Capunano allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits, walking one and striking out four over 6.1 innings of a 6-3 win against Toronto on Friday night.
Capuano (2-3, 4.24 ERA) notched his first win for the Yankees since coming over to the team earlier this month. He isn't an ace, but he can contribute and the Yankees are playing well as they try to run down the division-leading Orioles. He'll get the Red Sox at home in his next scheduled start.

Capuano went six innings Sunday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks, striking out five.
The three runs came on homers by Alexei Ramirez and Conor Gillaspie, which were just the fifth and sixth allowed by Capuano this season in 68 innings. His next start could be dangerous - at Toronto.

Capuano gave up four runs on eight hits while fanning eight and walking two in Tuesday's no-decision against the visiting Astros.
That's 23 strikeouts in his last three outings, an 18-inning span that has also featured just three walks and a total of eight earned runs. Capuano will look to pick up his first win in a Yankee uniform again when he takes to the mound against the White Sox on Sunday.

Capuano lost Monday against the Orioles as he pitched six innings and allowed four runs and six hits to go along with seven strikeouts.
Capuano has provided the Yankees with a mostly dependable starting option as he has allowed four runs or less in each of his four starts with the team. He has 15 strikeouts over his last two starts and although he's not flashy, he is at least fantasy relevant again with his new role.

Capuano allowed one unearned run on five hits and a walk, striking out eight in Wednesday's victory over the Tigers.
Capuano kept a tough Detroit lineup in check Wednesday, but was unable to come away with the win, as Brian McCann launched the go-ahead solo shot the inning after Capuano was replaced by Adam Warren. The left-hander has been an admirable fill-in for the Yankees so far, allow a total of six earned runs over 19 innings, fanning 17 batters along the way. He's still not the ideal fantasy option, but has the potential to do a bit of damage when he's feeling it on a particular night.

Capuano allowed four runs on eight hits, he did not walk a batter and struck out five over 6.1 innings of a 4-3 loss to Boston on Friday night.
After walking four in his last start, Capuano (1-2, 4.50 ERA) was able to find the plate consistently in this one (98 pitches, 62 for strikes) but found a bit too much of it, a bit too often. He'll face a significant challenge against a potent Detroit lineup in his next start.
Sat Jul 26 201416:30Chris Capuano pitches well in Yankees debut
Chris Capuano pitched well in his Yankees debut on Saturday, surrendering a pair of runs on five hits over six innings in a no-decision.
The veteran left-hander punched out four on the afternoon while walking four. All of the damage against him came in the fifth inning where Melky Cabrera delivered an RBI double and scored on a sacrifice fly. His flyball tendencies won't play well in his new home park, but he should be able to generate fantasy value with his ability to miss bats. He'll take on the Red Sox in Boston on Friday.

Fri Jul 25 201416:03Chris Capuano to start for Yankees Saturday
Chris Capuano will start on Saturday against the Blue Jays.
Shane Greene has been pushed back to Sunday, while Chase Whitley will head to the bullpen. Capuano posted a 4.55 ERA in 28 relief appearances for the Red Sox this season but held a 2.79 mark in four minor league starts and struck out 11 batters in his last outing. He could be a decent stop-gap open in the Yankees' rotation.

Thu Jul 24 201418:16Yankees acquire Chris Capuano from Rockies
Yankees acquired LHP Chris Capuano from the Rockies in exchange for cash considerations.
It's great news for Capuano, who was recently passed over for a promotion. He should get a chance to start in New York given all the injuries to the Yankees' rotation. The left-hander holds a 4.55 ERA in 28 relief appearances in the majors this season but put up a 2.79 mark in four minor league starts. He's worth a shot in AL-only leagues, but Capuano is a flyball pitcher that will now be in a park that surrenders a lot of homers.

Sun Jul 20 201408:33Chris Capuano an option to start Tuesday
The Rockies could call up Chris Capuano from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start on Tuesday against the Nationals.
The Rox have decided to give Eddie Butler more time in the minors, so Capuano and Yohan Flande are looking like the main options for Tuesday. Signed to a minor league contract earlier this month following his release from the Red Sox, Capuano has put up a 2.93 ERA over 12 1/3 innings in the minors as he stretches out to start again. He went 4 2/3 frames in his latest outing, so he obviously wouldn't have the stamina yet to pitch too deep into Tuesday's game.

