Sun Apr 27 201410:06Cheerleader Hibbert dines with Larry Bird
Roy Hibbert, who scored just six points on Saturday, had dinner with Pacers' brain trust Larry Bird, Donnie Walsh and Kevin Pritchard on Friday night in Atlanta.
"Larry and I talked (earlier) and he asked if (I) wanted to go to dinner on (him). He had plans and he invited me with the three amigos," he said. "One thing Larry told me was to just work on my balance when I'm out there on the offensive end. I tried to do that tonight whenever I got the ball." Hibbert has a terrible matchup with the Hawks and he's not likely to see the court in the fourth quarter of any of the remaining games. However, his attitude was great on Saturday and he was the biggest cheerleader off the bench with the game on the line. And if he's not going to be productive on the court in Round 1, playing the role of cheerleader is a much better look than pouting at the end of the bench.

Sat Apr 26 201417:03Roy Hibbert struggles again Saturday vs. ATL
Roy Hibbert started Saturday's game but was once again a non-factor, scoring six points with three rebounds and two blocks as the Pacers escaped Game 4 with a three-point victory.
Hibbert didn't play down the stretch and his 25 minutes of action were barely more than backups Luis Scola (21 minutes) and Ian Mahinmi (15 minutes). The Pacers continue to start Hibbert in an attempt to prop up his confidence and keep him mentally engaged, but he's something of a liability as long as he's playing opposite Pero Antic in the first round.

Sat Apr 26 201412:35Roy Hibbert will start Game 4 against Hawks
Despite his below average play as of late, coach Frank Vogel confirmed that Roy Hibbert will start at center in Game 4 against the Hawks.
Hibbert has been a mess as of late, averaging just six points and five rebounds per game in the playoffs. The Pacers are down 2-1 in the series so they'll need Hibbert to step up if they hope to move on to the next round.

Fri Apr 25 201402:35Vogel won't say for sure that Hibbert starts
Coach Frank Vogel said "we'll see" during Thursday's post-game press conference when asked about starting Roy Hibbert for Game 4 on Saturday.
He added he "probably" would start Hibbert, but the Pacers seriously have to consider making a change. The matchup against the Hawks and how they're being spread out has basically rendered Hibbert obsolete. Plus, it doesn't help he's shot a pathetic 18 percent in the paint over his last nine games, which doesn't even make sense. He has completely lost his confidence and there is a legitimate chance he gets bumped to the second unit.

Thu Apr 24 201421:51Roy Hibbert gets benched in loss to Hawks
Roy Hibbert was on the bench for the final 4:37 of Thursday's Game 4 loss to the Hawks, finishing with four points, two rebounds, one assist and two turnovers in 19 minutes.
Yikes. He was one of the biggest disappointments in the second half of the year and it's carried into the postseason. Hibbert has lost the ability to rebound, he can't score outside of three feet from the basket and has been a major liability on the low block while the Pacers are in a halfcourt set. On top of that, he doesn't have a have a block in any game during this series. It's hard to believe he was an All-Star and his minutes may actually go down on Saturday for Game 4.

Tue Apr 22 201421:39Roy Hibbert hits 1-of-7 shots in Game 2
Roy Hibbert hit just 1-of-7 shots for six points, four rebounds and zero blocks in Tuesday's Game 2 win over the Hawks.
The Pacers might be resigned to Hibbert sitting on the bench for most of this series, as Ian Mahinmi played 20 minutes, but was even more ineffective than Hibbert. The series is tied 1-1 and Game 3 is Thursday in Atlanta, but we wouldn't recommend using Hibbert in daily leagues until this series is over - assuming the Pacers end up winning.

Tue Apr 22 201417:20Pacers keep same starters for Game 2 vs. ATL
The Pacers will not change their starting lineup for Game 2 vs. the Hawks on Tuesday.
Head coach Frank Vogel said prior to the series that he'll tweak his rotations on a "game-by-game" basis, but the Pacers' collapse in Game 1 wasn't enough to swap out Roy Hibbert for a more mobile big man like Ian Mahinmi. Hibbert's ability (or inability) to defend Pero Antic on the perimeter will be a key to the series and it prompted him to say that he's the "weak link on defense," so all eyes will be on that matchup for Game 2.

