Sun Oct 17 2010 | 07:29 | Bonner (thumb) returns to action Saturday |
Matt Bonner returned to action on Saturday after spraining his left thumb one week prior. |
He jumped back into action with a 15-point, seven-rebound line performance that included three treys, but keep in mind it was against the European team Caja Laboral, whom the Spurs beat 108-85. Bonner should not be drafted in most leagues, but will be worth a look when he gets hot from outside. |

Thu Aug 12 2010 | 18:17 | Matt Bonner unlikely to play for Canada |
Matt Bonner isn't likely to play for Canada at the world basketball championships, since the Canadian government doesn't seem inclined to expedite his citizenship application. |
Bonner became a permanent resident after marrying a Canadian in 2009, but there is a three-year residency requirement for citizenship. Bonner won over Canadian fans while playing for the Raptors from 2004-06, but that isn't likely to get his application over the hump. |

Matt Bonner started for the Spurs on Monday, finishing an easy victory with 13 points, three 3-pointers, two rebounds, and three steals in just 16 minutes. |
Bonner started because veteran Antonio McDyess was sidelined with routine bumps and bruises. His starting gig is short-lived and his value is normally limited to 3-pointers in deep leagues. |
