Thu Mar 24 202219:08Kevin Love To Start On Thursday
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love will move into the starting five for Thursday's game against the Toronto Raptors. Love will replace Lamar Stevens in the starting lineup for Thursday's game. Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro, Lauri Markkanen, and Evan Mobley will join Love in the starting lineup. Love will get a slight boost while running while the starting unit. Although, Love was already worth rostering in most formats, but starting will give him a boost. Stevens doesn't bring much to the table, so he can be left on the waiver wire in basically all formats.

Sat Jan 1 202207:59Kevin Love Turns Back The Clock On New Year's Eve
Cleveland Cavaliers forward/center Kevin Love looked 10 years younger in Friday's clash with Atlanta, scoring a team-high 35 points on 10-for-18 shooting in a 121-118 loss. He nailed half of his 14 triples and finished 8-for-10 at the line with 11 rebounds, four assists and only one turnover in 30 minutes off the bench. Love was pushed aside to the bench at the start of the season, but it's been hard to ignore him lately, with the veteran going for at least 22 points in four consecutive games. He's also picked up double-doubles in back-to-back outings. Taking the streak to three games looks extremely difficult, though, as Cleveland takes on Indiana on Sunday, a very good rebounding team.

Wed Dec 29 202108:10Kevin Love Has Another Strong Showing On Tuesday
Cleveland Cavaliers forward/center Kevin Love was back on the bench for Tuesday's contest against New Orleans, but he still managed to put in a good shift with 24 points in 32 minutes. He shot 7-for-14 from the field, with all of his makes coming from three-point land, and added four rebounds to his tally with three assists and one steal. The 32 minutes marks Love's new season-high and he's really earned more playing time with his recent performances. The veteran started a busy week that includes three more games. He's scored 20-plus points in back-to-back games ahead of a matchup with Washington, which also looks like a favorable spot for Love.

Mon Dec 27 202111:25Kevin Love Has A Productive Start Against Toronto
Cleveland Cavaliers forward/center Kevin Love earned his first start of the season on Sunday against Toronto and stood out with 22 points and nine rebounds in just 18 minutes. He shot 7-for-12 from the field and 6-for-9 from downtown, adding two assists and one steal. This was a complete blowout with Cleveland winning 144-99 and almost everyone got a decent runout. Love averages just 20 minutes a night, but he's still notched 12.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game with a couple of assists. The veteran will try to stay busy next against the Pelicans, who are ranked 25th in defensive efficiency and whose best rebounder Jonas Valanciunas (illness) has been out of action lately.

Wed Dec 22 202114:50Kevin Love Uncertain Against Celtics
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love (foot) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics. His absence would be a crushing blow to the Cavs who are already without Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. Love has scored double digits in seven straight games. He is a solid streaming option if he's able to play, but that doesn't seem likely on Wednesday. Instead, Lauri Markkanen and Dean Wade would be asked to fill in for Love. Markkanen is the better option between the two and could be a decent streaming option.

Tue Dec 14 202107:47Kevin Love Erupts For 23 Second-Half Points
Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love turned back the clock against Miami on Monday, shooting 6-for-10 from the field and 5-for-8 from deep with an 8-for-8 record at the line to finish with a team-high 23 points. He scored all of his points in the second half and capped things off with nine rebounds, one assist and two turnovers. Love now has three 20-point efforts for the season and 23 points mark his new season-high. He's lost a lot of fantasy appeal in recent seasons, but Love is still capable of helping out managers in scoring and rebounding. Wednesday's meeting with Houston puts the veteran forward in another good spot to perform.

Wed Nov 17 202118:44Kevin Love Will Return For Wednesday’s Contest
Cleveland Cavaliers power forward/center Kevin Love has been cleared to suit up for Wednesday's game against the Nets. Despite widespread injury concerns among the team's frontcourt, Love will come off the bench in his first game back and will face a minutes restriction. With Evan Mobley (elbow) and Jarrett Allen (illness) unavailable, Ed Davis will slot in as the starting five, boosting his DFS appeal, even with Love in the mix. The five-time All-Star has scuffled during his seven games this season, averaging 9.9 points per game while shooting 35.5 percent overall. His track record makes him an exciting season-long commodity, but while he has a playing time cap, his DFS viability remains strained.

Sun Nov 14 202119:43Kevin Love Will Sit Against Boston On Monday
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Lovewill remain out on Monday against Boston. Love is cleared to return after missing time while adhering to the league's health and safety protocols surrounding COVID-19, but it appears as if the veteran will need some more time to get back into shape. Lauri Markkanen has also been out for the same reason, so Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen have continued holding things down underneath the basket. Mobley and Allen should continue to see an uptick in production until Love and Markkanen can make their way back, which could be on Wednesday against Brooklyn, while Cedi Osman and Dead Wade may see some more minutes.

Tue Oct 26 202108:57Kevin Love Scores Team-High 22 Points
Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love played a big part in Monday's road victory over Denver, popping up with a team-high 22 points in 21 minutes off the bench. He nailed only one of his four three-pointers but shot a good 8-for-13 overall and was perfect at the line with five attempts. Love also had six rebounds in the game with one turnover. The five-time All-Star is now only a bench contributor for Cleveland, and he struggled in the role in the first couple of games, but Love has managed to up his scoring production in back-to-back games, showing that he can still be a useful piece for the team. However, the next matchup doesn't look promising for him, as the Cavs take on the Clippers, who are allowing the fifth-fewest bench points in the league.