Sun Apr 20 201410:21Roy Hibbert: 'I'm the weak link on defense'
A dejected Roy Hibbert stated, "I'm the weak link on defense," following Sunday's game one loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
Hibbert has been unrecognizable for the past few months, and the last two weeks have been particularly awful. Since being benched versus Atlanta on April 6, Hibbert has shot 7-of-37 (18.9percent) from the field totaling 17 points through five games. To make matters worse Hibbert is being forced out towards the perimeter as he's tasked with guarding Atlanta's Pero Antic, and that has clearly made him uncomfortable. Hibbert is in jeopardy of being benched in favor of Luis Scola or Ian Mahinmi, and that's not exactly what you'd want from a guy who pulled in $14.2 million this season.

Sat Apr 19 201421:55Roy Hibbert doesn't block a shot vs. Hawks
Roy Hibbert hit 4-of-9 shots for eight points, eight rebounds and zero blocks in Saturday's 101-93 Game 1 loss to the Hawks.
Hibbert has a terrible match up with Pero Antic (8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 3-pointers) and could find himself benched for much of this series, because Antic plays mainly on the perimeter. Hibbert has been struggling for some time and this series should offer more of the same. And if the Pacers don't figure things out quickly, they're going to make an early exit and heads will likely roll in Indy. Not only did Hibbert fail to block a shot, but he had his shot blocked by Kyle Korver. Yes, Kyle Korver.

Fri Apr 18 201416:52Vogel still not sure on his rotation
Coach Frank Vogel said he'll adjust his rotations on a game-by-game basis during the playoffs.
"It'll vary night by night and we'll see how the flow of the game is going," Vogel said. The first player that comes to mind here is Roy Hibbert. He's been yanked from games on several occasions and has quickly become a huge liability on offense. In fact, he had the second-worst effective field goal percentage among qualifiers this season and looked as slow as his teammate Andrew Bynum.

Wed Apr 16 201421:25Roy Hibbert starts, more of the same in win
Roy Hibbert started on a night when most other playoff regulars were sitting throughout the league, but looked about the same as he has since the All-Star break, hitting 1-of-7 shots for four points, seven rebounds and a block.
If the goal was to improve Hibbert's confidence, or let him torch a bunch of scrubs, it didn't work. He played just 17 minutes, but it's hard to imagine a 1-of-7 shooting night doing anything for his psyche. And he's going to have to deal with Pero Antic in Round 1 of the playoffs, who will do his best to linger outside and keep Hibbert out of the paint. This may not end well. Rasual Butler and Chris Copeland led the Pacers with 19 points a piece, but you probably won't hear there name in these parts again this year.

Tue Apr 15 201414:21Roy Hibbert will play first half on Wednesday
Roy Hibbert will play vs. the Magic on Wednesday but he may sit out the second half.
The Pacers may simply to trying to get Hibbert some traction before the playoffs. He's been dreadful over the past five games with a True Shooting percentage of just 29.2 percent, and a -12.6 net rating per 100 possessions.

Sun Apr 13 201416:05Roy Hibbert goes scoreless in win over OKC
Roy Hibbert missed all nine attempts from the field against the Thunder on Sunday with six boards, one steal and one block in 27 minutes.
He has been an absolute mess on both ends of the floor lately. In his previous four games, Hibbert put up a rebounding rate of 3.4 percent, which is hard to even comprehend for a guy at 7'2". He's also made just 21 of his last 81 shots and his offensive game is fried. Coach Frank Vogel kept his All-Star on the bench for most of the home stretch and he's clearly aware Hibbert is not the same player. He has some soul searching to do to get his mojo back for the playoffs.

