Thu Aug 15 201302:32Capuano gets roughed up in loss to Mets
Chris Capuano coughed up four runs on 10 hits in five innings of Wednesday's loss to the Mets.
He struck out three and walked two. Capuano has surrendered nine earned runs in 9 1/3 innings over his last two starts. In his two outings before that, Capuano hurled 13 scoreless innings. The left-hander isn't consistent enough for mixed leaguers, but he's playable in NL-only formats next week against the Marlins in Miami.

Sat Aug 3 201319:44Capuano goes 6 1/3 scoreless vs. the Cubs
Chris Capuano threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings Saturday in the Dodgers' defeat of the Cubs.
It was the second straight scoreless performance for Capuano, who threw 6 2/3 scoreless frames last Sunday against the Reds. He's been a very good matchup-to-matchup fantasy option over the past several weeks. The lefty should probably be benched next time out in St. Louis.

Sun Jul 28 201320:02Capuano solid in no-decision
Chris Capuano didn't allow any runs over 6 2/3 innings in his start Sunday against the Reds.
It was a solid bounce back effort from Capuano, who had given up at least five earned runs in three of his last four starts. He managed just four strikeouts, but was able to hold the Reds to only three hits. Capuano will take a 4.54 ERA into his next start on Saturday.

Capuano went into the All-Star break on a high note but didn't fare as well on Tuesday, giving up seven hits -- including two home runs -- and five runs. The southpaw struck out just two. He'll carry a 3-6 record and 5.03 ERA into Sunday's matchup with the Reds.

Fri Jul 12 201301:38Capuano excellent in win over Rockies
Chris Capuano fired 6 1/3 scoreless innings in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rockies.
The win pushed the Dodgers over .500 for the first time since April 13. Capuano scattered six hits -- all of them singles -- while striking out a season-high eight batters and walking one. It was quite a contrast from his previous two outings, where he allowed 13 runs (10 earned) over eight innings. The veteran southpaw has been wildly inconsistent this season, but he's quite capable of delivering value in fantasy leagues.

Mon Jul 8 201319:50Chris Capuano moving back into rotation
Chris Capuano will start on Thursday against the Rockies in place of the injured Stephen Fife (shoulder).
Capuano was told Sunday that he would be moved to the bullpen following the acquisition of Ricky Nolasco, but Fife's injury has provided him with another shot. The lefty has allowed 13 runs -- 10 earned -- over his last two outings and should be avoided for fantasy purposes.

The Dodgers have moved Chris Capuano to the bullpen following the addition of Ricky Nolasco.
That means Stephen Fife will remain in the rotation for now. Capuano receives the demotion after allowing 13 runs -- 10 earned -- over his last two outings.

Sat Jun 29 201301:38Chris Capuano gives up seven runs to Phils
Chris Capuano was lit up for seven runs -- five earned -- in 3 2/3 innings by the Phillies in Friday's loss.
Capuano pitched 11 scoreless innings in his first two starts back from the DL, but he couldn't handle the Phillies lineup tonight. Oddly, he's now 1-4 with a 9.00 ERA in five home starts this year, compared to 1-1 with a 1.35 ERA in 26 2/3 innings on the road. That's probably just a fluke.

It was an impressive outing from Capuano, who was pitching on just three days' rest. He allowed four hits, no walks, and had five strikeouts. His next start is scheduled for Friday against the Phillies.

Sat Jun 22 201316:40Capuano to start on short rest Sunday vs. SD
Chris Capuano will start Sunday against the Padres.
He will be going on short rest. Capuano threw six shutout innings Wednesday night against the Yankees but owns an underwhelming 4.62 season ERA and should go on being ignored in most mixed fantasy leagues.

Dodgers manager Don Matingly said Chris Capuano could start Sunday against the Padres.
Capuano would be pitching on short rest after throwing six shutout innings Wednesday. The left-hander has 4.62 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in seven starts this season and should be avoided outside of deeper in NL-only leagues.

Wed Jun 19 201321:53Chris Capuano goes six scoreless in victory
Chris Capuano tossed six shutout innings on Wednesday evening as the Dodgers won the second half of a doubleheader against the Yankees.
It was his first start since suffering a lat strain in late May and he looked excellent, yielding only three total hits. Capuano struck out four and did not give up a walk, throwing 51 of his 84 pitches for strikes. Still, he has a 4.62 ERA and 1.36 WHIP on the season and is not always a reliable streaming option in mixed leagues. The left-hander will get the Giants at home next time out.

Wed Jun 12 201319:40Capuano, Beckett could face suspension
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that Chris Capuano and Josh Beckett could face suspension for leaving the bench during Tuesday's brawl with the Diamondbacks.
You're not allowed to leave the bench during a brawl if you're on the DL, which Capuano and Beckett are. Rosenthal notes that Matt Kemp did not leave the bench. Any suspension Capuano and Beckett might face figures to be short, and because they're starters, the Dodgers should be able to work around it.

Wed Jun 12 201309:44Capuano (lat) to return on June 19
Chris Capuano (lat) is expected to be activated from the disabled list on June 19 to start against the Yankees.
Capuano, currently sidelined with a left lat strain, threw a bullpen session on Tuesday and is scheduled to make a rehab start Friday with Triple-A Albuquerque. It's worth noting that the southpaw came out of the dugout during Tuesday's benches-clearing brawl with the Diamondbacks, so he's likely facing a fine for his actions.

Tue Jun 4 201318:31Strained lat sends Chris Capuano to the DL
Dodgers placed LHP Chris Capuano on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 30, with a left lat strain.
Capuano's injury was originally classified as a triceps issue, but apparently it's his lat that's the problem. The Dodgers had anticipated him avoiding the DL, but evidently the MRI revealed worse news than expected. It's not clear how long he'll be sidelined. Stephen Fife will remain in the rotation while Capuano is out.

Chris Capuano will undergo an MRI on his ailing triceps.
The Dodgers think Capuano will be fine, but they want to make sure. If the MRI comes back clean, he will be cleared to start on Saturday against the Braves. Stephen Fife is making a start in Capuano's place on Monday.
