Chris Capuano is expected to be scratched from his start Monday against the Padres.

Sat May 25 201301:22Chris Capuano gives up six runs to Cards
Chris Capuano gave up six runs -- five earned -- in five innings Friday in a loss to the Cardinals.
Capuano turned in back-to-back strong outings before tonight's stinker against a fine St. Louis offense, so we'll let him off the hook. It wouldn't have mattered much if he had allowed only one or two runs anyway; the Dodger offense wasn't getting anything done in the shutout tonight.

Sat May 18 201322:11Capuano pitches well but Dodgers lose to ATL
Chris Capuano limited the Braves to one earned run over 7 1/3 innings Saturday in a no-decision.
And that one run scored via a two-run homer that Evan Gattis hit off Kenley Jansen in the bottom of the eighth inning. Capuano was fantastic, yielding five hits and no walks while striking out five. He has been excellent in his last two outings and can be trusted again in deeper mixed fantasy leagues (though maybe not for his next start). Capuano will face the red-hot Cardinals on Friday.

Sun May 12 201320:18Chris Capuano earns first win of season
Chris Capuano allowed one run on five hits and had seven strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a win Sunday over the Marlins.
Capuano was lit up for six runs in his return from the DL, but he took advantage of pitching against the weak-hitting Marlins. The seven strikeouts is more an indictment on Miami's lineup than it is a sign of things to come from Capuano. His only mistake came on a sole home run to Justin Ruggiano in the sixth inning. Capuano's next start will come on Saturday vs. the Braves.

Tue May 7 201301:27Capuano rocked in return from DL
Chris Capuano was lit up in his return from the disabled list Monday, giving up six runs - five earned - over just four innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks.
Capuano permitted eight hits - including a pair of homers - while walking a pair. The two longballs came in the fifth inning, as the left-hander allowed back-to-back shots to Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Ross before manager Don Mattingly gave him the hook. Capuano then threw a temper tantrum in the dugout, tossing a water cooler and a tray of gum. The southpaw remains someone to monitor in mixed leagues, but with a 10.38 ERA and 2.31 WHIP, he can't be trusted this weekend even against the Marlins.

Dodgers activated LHP Chris Capuano from the 15-day disabled list.

Fri May 3 201320:11Chris Capuano expected to return on Monday
Chris Capuano (calf) is expected to return from the disabled list to start on Monday against the Diamondbacks.
That would allow Josh Beckett an extra day of rest, pushing him back until Tuesday. Capuano pitched well in his minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday, and experienced no renewed soreness in his injured left calf. With all of the injuries the Dodgers have experienced in the rotation, Capuano has an opportunity to secure a spot for the remainder of the season if he pitches well.

The 34-year-old left-hander has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 17 with a strained left calf muscle.

Wed Apr 17 201321:14Chris Capuano suffered injury during brawl
The Dodgers have revealed that Chris Capuano originally suffered his left calf strain last week during the brawl with the Padres.
Capuano felt tightness before that game and felt it worsen while sprinting in from the bullpen to join in on the melee. Capuano will have an MRI and receive a platelet-rich plasma injection on Thursday before the club determines how long he might be sidelined.

Capuano injured himself while covering first base in the second inning and ultimately had to leave the game in the third. The Dodgers will have a better idea of what they are dealing with after he goes for the exam on Wednesday or Thursday. Chris Capuano left Tuesday's start in the third inning with a left leg injury.

If Capuano has to miss any time, which seems likely, Ted Lilly would surely replace him in the rotation.

The 34-year-old lefty posted a 3.72 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 162/54 K/BB ratio across 198 1/3 innings last season. Greinke is expected to miss eight weeks with a broken collarbone.

Chris Capuano spun seven scoreless innings in a minor league game Monday with scouts from the Mariners, Pirates, Rangers and Indians in attendance.