Sun Apr 13 201410:53Roy Hibbert seriously struggling for Indiana
Roy Hibbert has looked downright awful over the past 10 games, averaging 9.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and just 1.3 blocks during that stretch.
If the Pacers want to compete for a championship they will need to get much more out of their franchise center. Hibbert started the year off with a bang, but his post all-star break numbers have dropped off substantially. With just two more games left on the schedule for Indy, it wouldn't be the worst idea to drop the disappointing bigman.

Sat Apr 12 201400:22Hibbert terrible in big loss against champs
Roy Hibbert hit yet another low in Friday's loss to the Heat, scoring just five points on 2-of-7 shooting with one rebound and two blocks in 34 minutes.
Hibbert looks slow and out of shape. How anybody would talk about him as a Defensive Player of the Year candidate is beyond us when the real question in Indy is whether or not he should cede big-time minutes to mediocre Ian Mahinmi. Feel free to cut him for a hot free agent.

Thu Apr 10 201418:54The Pacers happy about the day off
Lance Stephenson said Roy Hibbert looked much better in Thursday's practice following Wednesday's rest vs. the Bucks
"We felt good. Everybody was dunking. Roy was dunking! Roy don't normally dunk in practice," Stephenson said. "Roy dunking in practice is like a big plus." Hibbert has looked very slow and his offensive arsenal has dissipated since his hot start, so it's at least somewhat encouraging he's feeling better. That said, how else are the Pacers going to respond? It does seem like a "desperate times call for desperate measures" move by coach Frank Vogel to rest his entire starting five on Wednesday and only time will tell how it works out. The Pacers play travel to Miami for a huge game on Friday.

Wed Apr 9 201413:37Roy Hibbert (rest) will not play vs. Bucks
Roy Hibbert (rest) will not play vs. Milwaukee on Wednesday.
Hibbert was benched for the second half of Sunday's game because he looked "worn down," and Pacers coach Frank Vogel has since given his starters two days off practice in addition to Wednesday's mass benching. Hibbert averaged a mere 4.6 rebounds during a busy month of March, to go along with 9.7 points on 42.2 percent shooting, so hopefully the days off will have the desired effect. Ian Mahinmi will start vs. the Bucks, but Hibbert will return to action on Friday.

Tue Apr 8 201413:49Pacer starters get day off, reserves practice
If the Indiana Pacers' season wasn't already weird enough, the starters were given the day off on Tuesday, while the reserves went through a normal practice.
Maybe this has happened before, but we're not aware of it. Roy Hibbert is actually at practice and watching in street clothes, while the no-namers do work on the court. If there was already dissension amongst teammates, it would make sense that the bench players might be angry that they had to work today while the regulars got a day off. The Pacers collapse has been pretty epic thus far, but we may not have seen the worst of it yet. Especially if they end up losing in the first round of the playoffs.

Mon Apr 7 201409:54Vogel: Roy Hibbert looks 'worn down'
Pacers coach Frank Vogel suggested that he benched Roy Hibbert for the second half on Sunday because the starting center "looked worn down."
"I considered resting Roy before tonight's game because he looks worn down," Vogel said, before repeating the phrase a few more times for emphasis. Paul George suggested that the benching was matchup-based, as Hibbert had a tough time following Pero Antic around the perimeter, but either way Hibbert looked upset and distant while sitting at the end of the Pacers' bench. He should resume his usual role vs. Zaza Pachulia and the Bucks on Wednesday, but after Sunday's meltdown we'll be keeping a very close eye on Indy's rotations.

Wed Apr 2 201422:33Roy Hibbert (neck) passes concussion test
Roy Hibbert passed a concussion test after an injury to his neck on Wednesday, finishing with 11 points, three boards, three assists and two blocks.
He hurt himself in the first quarter and still was able to get a decent chunk of playing time. Hibbert has really looked lost on offense and now the team has a legitimate reason to sit him to get ready for the playoffs. Interestingly, the Pacers don't have a single back-to-back set the rest of the way.