Mon Sep 27 202114:14Kevin Love Never Discussed Buyout
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love mentioned on Monday that he never discussed a buyout with the organization. He denies the reports in August and mentioned he wants to be a positive force for this young team. Evan Mobley and Lauri Markkanen are expected to be the future big men in Cleveland, so Love's fantasy value is going to plummet. There really isn't going to be a significant role for Love on this roster. He'll mainly be veteran depth and most of his minutes will come when someone gets injured. His best chance of having success would be to leave Cleveland, but apparently he doesn't want to do that.

Wed Sep 8 202100:00Kevin Love Could See Minimal Playing Time
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love continues to see his stock plummet entering the 2021-22 campaign. After the veteran recently indicated he wasn't interested in receiving a buyout, current rumblings now suggest that he may be relegated to around six minutes per game this season. That projection seems plausible, primarily with the team focused on the development of Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Lauri Markkanen. Nonetheless, a lot of things can still transpire before the start of the new year, so fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation moving ahead. One thing is for sure, Love's fantasy ceiling will remain lower than ever as long as he stays with his current club.

Sun Aug 29 202114:01Kevin Love Not Interested In A Buyout
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love isn't interested in a buyout from his current employer. The veteran is owed $60 million over the next two seasons, and since he isn't expected to see a prominent role during the 2021-22 campaign, a mutual agreement to part ways was seen as the only sensible approach. Love dealt with a nagging calf injury last season and was relegated to only 25 games as a result. If he remains in Cleveland, his fantasy outlook will be lower than it's ever been. However, if he can land on a new team, it will likely increase.

Thu Aug 12 202121:50Kevin Love Likely To See A Reduced Role
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love (calf) is expected to see less playing time this season. The 32-year-old, who is owed $60 million over the next few years, continues to deal with a nagging calf issue that plagued him for most of the 2020-21 campaign. Love is also reportedly out of shape, as evident by his poor showing during Team USA training camp. Nonetheless, with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen expected to see plenty of minutes underneath the rim moving ahead, the veteran's fantasy stock was already lower than ever. However, with teams also unwilling to listen to trade offers, it appears as if it will continue to plummet even further.

Fri Jun 11 202115:24Analysis: In the NBA, a breakthrough win awaits for a GM
Phoenix general manager James Jones was the guy who would routinely hold court at his locker a half-hour before games and engage in all sorts of conversations in his playing days. Books he was reading, what the financial markets were doing, current events, political matters, the nuances of the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement. It was all fair game. He was smart. He knew it, too. These days, the rest of the NBA — if they didn’t know previously — has figured that out as well. The eight general managers left in the NBA playoffs all had success stories to tell long before their postseason runs of 2021 started. For the team that winds up winning the NBA title, it’ll be a breakthrough since none of the remaining franchises have won a championship since 1983. And for the winning GM, it’ll be another breakthrough -- since none of them have won rings in their current capacities either. “I took this job saying this would be a challenge for me to help young guys who are here in Phoenix, trying... Fri May 28 202116:52Cavs still view Kevin Love as valuable piece in slow rebuild
CLEVELAND (AP) — As the Cavaliers' slow, stuttering rebuild continues around a “core four” of young players, the team still views Kevin Love as an important piece. One worth keeping around. At least, for now. On Friday, general manager Koby Altman spoke to the media for the first time since the Cavs completed a injury-marred season by going 22-50 and failing to compete for a playoff spot during a year in which Love went from being a major contributor to a distraction. The five-time All-Star played in just 25 games because of a severe calf injury. All that will be remembered from his forgettable season is an on-court lapse against Toronto when he lost his composure and smacked the ball away in frustration only to have the Raptors grab it and score. It's a regrettable moment that has stained an otherwise clean resume. Love's mini-tantrum was also a microcosm of a frustrating season for the Cavs, who used 30 different starting lineups and lost 300 total games to injuries. There was also plenty... [More]
Mon May 17 202115:06Cavs end difficult season outside playoffs, decisions loom
CLEVELAND (AP) — The night before their season finale, the Cavaliers ditched their masks and got together for a team dinner on a rooftop in Brooklyn — a symbolic high point. The view was awesome, the ambience exquisite. Finally, something a little more familiar. Barely anything else was normal over the previous five months. “Not making any excuses,” said Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff, “it was one of the most difficult seasons that I’ve been a part of — for numerous reasons.” There were the mandated COVID-19 protocols. There were numerous injuries (star forward Kevin Love played just 25 games), drama (Kevin Porter Jr. was traded to Houston after a locker-room tantrum) and head-scratching decisions (center Andre Drummond went from starter to outcast). And, of course, there was losing, so much losing. One of the league's youngest teams, the Cavs dropped 16 of their last 18 games to finish 22-50 — tied for the fourth-worst record in the NBA to guarantee Cleveland another spot in the draft lottery... Wed Apr 28 202122:30Cavaliers' Love sorry for on-court tantrum: 'That wasn't me'
CLEVELAND (AP) — Kevin Love spoke from his heart. Over 13 minutes, he apologized, lectured and asked for forgiveness and understanding. He regrets his fit of frustration but said it shouldn't define him. “That wasn’t me,” Love said. “I apologize for that moment. It was an ugly one. It was one that was not ill-intentioned.” The five-time All-Star apologized Wednesday for his on-court tantrum two days earlier in a game against Toronto, saying his behavior was out of line and out of character — but that it had nothing to do with any frustration toward his teammates or coaches. Love did not take any questions from reporters after speaking passionately about the incident, using the Zoom call as what he called a “therapy session” to express his feelings about dealing with an injury this season, and his leadership role in Cleveland and continued struggle with mental health. “I (messed) up,” Love said, using an expletive to open his remarks. “Everyone knows that. My intent wasn’t to disrespect... [More]
