gardenhire's doghouse for a while, but has earned his way back by allowing three runs or less in each of his last three starts at Triple-A. The 27-year-old right-hander hasn't made a start in the majors this season.

Sun Aug 7 201109:00Kevin Slowey could be promoted soon
The Twins could add Kevin Slowey to their rotation soon.
The Twins' starting five -- particularly Nick Blackburn -- has struggled of late, while Slowey has allowed just two runs over his last 13 innings for Triple-A Rochester. Slowey and Blackburn are on the same schedule, so it's possible that it could be the former, not the latter, that takes the mound on Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Sat Jul 30 201115:49Report: Rockies still interested in Slowey
CBS Sports' Scott Miller reports that the Rockies remain interested in the Twins' Kevin Slowey but are "unmotivated to pay much."
It shouldn't take a whole lot, even though Slowey still has the potential to be a rock-solid back-end starter if he can ever stay healthy. The Pirates also reportedly had some interest in the righty previously, but with their rotation continuing to perform, they might have cooled on him.

Wed Jul 20 201120:34Multiple teams watch Slowey
LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the Red Sox, Dodgers, Cardinals and Blue Jays were scouting Kevin Slowey's (abdominal strain) start for Triple-A Rochester Wednesday.
They probably walked away unimpressed, as Slowey allowed five runs on eight hits -- including two home runs -- and a walk over six innings. It's worth noting, though, that he entered the night with a 3.75 ERA and 17/3 K/BB ratio over 24 rehab innings. Slowey has previously been linked to the Pirates and Rockies.

Fri Jul 15 201118:38Pirates, Rockies interested in Kevin Slowey
Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Pirates and Rockies are among the teams interested in Kevin Slowey.
According to Morosi, the Twins are willing to trade him to a club that would use him as a starter as long as they get fair value in return. The 27-year-old right-hander is earning $2.7 million this season and remains under team control through 2013. He is currently rehabbing an abdominal strain with Triple-A Rochester.

Sun Jul 10 201109:34Kevin Slowey to make two more rehab starts
Kevin Slowey (abdominal strain) will make two more rehab starts for Triple-A Rochester.
We originally heard Sunday would be his last one, but he'll have an additional outing. It's really just a technicality, as Slowey is expected to be optioned to Rochester and remain in their rotation once he's officially off his rehab. He remains a prime candidate to be traded later this month.

Wed Jul 6 201112:18Slowey (abdominal) set for rehab start Sunday
Kevin Slowey (abdominal strain) will make his next minor league rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Rochester.
He's scheduled to throw around 70-75 pitches. Slowey has a 4.30 ERA and 11/1 K/BB ratio over five rehab appearances between High-A Fort Myers and Triple-A Rochester. He should be ready to return shortly after the All-Star break, though the Twins' plans for him aren't immediately clear. He's an obvious trade candidate in the days ahead.

Wed Jul 6 201110:52Slowey struggles in rehab start
Kevin Slowey (abdominal strain) allowed two runs over 2 2/3 innings Tuesday as he continued his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester.
It was his first start with the Twins' Triple-A affiliate. Slowey allowed four hits while striking out two, walking none and hitting two batters. He'll likely need a couple more outings before returning from the disabled list, though with his stated preference to be a starting pitcher, he could find himself in another organization before long.

Tue Jul 5 201120:26Kevin Slowey expects to be traded
Kevin Slowey told Jim Mandelaro of the Democrat and Chronicle that he expects to be pitching for another team soon.
Slowey has made no secret the fact that he wants to start, and the Twins might accommodate him by sending him to another organization. We still think he's a better option for the rotation than Brian Duensing, but the Twins appear committed to Duensing as a starter. Slowey is currently on the DL working his way back from an abdominal strain.

Fri Jul 1 201108:32Kevin Slowey to move up to Triple-A
Kevin Slowey (abdominal strain) gave up two runs over 3 1/3 innings in a rehab appearance for High-A Fort Myers Thursday.
Despite the less than ideal showing, Slowey is feeling healthy and will move up to Triple-A Rochester to start Sunday. He could be ready for activation after that, or the Twins could choose to leave him at Triple-A as insurance for the rotation.

Mon Jun 27 201118:18Slowey (abdominal) set for next rehab game
Kevin Slowey (abdominal strain) will throw about 50 pitches Wednesday in his second minor league rehab appearance with High-A Fort Myers.
Slowey allowed two runs over two innings in his first rehab appearance Saturday while striking out four and walking none. The Twins soured on him as a reliever before the injury, so they'll likely continue to stretch him out in the minors.

Kevin Slowey (abdominal strain) will throw 3-4 innings at an undetermined minor league affiliate Wednesday.
