Wed Jun 22 201119:05Ted Lilly gives up three homers in loss
Ted Lilly was tagged for six runs in 4 2/3 innings by the Tigers in a loss Wednesday.
Lilly struck out eight and walked just one, but he gave up three homers, two of them coming with a man on base. He's turned in back-to-back poor performances after a fine five-start run over the previous few weeks. His ERA, which was down to 3.98, is back up to 4.63 now. He's not worth playing in fantasy leagues against AL teams.

Mon Jun 6 201122:36Lilly out-dueled by Cliff Lee
Ted Lilly allowed two runs on five hits in six innings of work on Monday evening, but got out-dueled by Cliff Lee in Los Angeles' 3-1 loss to the Phillies.
He struck out four and walked one. The quality start was Lilly's fourth straight, while he has now gone at least six innings in eight consecutive outings. He'll get the Rockies in Colorado this weekend.

Wed Jun 1 201102:18Ted Lilly strikes out eight against Rockies
Ted Lilly struck out eight while allowing two runs in seven innings Tuesday versus the Rockies.
That bests his previous season high in strikeouts by two. With his velocity and strikeout rate down, Lilly has proven vulnerable times this year. However, he has made adjustments. It's probably not going to result in a sub-4.00 ERA, but at least he's looking like a solid starter again now.

Sun May 15 201120:22Lilly takes fourth loss of the season
Ted Lilly yielded four earned runs over six innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Lilly struck out five, walked two and gave up five hits. The 35-year-old hasn't won back-to-back starts this season after wining seven of 12 outings following last year's trade. There's room for improvement here, especially as Lilly sports a 4.83 ERA. Buying low isn't a bad idea.

Sat Apr 30 201101:24Dodgers' Lilly defeats Padres
Ted Lilly pitched six innings and allowed just one run Friday in a win over the Padres on Friday.
Lilly has been alternating good and bad outings lately, though really, there's nothing too impressive about holding the Padres to one run with the way they're swinging at the moment. Lilly still figures to improve from here. He's not getting as many swings and misses as usual, but that can change.

Sat Apr 23 201116:49Lilly handed no-decision vs. Dodgers
Ted Lilly was chased for five runs on 11 hits over 4 1/3 innings as part of a no-decision against the Dodgers on Saturday.
Lilly has allowed at least four runs in three out of his first five starts this season. The good news is that he's throwing just as hard (or soft) as ever before and his secondary numbers are just about where we expect him to be. This could be a good time to buy-low.

Ted Lilly picked up his first win by blanking the Braves for seven innings on Monday night.

Thu Apr 14 201104:33Lilly gives up two big homers in loss
Ted Lilly yielded four runs and seven hits in six innings in Wednesday night's 4-3 loss to the Dodgers.
Staked to a one-run lead heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, Lilly gave up the tying home run to Pablo Sandoval and then the go-ahead home run to the light-hitting Mike Fontenot. With a 6.00 ERA, Lilly is not yet earning his new three-year contract. His next start should come Monday against the Braves.

Ted Lilly allowed two runs over 4 1/3 innings Friday in a no-decision against the Padres.
Lilly came back after the first rain delay of the game, but the Dodgers decided to exercise some caution in the fifth and pull him after 85 pitches. He's still searching for his form after a rough spring and a poor first start against the Giants.

Sat Apr 2 201119:41Lilly doesn't have good 2011 debut
Ted Lilly got knocked around by the Giants in his first start of the season on Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings in a Dodger loss.
He struck out three and walked one. Lilly did not pitch well in spring training, posting a 6.19 ERA in 16 innings, but did look very good for the Dodgers down the stretch last season, and should remain a solid own for most fantasy players despite his increasingly slower fastball.

Wed Mar 23 201118:14Ted Lilly spins six solid innings
Ted Lilly spun six solid innings Wednesday, holding the White Sox to two runs on six hits.
He didn't walk anyone and struck out five in the outing. Lilly has pitched just three times this spring and has been very good in two outings and very bad in another. What does it mean? Well, nothing, really. He'll be a rock-solid fantasy hurler again in 2011.

Mon Mar 7 201116:50Lilly has decent afternoon against Rockies
Ted Lilly turned in a decent outing against the Rockies on Monday, giving up three hits and one run in 3 1/3 innings.
He struck out two and walked none. The 35-year-old Lilly has dealt with minor injuries each of the past two seasons, and isn't a great bet to make 30 starts for the fifth time in six years in 2011.

Wed Oct 20 201009:00Dodgers' payroll to go up in 2011
During a press conference for the Ted Lilly signing, Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said the team's payroll will be higher next season than it was for the 2010 season.
"We know where it's going -- up from a year ago," said Colletti." At this point, that's all I want to tell you." The Dodgers began the season with an $83 million payroll, down from $105 million in 2009. After the Ted Lilly and Manny Ramirez trades, the Dodgers ended up shelling out around $93 million. The Dodgers have a handful of players eligible for free agency this winter, including Hiroki Kuroda and Vicente Padilla, while Chad Billingsley, James Loney, Ryan Theriot, Hong-Chih Kuo and Russell Martino are all arbitration-eligible.

Tue Oct 19 201019:49Dodgers announce signing of Ted Lilly
Dodgers signed LHP Ted Lilly to a three-year contract.
Terms were not disclosed, but he will reportedly earn $33 million over the length of the contract. Lilly, who turns 35 in January, just finished a four-year, $40 million contract. He went 10-12 with a 3.62 ERA in 30 starts between the Cubs and Dodgers this season. Staying in Los Angeles should give him a pretty good chance to remain useful in mixed leagues.
Sun Oct 17 201010:06Dodgers, Lilly agree to terms on 3-year deal
The Dodgers and left-hander Ted Lilly have agreed to terms on a three-year deal.
The deal was reportedly close Saturday, and now it appears Lilly passing a physical, which will happen Tuesday, is the only thing keeping it from being official. We're still not sure how much the contract is for, but the southpaw is likely to get eight figures per season. Lilly was brilliant for the Dodgers down the stretch, boasting a 0.99 WHIP and 77/15 K/BB ratio over 76 2/3 innings, and Chavez Ravine is an ideal spot for him with his flyball tendencies.

Sat Oct 16 201021:06Report: Lilly to re-sign with Dodgers
According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Dodgers and free agent-to-be Ted Lilly are close to terms on a three-year contract.
No idea on the terms yet, but Lilly should be receiving somewhere around $10 million-$12 million per year. He's in an ideal situation for a flyball pitcher in Dodger Stadium, so he should remain a quality fantasy pitcher for at least the next couple of years.

Sun Oct 3 201018:58Lilly beats Diamondbacks in final start
Ted Lilly hurled seven innings of one-run ball to beat the Diamondbacks today.
Lilly struck out nine while walking just two in the outing. He finishes the season with a 3.62 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. At age 35 Lilly won't be getting a very long contract as a free agent this winter, but he's behind only Cliff Lee in terms of current ability on the mound.