Fri Jul 4 201408:49Rockies ink Chris Capuano to minors deal
Rockies signed LHP Chris Capuano to a minor league contract.
It's a good fit, as the Rockies are desperate for rotation depth and Capuano is better than what he showed in Boston, when he put up a 4.55 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 31 2/3 relief innings. He'll need to stretch out after pitching exclusively out of the bullpen with the Red Sox but should rejoin the Rockies' rotation sometime after the All-Star break.

Tue Jul 1 201414:06Red Sox release left-hander Chris Capuano
Red Sox released LHP Chris Capuano.
Not surprisingly, Capuano cleared waivers after being designated for assignment by the Red Sox last week. The 35-year-old had a 4.55 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 31 2/3 innings of relief with Boston this season. It shouldn't be long before he finds a new home elsewhere.

Wed Jun 25 201418:29Capuano designated for assignment by Red Sox
Red Sox designated LHP Chris Capuano for assignment.
Capuano had a 4.55 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 31 2/3 innings of relief, and after a five-run outing his last time out the Red Sox finally decided they'd seen enough. He may catch on somewhere else on a minor league deal, but it appears to be getting to the end of the road for the 35-year-old.

Thu Apr 17 201401:47Chris Capuano earns win in relief
Chris Capuano pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings for a relief victory Wednesday against the White Sox.
Capuano has been a revelation in relief for the Red Sox, throwing nine scoreless innings in the team's first 15 games. Given his injury history, we'll see if he can keep it up. He has to be in line for a couple of days off after the long outing tonight.

Wed Mar 5 201416:53Chris Capuano allows two runs in loss
Making his spring debut, Chris Capuano yielded two runs in two innings Wednesday in his start against the Cardinals.
A Xavier Scruggs homers did the damage. Capuano projects as the swingman on the Red Sox staff; he's expected to be in the pen initially, but he could step into the rotation as soon as a starter is needed.

Sat Feb 22 201411:50Red Sox sign Chris Capuano to one-year deal
Red Sox signed LHP Chris Capuano to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.
Capuano passed his physical on Saturday morning making the deal official. He'll compete for the final spot in the Red Sox rotation this spring, but will likely end up as the long-man out of the bullpen. He's only relevant in mixed leagues if he's in the Opening Day rotation.

Sat Feb 22 201410:56Chris Capuano to undergo physical on Saturday
Joe McDonald of ESPN Boston reports that Chris Capuano has arrived at Red Sox camp and will undergo his physical on Saturday.
If all goes well and the deal becomes official, he'll throw his first bullpen session with his new squad on Sunday. He'd make for an interesting late-round flyer in mixed league drafts if he earns the final spot in the Red Sox rotation, but the most likely scenario has him winding up as the long man in the bullpen.

Thu Feb 20 201414:00Red Sox reach deal with lefty Chris Capuano
Ron Chimelis of the Springfield Republican reports that the Red Sox have signed left-hander Chris Capuano.
It's a one-year, $2.25 million deal, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman. Capuano drew surprisingly little interest this winter despite dominant career numbers against left-handed hitters and the ability to both start and relieve. The Red Sox will let him compete for their fifth rotation spot this spring but will likely use him as a swingman (moving between the bullpen and rotation) once the regular season begins. Capuano, 35, boasts a solid 3.91 ERA and 1.286 WHIP in his last 304 major league innings.

Thu Feb 20 201412:21Red Sox making progress with FA Capuano
According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, the Red Sox have made "some progress" with free agent Chris Capuano.
Boston is viewing the veteran left-hander as a potential swingman who would work primarily in relief but could also step in for some spot starts. Capuano, 35, posted a 3.91 ERA and 1.286 WHIP in 304 innings during his two-year run (2012-2013) with the Dodgers. He has held left-handed batters to a .231/.288/.331 slash line in his nine-year major league career. The Mariners are also known to have interest.

Tue Feb 18 201419:27Red Sox in talks with lefty Chris Capuano
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Red Sox are "talking" to Chris Capuano.
Boston is looking to replenish some rotation depth after Ryan Dempster decided not to pitch this season, and Capuano would be a nice fit. The left-hander could possibly slide in at the end of the rotation or be used in a swingman role. Capuano, who was born in Massachusetts, has been seeking a two-year deal this winter.
